In the earlier pages of this thread there were a couple of posters who mentioned they would be participating in this weekend's half- and/or full-marathon at WDW... GOOD LUCK to all!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Was there someone on here looking for the Giselle dress up white dress? It's the disney store one. I found one in a 7/8 let me know and I will i m you the link where I saw it at. It's 69.99 plus 10.00 shipping and handling Just trying to be helpful.

Thanks for all the comments on the girls and their outfits. I was so mad about our camera being craptactular lately that new years eve I made my hubby go to best buy and get us a new one. It better not suck during vacation or it's going stright to the bottom of the rivers of america. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: have a nice day all.

HI creative people! I asked someone on this thread a few weeks ago about making me custom shirts (the one with the chest stripe and mickey head) but I lost the PM! My boxes are all empty and I can't recall who I "spoke" to ;) Can you PM me if any of you make / sell the shirts ?
Thanks!:lovestruc

ps- I love looking at all of your creations! I am a long time lurker!

Thanks! Yes, I did purchase from singertexas.com. I did see that they have the $1.99 deal, but I'm having a hard time knowing what color to order. The colors don't show on the website, so I'm super confused. On that threadarts.com site, the colors do show, and it looks like the spools are as cheap as $1.65 each. If you buy a lot at a time, that could make a difference. But the biggest thing is that I need to be able to see the colors. I need to sort this ourt today so I can get started on some projects. ALSO, the whole thing with the bobbins - that's really strange. I wonder what the deal is with not using pre-wounds? The funny thing is, I bought the starter kit and it came with 10 pre-wounds. Strange. Did you get your machine from singertexas.com? Have you purchased thread there yet? I'm wondering if her shipping is as fast for thread as it is for the machine?

I haven't order thread from there for that very reason! I can't tell what color they are so how am I supposed to match it to anything! $1.65 is a really good price as well! I know everyone on the futura thread orders everything from singertexas.com. I think she gives members special attention! And as far as the prewound thing, I am not sure, all I know is that she had a problem when she took hers in for repair, she left the prewound in and they saw it and she got a letter from singer telling her not to use them! But what they don't know won't hurt them, right? and, no I didn't get mine from there, my husband got mine at joann before christmas. I want to order some thread soon, I just want to get a bunch of different colors to have when I need them! I certainly don't want to get five minutes to do something and not have the things I need! If you get any good info or prices, LMK! Thanks!

Ooooo, where are they playing? My kids aren't huge Doodlebops fans, but I know a few Moms round here that do like them.

Hey, how was the Chinese New Year show in Grand Prairie? I saw commercials for that & it looked good. I'm fascinated by those types of shows & the whole production (costumes, make up, dance, music & peek into another culture).

Love it! Are you offering your talents to do this for our sista in Michigan? So nice of you revrob!
Doodlebops are going to be at the Nokia Center in Grand Prairie. I'm REALLY excited about taking AbbyGrace!

The Chinese New Year celebration was great! Of course, AbbyGrace was in her traditional Chinesse silk dress (sorry, don't remember the proper name). Anyway, you would have thought we were escorting royalty! Everyon was oohing and aahing over her. We had two different paper reporters stop us to ask us questions and take pictures with her. It was fun!

As far as offering to helpa a sista out? SURE! ANYTIME!

We got a big 'ol box from disneyshopping.com yesterday. So, we modeled some of the stuff for you:

Here's Sawyer in his Peter Pan costume:

Me wearing my Cinderella sweatshirt and my Cinderella crown with my Cinderella wand. I really wanted to wear the crown to the mall, but I restrained myself:
1-9-08Mewearingcrown2.jpg

I also got my pink Tinkerbell shirt that I asked about a few days ago. It was definitely women's sizing, so it fit. But, it's that really thin, cling to every roll fabric, so I'm not sure I'm going to wear it. I also double-checked disneyshopping.com and they still don't distinguish between Juniors and Women's sizing, even though the clothes are marked that way when you get them!
I forgot to go back and add this when I posted before- I wanted to say that you look so princessy in your tiara - I think teresa should definitely "borrow" her dds so you gals can match on your trip!!!
And as for the "see through" tink shirt- I always wear an "undershirt" so I can wear those cute shirts- They are just SO thin aren't they.
And your ds is a cute little pan- you know my dd makes a great tink
And a shameless plug for me too-
I added an update to my TR!!

