Just wondering if anyone has made these using those Mickey Head paint color samples from Home Depot. Have been thinking of how cute these would be as tags!

wow that is a good idea. A little laminate and you would be good to go. i am going to try this in June. Thanks!

That's what I was thinking! Just wondering if anyone had actually done it.. where they placed it, etc!

I think that they are perfect size to laminate and punch a hole in for a shoe tag or add a keyring loop to it for a belt loop. I am going to go to Home Depot tomorrow and get some to experiment with. gain, thanks for the good idea!

I used WHO'S SHOES ID. I learned about on the boards. It's alittle strip, weather resistant, I think, with a velcro passive side on one side of the strip and an active side on the other.

I have done this for our trip at the end of the month. We are using them as luggage tags, stroller tags and Kid ID tags. We have also made a matching game from the samples as well. We will attach them to the kids belt loop. They work great!

My DS (4) had a great time making his own.

I stopped at my Local Home Depot to pick some up for the very same thing. Very cute tags for my DD.

I love the ID-Inside wrist bands. The come in pink or blue and are velcro. They hold little ID's inside.

I make mine on the computer and change them when vacationing. I have one made up for when we visit :

*Parks/Zoo's - basic information (parents name with cell #'s, and home phone #, plus Dr's #'s, etc...)

* Knoebels - with their phone #, camp site # (it never changes), and parents name with cell #'s, plus Dr's #'s, etc...

* Beach - name of motel and their phone #, parents name with cell #'s, and home phone #, plus Dr's #'s, etc... (we always stay at same motel)

* Florida - name of resort and their phone #, parents name with cell #'s, and home phone #, plus Dr's #'s, etc...

I also laminate the ID tags so there is no chance of them getting ruined. When we go on vacation or a trip, I just insert the appropriate strip and we're all set to go...

etwinchester - Where can I find these velcro ID tags? I would like to check them out. I'm looking for something to use with my DD.

Here is where I ordered mine from;

ID Inside Wrist Bands

If your creative, make your own slips on the computer, print them out and laminate them. It took a little while to get a nice format down. Mine are two sided.

I made a big one and fold in half to fit. Front shows DD name, Parents Name, Vacation Address and phone #, Cell Phone #'s and Home Phone #. Then has an arrow so people know to look on reverse side. That side has other emergency phone #'s and Dr's #'s.

I can email my word document if anyone is interested and you can change the information.

I printed all mine out and keep in a little box. When we go away, I take the appropriate one. I get many parents asking me where I found it when we go on school field trips. You never know when you'll need it...("thank God" I never have)

This sounds great. Dumb question I guess - how do you use them for luggage tags? Do you just write the info on the sample. I've seen lots of suggestions to laminate them - is this difficult? I saw at our local Meijers the other day - laminate sheets (no machine). Do these work? Would LOVE to do this for luggage tags.

Walmart sells little laminated pouches for id tags with the connector loop. You just lay what you want to laminate on one side and peel the paper off the sticky side. It already has the hole on top you just loop the plastic string thing through and you have an id tag. They come 5 in a package for about $3.00 I think it was. I have already used it to make id tag for my DD(5)'s lanyard. I used tags off a disney shirt with Mickey and one with spongebob (we are going to Universal for a day). One one side I just put relevant info like her asthma and phone numbers. So she will wear it on her lanyard every time we leave the hotel. When we get tothe parks I show her a nice CM and explain how to tell who works there in case she gets lost she can give a CM her tag.

This is a great idea.

I've always gone to the pet store and had small pet tags engraved with my kids info on them. Then, I attach it to their shoe laces. It tucks under the laces and doesn't bother them at all. DD likes to wear them as nacklaces too.

Thanks. Looks like it's off to Walmart after work. I think I've seen these before.

Went on lunch to Home Depot and got my Mickey Head paint samples. They had tons. Felt kinda silly grabbing so many. Thought I'd use 2 (back to back), laminate them and use as luggage tags as suggested here. LOVE IT.

I tried to put 2 together and cut them out so it was just the head laminated and I am not crafty enough to cut around the circles straight so Mickey kept getting some part of his ears cut up so i gave up on doing that but they will work fine back to back.Have fun!

My DH is making mine as we speak (or read). She thinks I'm a little nutty, but I want my fellow Disers to find me this week. For you newbies, make sure you use lime green so we know who you are!!

C-ya real soon!!! :firefight
