On my upcoming trip, my step children will enjoy their first character meal. I was thinking either Chef Mickey for Breakfast or Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. Step-daughter is 12 and step-son 7, dd is 3 and (me and her will also to PSB in Norway). Any advise on Chef Mickey or LTT?

pixiedust: Chef Mickey's is a *wonderful* choice for a first character meal. It's fun, festive, and the food and service are great.::MickeyMo

I would choose Chef Mickey's or Animal Kingdom Breakfast w/ Mickey and the gang.

another thumbs up for Chef Mickeys :thumbsup2

Although I personally like the food better at LTT, I think that CM would be much more fun for the kids. It is very festive!!!

Definitely Chef Mickeys...unless you kiddos are more into Pooh and the gang then hit Crystal Palace.

I just asked my DSs which one they liked better and they both yelled "Chef Mickeys"! As previous posters have said, it is very party like at Chef Mickeys. LTT is pretty laid back. If any of the kids are picky eaters, I would definitly go to Chef Mickeys- lots of variety on the buffet. We love eating a late breakfast there!

LTT has the best characture interaction in all of WDW. Whether it was our baby who was terrified, while his brother was 6 and couldnt get enough of them....or when he was 3 and still scared of any charactures UNTIL we ate at LTT, then he came around and has never looked back.

LTT. No question.

I got to agree with Chef Mickey's! Great variety on the menu for kids and a fun atmosphere. You can also watch the monorail glide by from one of the windows (up high) - how cool is that?

Another vote for Chef Mickey's!!!

This is a GREAT place to go as a 1st character meal.

Absolutely Chef Mickey's. Donald's is great, I'd certainly recommend it, but CM all-the-way for the first experience!

Chef Mickey's was our first character meal and I have absolutely no regrets. The food was good, the service was good, the character interaction was fun, and DD still talks about the napkin dance. :)

I'll go against the grain here: we didn't care for Chef Mickey's. It was wild, kids running everywhere, sticking their hands in food at the buffet, poor service, no organization, long lines despite our ADR (Ps back then), loud, expensive and subpar food. Crystal Palace for lunch is great -- quiet, calm, pretty, good food, wonderful service, exciting for the kids. We also enjoyed LTT dinner more than CM, (although character interaction was a bit rushed) and afterwards we walked outside, staked out a spot in Frontierland, and watched Spectromagic!

Id have to say it depends on which characters your kids are into. Choose which place by who they will interact with. The food isnt so special/great at any one that I'd choose by the food. If they dont have any real favorites then from what it seems also depends on if you want wilder (Chef Mickeys, Id say) or calmer (Crystal Palace or LTT).