TERESA: How's that gorgeous dress coming?![/SIZE]

I'm so excited!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:    The Giselle dress is turning out so pretty!!!! It just needs a zipper, a hem and a sash!!! I will probably post pictures before I get the front ribbon sash, becasue I'm afraid that is going to be very hard to find!!! Lydia looks JUST like a little miniature Giselle (minus the wrinkles! ;) ) She kept hugging me and telling me how much she loved me!!! LOVE IT!!!! I should be finishing it up, but my phone isn't working today, so I had to contact the phone company. Oddly, the phones are completely dead, but the DSL works :confused3

And, I need to use my serger to hem up the chiffon, but I stupidly ran it over a pin yesterday and broke my needle, so now I have to find a new needle AND rethread the darn thing! :scared1:

Maybe Lydia will wear it tomorrow and you can see it in person Heather!

Okay, here is my Cinderella zuma outfit I sorta CASEd from ebay (I actually like mine better, that's rare! :rotfl: )

The top is from my fav YCMT portrait peasant dress pattern.

Side view of the leg:

A closeup of the applique. I was a little disappointed that you could see the outline of the "pillow" through the back of the shoe, then I realized, "glass slipper! duh!":lmao: I also was too lazy to hand-stitch the silver trim on the pillow so it didn't line up exactly like I wanted it to. And it was my first applique with my new machine, so not the best.

th_IMG_0132_edited-1.jpg

Such a cute outfit! Love those pants. How hard are those patterns to follow? I know they are different than US patterns so I hadn't even attempted them.

Thanks! I actually got it on :wizard: it is the Farbenmix zuma pattern. I think I also saw it on sewzannesfabrics.com

Weren't you the one looking at the different skirt patterns on YCMT trying to decide between 2? There is a similar but different pattern on sewzannes that is sooo cute, wait let me get the photo... It is called Laguna by Studio Tantrum
th_pst-lag.jpg

So cute! I've got to try some of these European patterns!

Wow! I'm kind of new to this board and I've just found this thread. I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone in my obsession to dress my DD for each day that we are in Disney. We are going the first week in February and I can't wait. I've become an online stalker - watching auctions to see the clothes, but I can't spend $300+ on one outfit...let alone seven! Luckily, when I was a little girl, my mom taught me how to sew! So, since I teach, have 2 children, and attend grad school, that only leaves me time in the middle of the night for my hobby. My husband thinks I'm crazy because I stay up until the wee hours to work on outfits. Every chance I get, I'm on the computer trying to find new patterns or ideas. I know it is a problem and I've checked into a 12 step program, but they tell me there isn't one! I'm secretly happy about that!

Anyway, I've noticed that there are some very talented people on this board and there are also some well dressed children that belong to them! Thank you all for the inspiration to keep me going well into the night for the next few weeks! I can't wait until I'm done - and have enough posts - so I can show you some pictures of my creations. I'm only making clothes for my DD. She is 2 and loves to wear the clothes I make her. For some reason my DS (7) doesn't want me to make him anything. I guess he's just not that into ruffles! :)

Welcome! Get sewing and share some pictures! Everyone here is wonderful and talented!

I love the Peter Pan outfit on Sawyer, what a cutie! You also look postively fabulous in your Cinderella wear too! I hate it when you get one of those thin shirts that hug every little (or big!) love handle that I have! Who are they making these shirts for? If they are meant for a size 2 then, IMO, that should be the only size made since when I get them and they are like that it is NOT attractive! At least put a little warning on them!

Good news today! My DH and I decided today to definitely go to WDW in February! YEAH!

We decided since #3 is coming in July (actually June since my babies are big I get induced early) it will be our last trip for a while so we should take advantage of it and find a way to make it work. Looks like we'll be eating lots of ramen noodles and hotdogs around here to pay for it:rotfl2: ! Just joking but we will definitely be cutting back on extras. Now I've got to get started on customs for the girls since I didn't want to make them and not get to go. Yikes! I don't have much time left!

I forgot to mention how stinkin' cute Sawyer looks in his Peter Pan costume!

