This is so cute. I love it. I love bargain hunting!
:cool1: I just wanted to come on here and "toot my own horn" as dh would say. Yesterday I learned how to use my machine, and today I finished three pillowcase dresses (actually 1 dress & 2 tops) and one circle skirt!!! I even changed the bobbin with matching colored thread for everything!!!!!! I will post pics later, cause I'm just so thrilled that I actually finished something!!!
Way to go. You should be very proud of yourself. I don't think I could ever do that.
Well, here it is:

And, here is Lydia wearing it. Even though the picture is fuzzy, feel free to tell me how adorable she is! :rotfl2:

Awww! She is precious. I love your skirt too.

Here is my dd. Excuse the pictures...it's bedtime so we didn't fix her hair or anything.

I did contact the seller. I haven't heard back.

I had to laugh at the bottom picture! Did you tell her to cry? Oddly enough I like it MUCH better on, but still not what you usually put her in! She is still adorable though!

Oh! I am so sorry! What a bummer! I see your point about the shirt and pants, it doesn't match at all without some purple somewhere. I don't like the jumper thing either, or whatever it is called. The pants, are well okay. I hate for someone to be disappointed though! The NBC outfit was adorable!

The difference I notice between this and what you usually buy is the detail! This is so simplified compared to what you like! I hope you find something else! I can applique goliath real cute and JoJo's head (never tried her whole body) but I can't, well don't ever, make the outfit it goes on.

What a bummer! I feel like I bought it and am disappointed oddly enough! Relist it though, it will sell I am sure!

Thanks! I think you nailed it... it seems so plain and not very well thought out. I don't know what she was thinking:confused3 .

Hi all! Just wanted to drop in and say hi!
Everyone's stuff is looking so great!! I am going to have to try the tulle skirt, it seems easy enough. LadyRob, the Minnie outfit was outstanding!! And whoever it was that had the great pink & black Mickey outfit...I am SOO in love with it!!! The Little Pony skirt is really cute (as is your DD! ;) ). Tink, I can see what you're saying about the JoJo outfit...It's not as cute as the other ones that you have BUT it's still pretty darn cute on your DD! I do have to admit, not to crazy about the purple JoJo t-shirt either. I still haven't had time to sew (but yet I have time to be Dis-ing  ). I driving DH crazy buying fabrics and everything but not doing a thing with it yet!!! Oh well...keep up the great work everyone!!!

How much is the tulle at Walmart?

I'm thinking it was only $1 or $2, but like I said that was the rougher stuff. The finer stuff might be more, I don't know.

Tink561:
I agree that it does look better on, but the shirt is only so-so. Definitely not what we're used to seeing on her! The top is cute, but not "over-the-top" and not comparible to the NBC or IASW outfits. I hope you hear from the seller, and can return it so they can sell it to someone else. Then you can continue your search for the perfect one! :thumbsup2

I may do Pluto in fun foam (hate hate hate, piecing fabric and dont have a zig zag on my machine) and put him on with that Stick it Again stuff. so I can interchange the critters

What is "Stick it Again stuff" I tried googling Stick it Again and got some weird movie.....I'm guessing it's some kind of glue that you can reuse or something? Sounds really cool, because I wanted to make some appliques for the girls' jeans, but they of course want a different pair for every top, and well, we just don't need that many pairs of blue jeans! So I was thinking of using snaps to change them....but of course that would mean they'd need to be basically the same size/shape and that's too limiting....

If you have a link to somewhere to buy it that would be wonderful! Thanks!

the material used in this outfit is awful. I don't know what is going on in that. too many patterns going on. and that material is cheap $2 a yard fabric. I don't like it at all. what did the original look like she made. Where did you find the seller?
Lori

I'm really bummed:sad1:

I finally got the JoJo's Circus set in the mail today from the Ebay seller that made my Nightmare Before Christmas set. I don't like it. It's not attractive and it does not live up to the same quality of the first set I purchased. I won't let my dd wear it. It's really bad.:sad1:

Now I'm out $80.00 and still in need of a JoJo outfit.

Hi Tink. I have to say I must agree with you. It does not quite fit with the other outfits you have posted in the past. Sorry you are dissapointed, I hate seeing money go like that. I would love to see the NBC set if you feel like posting it. Perhaps there is a way you could modify it to look a bit more like it. The T-shirt background being a different color would drive me nuts too.

