Has anyone here listed anything on ebay lately to sell? I am considering putting the Winnie the Pooh pillowcase dress I made my dd up to sell and am wondering if it is going to be worth the trouble. Dd would rather have a skirt. I think she's too cool for a pillowcase dress now that she is the big 5!

I listed the outfit I posted pictures of yesterday too. I have never listed before that except ones I made my son. I have always done very well though and got more requests to make different sizes.

Does anyone know of a pattern for the twirl skirts, like Simplicity or McCalls, or would I have to look in YCMT? I have never ordered one of their patterns and don't know how easy they are to follow. I just love this thread --really inspiring.

Try this link. (I hope it works.) http://sew-whats-new.com/CMS/content/view/211/46/

If it doesn't, just copy and paste. Sew-Whats-New is a great forum. I've been lurking a few weeks, but I could spend so much time reading and "researching" all these cute patterns that I never actually make any.

Very cute outfits everyone. I'm clearing off my sewing table today and am going to get working on some more. For those of you who have done these cute outfits, I have a question. How many fabrics do you feel comfortable putting together? I love the twirl skirt LadyRob bought, and wouldn't have put those fabrics together, but they look great. I went to Hancock yesterday, and was just having a terrible time matching fabrics. I was just stuck with solids and and simple patterns. Also, haw many main colors will you put together? I'm wanting to do a skirt in our college's colors, but don't know if I should stick with just the 2 colors ( plus white) or add some more.

Thanks for the inspiration everyone. Can't wait to add some pics of my own.

I think I had this on my watch list!! (which is huge!)

I know a lot of time goes into the customs but some people are really charging way way too much for things!

I made a twirl skirt and ribbon socks :goodvibes

I've cut out the pattern for one more dress and then that's it for this trip. As it stands now DD will have 4 "fancy" outfits and we're only doing the parks for 3 days, lol!!! I have a white tank top for her to wear with the skirt but I'm looking for iron on rhinestones so I can make a Mickey outline on the top. so far the only ones I've seen are already fashioned into words, etc. Any ideas?

I'll try to take a picture of my little darling in her new skirt once she's up from her nap.

I got the halloween skirts from a well known seller on ebay. PM me if you want to know who. The halter set was a resell on ebay also from a prominent seller. The overalls were from a friend in CA. She had them made when a ebayer was getting $250 or more for Minnie o'alls. I think she might have paid $85 for materials and seamstress' time but this included a jacket too. Ebay prices can be SCARY!

graciegirlie,
Your outfits are adorable! Did you find these outfits on ebay? I love the halloween skirt!

:lmao: I know what you mean. I spent about $300 on Courtney's Aladdin outfit and once I got it I swore I would never spend that amount of money on an outfit again...and I haven't! I have learned shortcuts and how to do it myself and the outfits look identical!

The Cinderella outfit I'm making went for over $400 on Ebay....$400?!?!?! :scared: And I'm making it for about $25.

IT kills me what some seller's outfits go for! Then other's that are made just as well go for dirt cheap. I usually go for resells as they go for alot cheaper. I have 4 kids so I have to budget. Plus spending $$ on an outfit they are wearing to a theme park is kind of scary! I want something that is cute but I wont be out much if it gets messed up and I cannot resell.

Hello all, just looked through all of the MANY pages of adorable outfits you all have made. Here's the Cinderella dress I made my daughter...I also made a sleeping beauty dress, but just realizing I don't have any pics. I'll have to take one and post it...

Did you make the Cinderella outfit to sell on eBay or did you get the idea from eBay? Have you posted a picture on here? I'm always looking for good ideas, especially Cinderella!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Hi! I actually BID on the Cinderella outfit that eventually went for $400. It had a buy it now on it for a little over $200 and I didn't have the money at the time, so I put my bid at the buy it now price, thinking that no one would outbid me. Well, lo and behold, it sold for $400 and I could NOT believe it!

After the auction ended, I thought to myself "I can make that outfit..." I can put together outfits, but can't do actual princesses, so a friend of mine helped with her embroidery machine.

So, technically, yes the idea came from Ebay, but I'm putting the outfit together. I haven't posted a picture on here yet because it is still at the embroiderer's. Once I receive it back and put it together, I'll post.

Back with pictures of a little someone in her new skirt. I think I might go with a black tank and red rhinestones on the top. and yes...she has on 2 different laces!! i was trying to see which looked better...fluffy red or regular. i like red. this was my first twirl skirt and i love it! i'm going to make a tutu for underneath to give it a little more pouf.

I made the shoes, socks, skirt and bows :)

How tough were the socks to make? Any instructions? Thanks! The whole outfit is very cute, and I love your daughters silly face!

Sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie. Does anyone have ideas why I can't see the picture I posted now?

Somebody saw it because they commented on it (thanks), but now I don't see it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

The socks were easy!! I found the FREE instructions on a bow website somewhere but I can't remember the name, nor did I save it  BUT I do have the e-book saved so I can email it to anyone that would like it. They literally took 10 minutes!! You need a pair of socks, ribbon and a sewing machine. PM me if you'd like the e-book and I'll put a list together of everyone that wants it and send it out.

I've been away for a few days, but I went back to look at the picture you posted and I can't see it either. Here's my guess (but only a guess) about what could have happened:

When you post photos to this board, you have to "host" your photo someplace else (like Photobucket, etc.) That means that the picture isn't really part of your post -- it just links back and shows the photo that's on your host site. If you remove the photo from the host site, it also removes it from your post.

I'm guessing that your pic was somehow deleted from your hosting site. Some people saw it before it was deleted, but now it's gone.