How cool are we with our matching sweatshirts and tiaras!! :rotfl2:

Teresa and I shop together on the phone, too! We usually combine orders so we only have to pay one shipping fee on disneyshopping.

We do that too! Usually so we can get a high enough total to get free shipping!

There had been a discussion about Giselle dresses. DD got one from DH's Aunt and Uncle, they got it at Marks & Spencer (for those from the UK) I love the dress, the one they got is a little big so MIL got her another one in the next smaller size, it should be here in a couple of days. I like it because it's reversible and it's short sleeved, it'll be perfect for her BBB appointment and her birthday dinner in June.

I'll try posting pictures, I have the hardest time doing it from a mac, but I'll try. If they don't work I'll also post a link to M&S so you can get a look at it.

Oooh, I love this! And I am pretty sure that there is a Marks and Spencer in Victoria, BC (near) where my in-laws live. My MIL is a serious shopper, hmmm, maybe I should give her a mission! But on the website it did not appear to come in either DDs size, (DD10 REALLY wants it!)

Ok like I promised Heather And Teresa our Christmas day trip to Disneyland. Where my girls were wearing the cuties outfits I have ever made them and our camera died after three pics. :headache: but three is better than none. It was very windy and very cold so thats why they have sweaters on.

Cute girls and cute outfits!

Hi All... A few quick pics before I head off to bed.
This is the girls with their friends at AK

The girls at their private meet and greet with Aurora

And I think this is my favorite picture of my Cinderella...
297624387.jpg

I really love those dresses! And that Cinderella picture is gorgeous.

That boy is so stinkin' cute! And you look quite regal in your tiara. Thanks to you I ordered a huge amount of stuff from there, most of it is for next winter. I can't wait until it comes and we can play with it!

I'm so sorry your camera conked out on you! I would have been devastated! The girls looks adorable in the customs: I love the ruffly jeans.

They look beautiful! I love those animal kingdom outfits. And those dresses! Even more gorgeous in Disney! They look like little princesses!

I will have Lyddy start practicing Megan's signature pose!

Hey Steph, there was a lady on our news today. We are having some flooding around here, and she was saying that there are fish swimming around in her DRIVEWAY!!! I thought that might interest you. ;)

1) Please do.When I explained what a "signature pose" was, she was very excited!
2) :snooty:

Welcome! I love this! I have been wanting to try this for some time and never got around to it. Yours is beautiful!

Whatever you do, DON'T give Steph that lady's address!! :rotfl2:

I can't wait to see it!

I finished the doll nightgowns today. Megan was very disappointed that I didn't use the Hannah Montana fabric for the doll nightgown but I didn't have any leftover and had a bunch of pink so that's what I used. She wanted to pose in her friend's nightgown with her doll:

Wow, these aren't good pictures of the nightgown, are they? Well, you get the idea. The others came out blurry for some reason.

I sure wish I could get a picture preview before tomorrow. :rolleyes1 Mom has been worried about you today because she can't call you on the phone. I told her you hadn't e-mailed me either. But, then I checked the board and let her know you posted, so you must be fine!

Is that any way to treat your $50 serger?! I think not!

I love the Peter Pan outfit on Sawyer, what a cutie! You also look postively fabulous in your Cinderella wear too! Thank you! I think I look pretty fabulous in my crown, too. :rotfl: I agree on the thin, clingy shirts. I like to stretch out my shirts so they don't cling to the rolls. What are they thinking, putting lycra in shirts nowadays? :rotfl:

Love the Pan on Sawyer, he looks so authentic! And, you, darling look beautiful! Just fabulous, go & embrace your inner princess girl!

I checked this out at Target last year before our trip also. We almost bought it. I pulled it off the shelf & put both my kids in it (broke all the Target laws!). Any type of dual stroller is way too heavy with my big boys. So I bought a Maclaren umbrella for ds(3) & we rented for ds(6). I'm on the search for a bargain like yours on the Maclaren stroller for special needs for ds(6). It can hold up to 100 lbs & it looks less like a wheel chair. He really thrives on having a place to retreat from & the sling type seats on these help him recenter himself also. (Autism makes traveling much more complicated.)

Why thank you!