No prob!
It is by Aleene's and actually called Tack-it Over and Over. It used to be called stick it again so I still get strange looks when I ask for it at a craft store. Sorry about the confusion. It is really neat stuff. Kinda like you figured. A glue that you spread on the back of an applique (or other things--be surprised what it holds..lol) The thinner the material the better the hold tho. Let it dry for about an 2 hours or more if possible and then blot it on the back of your hand and throw that puppy on whatever you want. To store them inbetween uses, just put it on a piece of glass or plexiglass(anything smooth and non-porus)

It usually lasts about 3 or so uses then you have to reapply it. On adult stuff I just stick it on but for my DD4 I usually put a stitch or 2 in just in case(dont plan on using THAT needle again.:lmao: ) The stuff is viscious on certain objects, very very sticky. IF you use a brush to put it on, take my advice and toss the brush. I use my finger to spread it on smaller stuff.

OH and it WILL stay sticky for a LOOOONNNNNGGG time if you dont use it to apply to material ....EXP.....I had some on top of a plastic craft box from our 2005 trip (was using it as a dip in for brushing on a tiny area too small for my finger) I pulled out that box this past winter (I really need to organize my craft stuff) and it was still sticky.
I will be posting something I used it on soon as I finish handmaking a ribbon ruffle. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING...so I am muddling along:lmao: I like my fingers and dont trust myself to run it thru the machine to ruffle it:lmao: Give me a few days and I will show you how it holds stuff. Like I said I love the stuff and it works great. Reminds me of the Aleene's Tacky Glue but on Steroids.:rotfl:

Well I just reuqested the same type of outfit that the NBC outfit was.

She chose the fabric so I never saw it before it arrived. I guess I just trusted her from the work she had done on the other one. I won't do that again.

Tink,
The NBC outfit is too cute! I would have believed that she could make a Jojo outfit just as fabulous. I too am a little suprised at what she sent you. Here's a group hug! :grouphug:

Now send Bowznstuff an email as fast as you can. I know one of her outfits will make you feel better. :thumbsup2 OR do you already have all of them? :rotfl:

I just posted two pics of the NBC set. I think it's cute even though it's a little simpler than most of what we have purchased. The Jojo set is just not good... I really hope I can get my money back. I did learn a hard lesson. There are only two sellers that I have dealt with that I will ever give creative authority to again. I think I'll stick to bidding on sets that I *see* and like on Ebay.

:rotfl2: I don't have all of them! I *want* all of them though.;) Did you see the Rapunzel set that Cree had on Ebay? I bought that one. That is the only one I have that you haven't seen here. I will post a picture tomorrow. That will make me feel better. :thumbsup2

I'm having a hard time believing that the NBC and JoJo came from the same person. I'm now scanning Ebay to try and find a Jojo set. We're having breakfast with her, Gracie loves her and I already have the bracelet and necklace. I must have an outfit!:sad2:

I am tired of ruffling. Besides, I need at some point to find my orange spool of thread and get some sleep. Tomorrow (0r is that today?????) is yet another day to craft to my heart's content. Nite all.

I usually lurk more than I reply, but had to comment on the JOJO outfit. I must say I think the color of the JoJo outfit is what's wrong with it. The color isnt right for your daughters skin tone. She makes the outfit cute, but it doesnt do anything for her. Its a one way relationship there!

My youngest daughter is part Asian and those colors wouldnt look good on her either. :scared: The black NBC outfit is a perfect color for her complexion and she is gorgeous in it! :goodvibes

I agree I would have been dissapointed after having bought the NBC outfit. One of the first rules of doing custom work for someone is to keep them in the loop during the design process. She should have sent you a picture of the fabrics for your approval before she made the outfit. :sad2:

I am envious of the outfits you have shown us on here and I feel your dissapointment on this one. The pink ruffled one is one of my absolute favorites.:thumbsup2

Good luck on a new JOJO outfit and here's a hug for your bad day.

Someone asked about the tulle outfit. I have a couple of answers. Walmart sells it for 1.00 per yard. Not too scratchy. I would definately put shorts undrneath, simply do to the "exposing' nature of the material. Also I was told that on the red and white tulle skirt, she used about 8 yards of each!

I think what bothers me about the JoJo outfit is that, while it it very cute and I'm sure that the workmanship is good, it's not really reflective of JoJo. The font on the bodice doesn't look like the JoJo's Cirucs logo and the colors of the fabrics aren't really right. I've spent far too much time thinking about this because I want to do a JoJo outfit for my daughter. Okay, what I really want is the $300 outfit that was posted on ebay a few weeks ago, but since that's not going to happen I want to make one similar to that. The colors in that one were right on.

Tink, I agree about the Jo-Jo outfit. I just don't the colors are right and I don't think the t-shirt matches the pants. It is just nothing compared to the NBC outfit and the others that you have purchased! I wish you luck in trying to doing something with the seller. Keep us updated on how it goes!
