Castle Creations- loved the shirred back on the halter. My 2 yr old is a tiny peanut- I think that style may work better for her...although I may have to get my mom to help me out on that one!

I am working on my Walmart dress- we had to take it in a lot for our small fry- but we are getting there!
The WalMart dresses were less than $5 to whomever asked!

Hi, the bows are pretty easy to make. It's fun making them yourself. I think someone posted a link to make the bows. It's pretty informative and has tons of styles and pictures. If anyone has the link, can you post it again. Thanks...

I think this is the bow-making site that was mentioned previously: http://bowdesigns.50webs.com/ Lots of different styles, etc.

If you're interested in making the "korker" curly bows, I like these instructions: http://ribbonqueen.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=67&products_id=338

I don't have either of these machines, however I have a couple ideas for you. I have a babylock decorator's choice machine. It is fabulous. I just can't even tell you how much I love it. It is not an embroidery machine but does hundred's of decorative stitches. I have been looking at the babylock elegante embroidery machine. It is around $8,000, but I was offered a floor model at half that. I suggest you look at a specialty sewing store that offers babylocks and bernina as oppossed to brothers. They have tons of cartridges that are disney, also the elegante allows you to download computer images directly on to it. It is a fabulous machine. I just thought you may want to look at them before you decide. If it were up to me I would go with a babylock.

Have you looked at Viking Husqvarna machines? There is a really nice one thats a Designer I, its around $3500 and you don't need software to download designs onto your machine. You can download them off of the web and put them on a usb stick straight to your machine. You can purchase the 4D software if you want to do custom designs and that runs about $350 for basic and I think around $1300 for full studio of stuff.

I purchased a Viking Rose through resale. It cost me $400 and another $200 to be able to put designs from the web onto my machine. I figure for $600 its a good starter machine and I'm not sure how much I'll be into the sewing. You can get one of these off ebay for around the same price or less if you want to go with a starter machine. I can always sell my Rose later and use that money towards a designer I if I want later.

HTH

We have the Disney ped180. It was discontinued not long ago for the $4000 one you were looking at. I think it was around $1000. I know I've seen them on EBAY, but you may find some at Sewing Machine stores. You can also get the attatchement to download your own designs. I think it's around $200.

Disneymomej: I have a Bernina-the artista but I never have liked the way that it sews. However,I spoke to a lady who sells Babylock and she was a doll,so I'll check into it. Thank-you.

giasmom: The guy who sells the Brother machine also sells Viking Husqvarna. I love to watch Martha's sewing room and I believe she uses a Viking Husqvarna.

Sally:I can't find the Disney ped 180. Is that the Brother number or maybe a software number?

Thanks ladies for the suggestions. I'll run to town tomorrow and take a look at these machines

Where do you buy beads at Disney? Any chance there is an online store for all these cuties? What other great things are there to get to make all these great clothes? Fabrics? Appliques?

Gosh, I'm feeling like I need to make a trip to WDW just to buy stuff to get ready to go to WDW.....:rotfl2: I just don't think my DH would see the logic in this.

Sorry, we had company come in Saturday and I have missed so much since then! Including my tuesday make a pair of overalls day!

Anyways, catching up now. The beads are in most of the gifts shops (hotel) and a few others around the parks, in a big display like thing where you can make bracelets, necklaces and keyrings. They are something like $.85 each now (not positive, the price went up then came back down a little). They have zillions to choose from. As far as I know that is the only place to get them, unless someone on ebay was selling some. I only bought 2 knowing my husband would not be crazy about DS having a necklace!

I do have several from making us keychains every time, it is an addiction!

Does anyone have the Mickey sewing machine? I've seen it at WalMart. I don't remember the price, but it was expensive. If you have this, is it worth the money? What "extras" can you do?

TIA!

I have the Brother Disney 2002D sewing machine! I paid about 10x what walmart's little one was and worth every penny! I had company the past 4 days and made 5 shirts! Darn! Should have taken pictures. It was my sister in law and she loves to sew but doesn't have an embroidery machine, after this week she'll be purchasing one!

I mainly now just sew on it. I can only embroider so much stuff. We have blankets, sweatshirts, tshirt and pillowcases all over the place! Whenever someone comes though I make stuff for them! It is a big hit. I've had it 5 years and could now start again doing older stuff for DS, just haven't have the time!

ETA: My machine will take a disc from the computer where I can transfer designs, the smaller ones only take the cards and they are $100 each. I got the bigger one for this reason so I could have so many more options. I feel the smaller one would not have been good for me. And now thinking about it I am wondering, Can you not sew on the smaller disney embroidery machines? Mine I can do either and love that feature. I have taken mine with me on vacation before and would hate to have to tote 2 machines just to make something.

Hi -

I have made a simple outfit for my neice - i made some ribbon flip flops - any ideas of something to put in the center of the flip flop thong part - i just think it needs something, but not a bow.....i was looking for some type of mickey icon head or something - any ideas? thanks!!

Is there room for 3 buttons? Make your own Mickey head!

I'm sorry, It's a Brother Disney model PD180D. Sorry, I screwed that all up. I have seen them on Ebay when I go to look for software for it. Hope that helps. Sally

I can't sew on mine, it just does the embroidery. It has several Micky in the machine, then you need to buy additional cards. You can get an attatchement to download designs from the computer. We have the Disney Brother PD180.

Thanks! I'm off to ebay.

Okay...These are my first efforts towards doing anything creative. They are just bows but my DD likes them and that's all that matters. Sorry for the picture quality.

Very nice!! I've made one, but couldn't find any hair clips. I have to make a trip to Hobby Lobby next week to get some. I'll make more when I get the clips, then I'll post pics ... maybe!

The bows are adorable!!!! You should be very proud of yourself!!

The only tip that I can give is (if you don't already know it) to invest in some Fray Check for the ribbon ends. This will keep the ribbon ends from fraying and keep them looking great!! You can buy the Fray Check at Wal-Mart or any craft store.

I finally have some pics to post---I am at a computer that actually works today! These are all bought off of ebay. I am still working on my 2 that I am embellishing--Walmart dress and Kmart overalls.

I was in JoAnne Fabrics and they have the red and white with the large dot fabric. It was with the quilting fabric, which I thought was odd. Hope it helps someone.