So, are you not supposed to pull the strollers down and load 'em up with kids and diaper bags and push them around the store? :confused3

Thank you, he is stinkin' cute, isn't he? I'm happy to help you out with spending all your money on disneyshopping. I just wanna drag everyone down with me!

Which pose is Megan's signature pose? I want to make sure we incorporate it into future photo shoots.

I like the jammies with the matching doll jammies. How cute is that!? Very cute, that's how cute! I cut Tessa's hair in honor of Megan. I liked Megan's hair so much that I took a couple of inches off of Tessa's. She doesn't look too different, it just looks a little neater.

Such a cute outfit! Love those pants. How hard are those patterns to follow? I know they are different than US patterns so I hadn't even attempted them. So cute! I've got to try some of these European patterns!

It was mostly pretty easy. The instructions were kind of vague in a couple of spots, but the whole tracing paper/add your own seam allowance thing wasn't too complicated. It's the waistband that was a little tricky because there are no side seams and you have to add it at the end and it was hard getting the width to match up. :confused3 But since there is elastic, it is hard to see my imperfections.

Woo Hoo!   Happy sewing!

Steph, could you "whip up" some of those doll nightgowns for me? :rotfl: I'll be lucky if I get the kids stuff done for the trip, I think the dolls will be sadly underdressed at Disneyworld!

Okay, so I have been working on some stuff for my boys. I still need to make the red shirt for Seth. I forgot how much I hate collars! And what is with these 5 year olds and their poses? Luke kept doing this cross-legged pose in most of the pictures I took. It looks like he is leaning against the wall but he is not :rotfl: I now think of this as Luke's "signature pose" Although he is widely known in 5 years of photos to tilt is head to the side a LOT.

DH wants me to make this shirt for him too :rotfl2: too bad I'm out of this fabric and so is my Joann's! He really is a big kid.

IMG_0146_edited-1.jpg

This is an iron on from Amy M_I_C_K_E_Y :lovestruc This is turning out to be a quick and easy solution for the boys, and they LOVE them! (and yes, I really need to get Luke's hair trimmed out of his eyes before we go!)

What, you can't go in May? So what if you'd be 7 months pregnant! ;)

I just realized I only have 3 months until we go to WDW! [cue freakout]:scared:

I only have one custom done for my DD and one tee shirt embroidered for DS! We're going for 8 days!! GAH!

OK, everyone hope for me that I get things done and photoed soon!

Oh, here's a little pic of a skirt I made a friend of mine:

She's tiny. I hope it fits! It's a wrap skirt, so pretty adjustable.

I love the signature pose. What a cutie!! I showed Tessa and she said "cute!" I'm not sure if she was talking about the shirts of the boy. I have the feeling it was both. ;) I love that Mickey shirt. I have yet to make a collar shirt for Sawyer, but I have the fabric to make 3 of them.

And a shameless plug for me too-
I added an update to my TR!!

Aw man, I thought you wrote ANOTHER update. But, I've already read it! Anyone who hasn't checked out disneymommieof2's TR, take a look. She's got some great pictures on there and it's an entertaining read!

Good luck getting everything done. Those vacations really sneak up on yah!

Those with embroidery machines - can you tell me about thread? Which do you prefer - poly or rayon? Any great places to buy lots of colors? I'm realizing I'm gonna need a LOT of thread, I need to purchase as cheaply as possible!

Hi, Nana putting in her 2 cents worth..LOL When I got my first embroidery machine 5-6 years ago I found out that getting an excellent quality thread was extremely important. The cheaper the thread quality the more problems with your machine and the stitch-out of the design itself. I preferr Sulky brand embroidery thread. I personally preferr the sheen of rayon thread. When I first started I bought just enough basic colors to get me to the next Joann's sale of "50% off all thread". Then I started collecting other colors buying 10-20 spools of the 250yd spools, what ever my budget would allow. Then when I had all the colors I wanted from Joann's (they don't carry ALL that Sulky offers) I would purchase a few a month from www.uncommonthread.com. I don't use the pre-filled bobbins. I figure that since I am not in a home based embroidery business where the convenience might factor in I'll just wind my own bobbins with my favorite bobbin thread. Though I am contemplating getting what called the "Side Winder" which is a gadget that winds bobbins separate from your machines. I think Hancock sells them for under $20....It makes sense to me. Nana
