Hi..No, I didn't do the Epcot shirt yet....:rolleyes1 Someday....I saw the fabric again yesterday and had a new idea. It's still Epcot, but I thought of making something that incorporated all of the Disney parks. Like the Epcot ball, Cinderella's Castle, Tree of Life, and the Hat from MGM. Anyway, I think the only way they would be durable is to make overalls, something I swore I'd never do again. :lmao:
But yesterday I made 3 tee shirts, with the black Mickey head for 3 little girls. Those are fun to make. I like doing the embroidery.
Today my 5 year old is testing my patience. 2+1 is 21 according to her. Did I mention that she is gifted? She can recite anything she hears, 50 states, presidents, ect...(she doesn't get this from me) so needless to say, I am very disappointed in her Math ability and her ability to reason. She believes she's right, no matter what you tell her. Anyway, after a mommy break, and her sitting in her Jail (ahem) room...we were able to continue our lessons. (I homeschool) and yes, I'm crazy, I'm in nursing school, homeschool the kids, and sew for a living...Yup, crazy.:clown:
Way OT, anyway, it is nice to see everyone's creations. I look forward to getting online and coming to this thread. I hate when folks have to focus on the negative. But there are always a few. I guess they get bored and leave and go bother someone else. :sad2:

I LOVE this thread! I have to get in on the fun a little. We went last year, so I have a few things DD has outgrown. We have a September trip planned, and I have about 7 outfits in the works! I'm a little obsessed about it!

This is an outfit I ordered on eBay. Pictures don't do it justice - it's so cute and well made!

These jeans I got off eBay too. So cute! I wish I was 1/2 that talented!

Overalls I made DD for Animal Kingdom, but she's long since outgrown. :sad1: They have "JAMBO" down the leg, like they say at AK. :)

Fabric I found to make a halter and shorts set.

So cute!

I love the blue on your outfits. Did you find that at Joann's? I found that stripe, and it doesn't go perfecrly, but I like it. I love the swirl fabric too, but I haven't found it anywhere. I saw the set on eBay and I just had to get it. The colors are so cute.

I got the Mickey head fabric at Hancock's and found the solid blue there as well. The blue is a perfect match! I bet they would have this blue at JoAnn's as well, it is just a broadcloth material. Our JoAnn's had that Mickey swirl pattern (like your outfit) and I almost made the exact same outfit that you bought (I have that pattern). It is just too adorable!!

Also, haven't shared this here but I had my daughter Easter's dress made (as usual) this year and it was Cinderella. I just looove how it turned out and when my DD has it on she says "oooh mommy, it's Cindalella" and then she has to twirl aroudn in it!! Here's a pic!

If you can't tell, the circle in the middle is a clock and it is at midnight. And, just to the right of Cinderella is her lost slipper. I just loooove this dress and we get tons of compliments on it when she wears it!!

I have those exact fabrics and pattern just waiting for me! I need to figure out my button hole on the sewing machine first. Very frustrating!! I made a really cute mickey head dress for DD and can't figure out the button holes!!

Funny thing, with as many outfits that I have made -- I have never done a button hole (don't know how). I just do other things to get around it. If you don't want to do the button hole on it you could always do a cut little tie closure!!

I have always avoided button holes out of fear, now that I've dedicated some time, I know how to do them. Zippers...forget it. Who needs a zipper anyway? :rotfl:

Ok I have the same fabric too and haven't started on it yet either!!! Please tell me what pattern that is!?!?!?! It is too cute!! I have a basic short/shirt pattern I was going to do but I love this one sooo much more!!!

Thanks!!!!

P.s. I also have the matching stripe fabric...can't figure out what to do with it yet...any ideas out there? :)

Here is my dress for my daughter to wear to BBB later this month. I am still learning and have not gotten into any of the more intricate things yet but I hope to get there. The other is a tshirt I made her since she loves the tinkerbell fairies and since she is older it works I know that she would not wear all the cute things I see.

I saw the cute swirl parttern at JoAnne's last night, $10 a yard though! I left it sitting there! They had the other blue/green but it was blue and red and I really wanted the blue/green to match our bedroom!

I ended up with stripes for Bert and Ernie's shirts and that was it. Really just went in for Heat N Bond. I have some silver and did Oscar's Trash Can with it, just love it! It would be great for the Epcot Ball.

As for button holes, I just do a close zigzag, my button holer seems to never work right for some reason. I have found the other so simple, they aren't always exact but no one can notice. It has been years since I did a button hole though. I don't do much real sewing, mainly just applique the week before we are leaving.

I have NEWLOOK number 6689. I'm pretty sure I bought it at Walmart. The envelope says they have a website: www.newlookpatterns.com

The dress is super cute! I have a question about your shirt -- is it an iron-on transfer or what?

I know if you go to Disigns. There are tons of these designs. They will even make one for you, with your or your childs name. I have never seen so many designs in one place before...incredible...very talented people there.

how did you do the buttons? i made a super cute dress that's the same style as that one, but a shorter skirt part, and I can't figure out the "easy one step button hole" option on my machine. anyone know what else I could do?
