:confused3 Does anyone know if any of the WDW parks have ID tags for kids? Those to wear on the wrist or ankle, in case the child gets lost? If so, where would we go to get one? Guest services? We are staying off-site so we would not be able to get one from the resorts.

I just came here to look for that same information.

Sometime last week, somewhere, I read that you can get up to three children's i.d.'s for free -- provide someone (don't know who) the children's info and they will prepare it for you then you print it and laminate it.

My head is spinning with all the reading I've been doing lately and I can't remember where I read it at. Anyone? :confused3

I just used the dog tag/luggage tag engraving machine at Wal-Mart to make a tag for DD. It's a red heart-shaped metal tag, and I put her name and our cell phone numbers on it. She wore it on a ball chain.

I work at a hospital so I brought home two of the ID bands we use there and I'll write our Cell #on them. They are water proof and have to be cut off.

Great idea :cheer2:

I am making a bracelet w/our cell# on it...no name! I will purchase the beads and stringing supplies from the craft store. We will have 7 kids ranging age 3 to 9 so I will make one for each as a surprise! :wizard:

I think I read somewhere that it is not a good idea to display a child's name as anyone can then address them by it and therefore create familiarity with the child.

I haven't used any kind of ID tag before, but decided to get some recently. I purchased some ID bracelets at www.idonme.com. We used them for the first time this past weekend and DS6 had no problem wearing it.

I used a shoe ID tag (http://www.whosshoesid.com/) this past March. We got lots of compliments on it, and thank goodness we didn't have to "use" them. My children are DD2, DD4 and DS8.

It was so nice to just velcro these into their shoe laces and forget them...the kids wore the same shoes to the parks everyday, so we didn't have to remember to put the ID on....it just stayed on their shoes the whole time.

Inside the velcro, was the child's name, parent's name and our cell phone number. It worked really well!!!

I created my own. I used the round name tag kit from Wal-Mart (in arts and crafts). In Word, I used Disney Clipart for a picture, then entered the other info. Printed out and cut to fit inside the name tags. Info used:
"My name is (1st initial and last name)
I am 6 yrs old (age)
Parents: (1st and last name)
We are staying at (Resort Name)
Cell Phone (phone #) (this is in BOLD print)"
I made a couple of these and have used them twice now. I saved this in Word so I can update it. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the ideas! I especially like the velcro shoe ID tags, but don't have enough time to order for this trip. Will keep that in mind for the next trip.

We made our own to. They were trading card sized with our names, cell #, resort name and section. We laminated them and pinned them inside the kids clothes. The kids were lectured repeatedly about what to do if we got separated. Stay in one area and find a castmember... then show them the id card.

How are they holding up? And how hard is it to keep them on their shoes, my dd 4 wears only velcroe strip tenni shoes so she can put them on herself, would they work on there? Thanks!

They held up fine...but we were only there 6 days. Of course they got a little dirty, but overall they worked great. I think my one DD wore velcro shoes...and I just looped it through a space in the sneaker so it didn't interfere with getting the shoe on or off.

Hope that helps!!

I just called the company about getting a kit, and told them I was leaving Sunday. Could I get the kit before then? (http://www.whosshoesid.com/)
They are going to overnight it to me.

The very nice owner ( a mom working out of her home, and inventor of the id) asked me if I was going to Disney. Wow, I never told her where I was going. Was she psychic? Turns out 80% of the people who order are going to Disney!

I just ordered mine for our trip. I thought these were a fantastic idea. It's going to be much more crowed this trip, it's so worth it! Thanks for sharing the Who's Shoes Id idea!

Thank you for the tip! I was a mess last year every time my 2.5 yr old son even moved from my side. i just ordered the shoe tags and maybe i can relax a little this year when we go back.

I ordered the shoe tags last week too. The lady was very kind!! I needed them quickly bc we are leaving in a few days. She told me that she is going to a trade show in Orlado this week. iIt would great if she could get WDW to buy them and sell inside the parks. She said to make sure to use a fine point sharpie.
