Tink will you pm the sellers you use? I'd love to check out all the outfits but I never seem to find as good a ones as you do. thanks!

Hi Ladies!
I have just been LOVING all the great pics ya'll have been posting...but I have a dilemma...

I have only 1 daughter and 3 sons. My DD is almost 8, and is much more interested in "trendy" clothes vs. cute... I can no longer get any of the gorgeous hairbows in her hair.. but she will wear headbands, clips, etc

Does anyone have suggestions for Disney Boutique-esq clothes for my "not so little" little girl? I am *really* missing her toddler days when I see all these outfits!

also, I really try to match all 4 kids when we are at Disney.. any suggestions for BOY clothes (ages: 9, 3 and 1)? I just generally take the "easy" way and match their t-shirts.

Can anyone help me out?

THANKS!

You are all so talented. I have a closet full of fabric for our WDW trip but have not had the time to start -- you are all giving me some great ideas though. Keep em coming

I am working on a Hannah Montana outfit now. I will post pics. when I get it done.

Does she like any of the princesses? I made a pillowcase dress out of some really cute Pooh fabric, but my dd5 thinks it is kinda babyish (it probably is:sad1: ) so I am going to make a more trendy skirt that she can wear with a tank top. I am appliqueing the name "Hannah Montana" on a black tank and making a twirl skirt out of a bunch of funky prints.

I think you could also make some really cute bermuda shorts out of some different character fabric and make a headscarf (headband with the longer ties) to go with and just have her wear a tank.

Older girls are tough. I have a nine year old and I am afraid that our "boutique" days are behind us. My five year old is just on the edge:sad2: . Sad thing is that now that I don't have a 2 year old running all over my house, I actually have time to sew! I guess I am going to have to start making some stuff for ebay.

I've been looking on ebay for Disney pillowcases and the majority of the ones I found have the pictures sideways on the case. I can't make one from scratch, so I was wondering how you get around that?

I was thinking the same thing about the fabric when I made mine. I made my pillowcase dress from scratch, but if I'd been making an actual pillowcase, I would have had the design run horizontally instead of vertically.

I don't know how to get around it. Most of the pillowcase dresses I've seen that are made from actual pillowcases either have an all-over pattern or have embroidery along the edge only.

I do wonder though why you can't make a pillowcase from scratch? I totally don't mean to be rude by questioning it (so I hope you don't think I am), but if you've got enough sewing skills to do the neck and arms of a pillowcase dress, you've got more than enough skills to make the pillowcase. All you really need to do is make a tube of fabric and hem one end.

I don't think you're being rude, and I probably could do it, but I would have to do everything by hand or use my serger. I have a machine, but don't have a clue about how to use it. I just don't have the confidence to try!

I hear ya. My girls are 7 and 5. My oldest wouldn't wear these outfits. She loves them and thinks they are cute for her sister. I can see my 5 yo in some of these, but not others. My oldest likes scooters and tees. She also likes things that are pink and sparkly, so I found some hot pink knit fabric on the clearance aisle with silver glitter in it. I am going to make a scooter for her out of that. I'm also taking a plain white t-shirt and adding ribbon to the shirt. One ribbon is pink with white dots, and the other (smaller) ribbon is black with white dots. On top of that I am going to put a guitar made of our rhinestones. The guitar comes from a store bought (hot pink) shirt that my dd loved and wore constantly until it back too stained and worn for her to wear in public. I cut the guitar out and am going to attempt to applique it on top of the new shirt. I was going to use a satin stitch with silver thread. She will love it. I'm calling it her Rockin Rollercoaster outfit since that is one of her favorite rides. Hope it turns out.

Same problem in my house! I have a dd7, and then ds who are 4 and almost 1. What I'm doing is making jeans and skirts for my dd. Okay I'm not making them, I'm buying them :rotfl2: For the boys I plan to make things (jeans and tee for big boy, overalls for little boy) with pirates, mickey, or toy story on them. For matching days I'll have the boys in mickey and the girl in minnie. They will be very similar but not exact. I also went to the DISign board and had some designs for tees make there that the kids will all wear.

Here are some things I just bought dd online:

I have 3 kids, DD7, DS5 and DS1. I just discivered this boutique clothing obsession a week ago. I have spent the last week trying to figure out what to dress my kids in next spring. I am not a great sewer, so I have been tryin to find ideas that are more crafty. For my DD, I plan to get a High School Musical shirt (or iron on transfer) and put music not appliques on the back of shorts. Another idea would be to get iron on letters to spell out TROY on the back. She still likes Minnie stuff, so she will probably get a tshirt with a minnie applique. I also plan to cut off some of her jeans into shorts (they already have holes in the knees) and put the ribbons on them as in previous posts. She also loves Jack Sparrow, so I plan to do some sort of pirate shorts when Halloween fabric somes out. For my sons, I plan to make some shorts out of Disney fabric and applique matching mickey appliques on tshirts. Another idea I was thinking about was to get a green shirt and put an eye on it for Mike from Monsters. I have found fabric glue to work well. I'm not sure how well I will be able to sew appliques on. Any suggestions for making it easier??

The easist way I have found is to secure the applique on first with glue or iron-on adhesive and then just stitch around it with a tight zig zag stitch. So you're really not "sewing" it on, but you can give it the look of an applique. It's pretty easy just to stitch around the borders, and I am a BAD seamtress!

Another "cheat"ers outfit!

WalMart has a red polka dot halter dress for less than $5! How cute would that be with a Mickey or Minnie applique and some ribbon trim...I might even add one of those fluffy "tutu" skirts underneath for a fun look!

I just bought 2 today. Now to figure out what a sewing-challenged person can do with them to "Minnie" them up.

Oh I will look tomorrow! Is it something new they have or is it clearance? Under $5 sounds like a bargain! :thumbsup2

It was $4.44 and that was the regular price--not on clearance. It has a cute little bow where your sternum would be. I was thinking of taking this off, somehow attaching a Minnie head, and then sewing the bow back on Minnie's head. I think I have someone who could sew the head on for me. Should I glue it down first?

I am sure this has been covered on here before, so if someone can be kind enough to direct me there....

I have two sons, 4 and 2........anything cute out there for them besides the usual t-shirts??? Thanks

I picked up three a couple a weeks ago. They are really cute!
I also picked up some Disney t-shirts. They are really cute and cheap.
I'll post as soon as I can.
