Kids eat free card

I was just looking at it as a link came up on my facebook.

for $19.99 DD could eat at the restaurants with one paying adult? Quiet a few restaurants we want to eat at are on the list.

Has any one else bought one?

We were given them one year as part of our Virgin package, but we only used them once of twice as our kids were 4 and 5 at the time and liked to just have something off our plates, I think they are better if you have older kid.

i am going to get some , i have no idea if we will get value out of them but its worth a try and its not a huge amount to be out of pocket if they dont get used much

i figured even if we just grab a bite at mcdonalds or something it will cover the cost of the card nearly

Rememeber many restaurants give free meals to children anyway, Some every night and some just certain nights.
eg, I got an email a few days ago saying "All summer long! cool down & bring the kids for Kids eat free Tuesdays @ Millers Alehouse"
Or another I got recently from Manny's "Every Monday & Tuesday Our kids eat free!, age 10 and under, 2 per adult."

how did u get the emails ? do you need to print coupons etc ? we are such newbies at this and everybody on here has been great help with some excellent saving advice , so dont want it to go downhil once we there and on our own !!

Yes, register with all websites you think you will eat at, they send vouchers, offers etc.
If you register the week before you go and enter your birthday as the day before you leave some send birthday offers, others send welcome offers.
You need to do it just before you go as they are usually only valid for 2 weeks from recieving.

Just set up a separate e mail account though or your normal e mail will be full of Holiday 'junk' you don't want most of the time for ever! Personally this drives me mad apart from the few weeks around a trip when I want it so I like to receive it at a different e mail address.

May be I should have asked in more detail.

It states some times there are seperate menus kids eat free menu may vary from the standard child menu.

Does this mean less options, smaller portions?

It's says one full paying adult/ not to be used with any other offer. so if DH and I eat a set menu or an offer is the card invalid?

I just wantedeople opinions and experiences with the card thank you

We had 2 of these when we went this year, and will be buying them again when we go back.

We definately got our monies worth and our girls were only 3 and 2 at the time.

We ate in NBA, Nascar, Macdonalds as well as a few others i cant remember and the cards paid for themselves - We paid £10 each from floridatix i believe.

The only "restriction" we came accross was in NBA - you had to order an actual Entree for - not a burger or a sandwich - My HUsband wanted a Philly cheesesteak which wasnt an "entree" and we paid the extra $2 to make it up to the value of the cheapest "Entree".

If your littlun is happy to eat of your plate and your happy to share on occasion the majority of your dinner then its not worth it.

I like to order my food without thinking about whether its suitable for a 3 year old to eat. I like spicy food, and sauces on things which my girls just wouldnt want to eat.

We think they are worth it, but shop around because you can definately get them cheaper than $20.00

She is happy to eat of our plate but I would like to just order what I want not what can I have that DD will like as well. She is kind of fussy.

We got the kids eat free cards for free a couple of times, I personally wouldn't buy then. As Wayne said you can get free kids meals fairly easily without one. Most of the chains particularly offer kids eat free deals.

We bought them for our trip and never used them, we found we just weren't eating in the right places, we were staying off site, we had some meals booked onsite at Disney and then it was what we fancied, and none of the places we eventually visited used it.

The outlay, from memory, wasn't huge I think we got them through usrentacar with the rental of the car so I wasn't too worried but I wouldn't purchase them again.

If you sign up to restaurant emails, some of them (like Boston Lobster Feast) ask for DOB or anniversary dates. I entered dates for when we were due to be staying, and got some extra discounts. Our anniversary has been whilst we were away anyway, though.
