MK - CRT bfast & Crystal Palace
Epcot- Garden Grill ( Ice Cream Social)
DS - Sci Fi for lunch
AK - no fav but were going to try Breakfastsaurus in May
WL Whispering Canyon - my kids LOVED this place!!

1. MK: Both palaces are good (Crystal and Cindy's). I hear good things about Liberty Inn, but we always go in the summer heat and I just can't fathom T'giving fare in that season!

2. Epcot: We like Garden Grille (Land) - good food, good character interaction. Teppanyaki is good, but probably as good as any Benihana or Shogun or such.

3. DS: (MGM?) SciFi is a fave. Love that cool feeling of dining under the stars! Movies aren't scary -- just dorky! Sadly, we didn't get much out of PrimeTime -- my kids thought the place was a ripoff because "they can't even afford COLOR TV" (nostaligia is an art LOST on a 9 year old). My sister LOVES Mama Melroses best here.

4. AK: Rainforest is good, though it is a chain found outside the world. SOme folks find it too noisy or too scary (if animals / thunderstorms aren't your cup of tea). Typically, because this park closes so early, we eat dinner elsewhere when visiting here. Consider dining over at AK lodge and extending your whole "AK" day in a new way.

5. Non-Park: Oh this is tough -- we love the resorts! Whispering Canyon (WL) is a fave, as is Beaches and Cream (BC). We also love ESPN (BW). If its characters you want, go to Chef Mickey's -- we like dinner there. If it's a dress-up, no kids kinda meal, SHula's is EXCELLENT. In Orlando away from WDW (perish the thought!), Bahama Breeze is good.

TOO MANY GREAT PLACES!!!!!

I thought Sci-FI was dark and my DD was scared most of the meal, we preferred Primetime at MGM. CRT at MK or storybook breakfast at Norway if your kids are girls.

Disneyglobegirl -- we must have posted at nearly the same time -- just read your post. Wow, looks like our great minds think (and eat!) alike!! :flower:

Just wanted to add that my kids are 10, 8, and 4 ; they have been several times, and these have proven to be our consistent faves over the years. Our last trip was August 2004.

My son (was 7 on last visit to WDW) is not a 'picky eater' at all, and enjoyed the food everywhere we ate within WDW... including the ethnic foods in the different countries at WS.

But these are his favorites:

1. MK -- Crystal Palace for sit down/Character meal, and Casey's Hot Dogs for counter service.

2. Epcot -- Garden Grill for sit down/Character meal (loves the Ice Cream Social at GG), and most any counter service options in WS, but particularly China ('Lotus Blossom', where he highly recommends the Ginger ice-cream!) Looking forward to grazing our way through the F & W Festival this October.

3. MGM/DS -- Sci Fi for sit down, and Pizza Planet for counter service. ('Themeing' tends to win out over food quality when in this park.)

4. DAK -- Rain Forest Cafe for sit down meal, and the Chakranadi Chicken Shop for counter service (DS loves Asian food).

5. Non-Park -- We really don't eat much outside of the parks, since we can always 'hop' to Epcot for a quick bite... but DS(now 9) is especially looking forward to trying out Avalunch at Blizzard Beach this time around.

Tip #1 - You can view menus for any of the WDW restaurants online, prior to your trip. Doing so should give you a fairly good idea of which include meal choices that your kids are likely to enjoy. It can also help you to avoid those dining destinations that may result in a lot of whining and wasted food, because there is nothing much on the menu that your children are going to be willing to try. Go to: http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm

Tip #2 - Many of the 'All you can eat' buffet style restaraunts can be a wise choice with kids, since there are typically such a wide variety of food item choices available there. Chances are that even 'picky eaters' will be able to find something that they like. And there is no real harm done if they try something that looks interesting, and then decide they don't really like it--they can simply go back, get a new plate, and try something else. When ordering off of a regular menu, your options are often far more limited.

LOL - It is so hard to get my kids to try new places because they love these - LOL We are going again in May and I haven't told them where we are eating yet because I am trying to squeeze in some new places along with some of the favorites! :sunny:

MK - CRT- no question

AK- Tusker house. We did Rainforest a few years ago, and neither one can hardly remember it. (they were 5, and 2). It did not leave a great impression.

Epcot- Marrakesh (bellydancing), and Teppanyaki

DS- Mama Melrose, or Sci- Fi

Non-park- Its a tie- Ohanna, and Chef Mickey's

These are the ones my boys (ages 5, 3 and 1) enjoyed on our Feb. trip:

MK-Crystal Palace

Epcot-Coral Reef

AK-Tusker House

MGM-Pizza Planet

DTD-Earl of Sandwich

Backlot Express in MGM
Cosmic Ray's in MK
Restaurantsaurus in AK
The food court in the Land in Epcot

I have two girls 13 & 9 (they were 12 & 8 on last trip Oct-Nov 2004). Here were their favs:

1. MK - CRT for breakfast or dinner, Caseys, & Cosmic Rays

2. Epcot - San Angel (but we loved eating our way around the food festival too)

3. MGM - Hollywood & Vine and Pizza Planet (for the atmosphere)

4. AK - Rainforest - the girls love the tropical feel and their Volcano's!

5. Non-Park - We loved Whispering Canyon, but in the past trips to AKL think that Boma's is wonderful. Also Chef Mickeys is also in our top ten as a big favorite.

My DD is 10 and here is her list for full service:
1900 Park Fare for breakfast
50's Prime Time Cafe for lunch
Garden Grill for lunch
San Angel Inn for lunch
Le Cellier for lunch
'Ohana for dinner
Coral Reef for dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner
Cape May Cafe for dinner

List for counter service:
All Star Movies food court
Port Orleans French Quarter food court
Cosmic Rays
Pecos Bills
Tusker House

We eat a lot more full service than counter service, and usually eat early lunches and regular dinners with only a snack for breakfast unless we have big plans for a character meal.

Another really nice place for breakfast is Whispering Canyon....lots of fun for the kids and the food is really good and reasonably priced. We are taking her there in June.

DS13 has been enjoying the following for past 9 years:

MK-Casey's or Cosmic Rays
Epcot-San Angel, Coral Reef or Italy
MGM-Sci Fi
AK-Rainforest Cafe

Here are my 4.5-year-old DS's faves!

1. MK - all characters, I'm afraid A. LTT (loved the food), B. CRT (loved the attention from the princesses, C. CP - Tigger and ok food for breakfast or dinner.
2. Epcot - another character meal at Garden Grill. This is his fave meal at all of WDW, hands down. Another favorite is Biergarten for the oompah band. He had a great time on the dance floor. Food isn't *too* adventurous for little ones
3. DS - Er, tough one. He thought H&V was good but I can't recommend it. Food quality is lowest of all the buffets we've experienced at WDW. Take the boat over to Beaches & Cream and eat there instead!
4. AK - Rainforest Cafe, another favorite for my animal loving kid.
5. Non-Park - the aforementioned B&C, Whispering Canyon & Boma (he is bananas for anything associated with AKL)

Let us know what you decide, ok? Have fun!

I am quite confident he'd love Ohanas too. We'll see next trip!

These are my ds's (just turned 8) favorites!
MK: LTT
AK: Donald's Breakfastasaurus and Pizzafari
MGM: Sci Fi, 50'sPT, Pizza Planet
Epcot: San Angel
Other: Ohanas, WCC, and Chef Mickey's
:cheer2:
