Those are adorable! So, do you all let your dc wear the outfits for other occasions or just Disney? It seems a waste to save them just for the one special occasion but I'm afraid to let her wear them and risk messing them up.

BTW, I lost the link to the site for your dresses. Would you send it to me again?

thanks!

Okay, I checked w/ the person that I bought them from to make sure it was okay if I posted it :) So, here is her website http://www.adorableduds.com/store/

I bought mine from her off ebay and I think she has a link to her auctions.. one of the sets was a custom so I'm sure she'd be happy to work w/ you one what you want.. she was SUPER nice!

That is great you were able to post that. Thanks! I will file her shop away for the day I have a girl. Dh is happy he has a frugal wife...he has no idea what would happen if we had a Dd. :rotfl:

Hi all. I have enjoyed this thread so much. All the clothes are so cute. I'm working on Easter dresses now, but as soon as they're done, I'll be working on some of these fun clothes.

Anyway, I just wanted to let ya'll know. I was in Hancock Fabrics today, and I bought the Minnie material (red background with white dots). It is normally $3.99/yard. It was scanning $1.20/yard. I was told it was being discontinued and that's why it was so cheap. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know.

I wish I was a seamstress!!!! These dresses and girls are sooo cute! I cant wait til Ava Grace is 2 for our trip next year!
Do any of you know if anyone here does "resale" on their dresses? I am sure they are hard to part with....but you never know! Thanks!!!

I finally gave the overalls a try, with help from instructions provided by Shamiki.
DD didn't want the pant legs super ruffly, but she did ask for a skirt to be attached. She loves the outfit. Normally she wouldn't wear overalls, but she told me last night that she loves wearing these and could I please make her a Rapunzel pair.....

Very Cute! Great Job!!:flower3: jen

I also love this thread...but I need help.

I want to try some Minnie and Mickey overalls. I have looked everywhere for a pattern for the Mickey head/ears silhouette (like overalls in pp). I'm crafty but not a very good artist. I was hoping to find a pattern so the dimensions would be right. I'm afraid I'll get the ears all out of wack!

I have the same "circle/ear" dilemma. What do people use for their pattern? I really just want to start with the one big circle for head, and two small circle type ears, but don't want the poor guy to look lopsided. Actually I will be doing a girl on a t-shirt.

For that I take cans or jars or lids and trace them, just do the big one first on paper, then keep trying smaller ones for ears until you get it right. It really is easier then you think. I always worry mine will be off, but usually they are pretty darn close. A compass would work probably be easiest, but I don't even know if we have one!

look over at the creative disigns board. I found my Mickey silhouette there in one of the posts. Sorry I don't have a link!

I have saved on my computer a black Mickey in the right dimensions.

Thanks!

I printed it without a bit of trouble. I should have asked first and saved my internet searching time for something else:cloud9:

Okay...you were so much help...

Does anyone have any cute bow patterns or stuff for Minnie??

Okay...you were so much help...

Does anyone have any cute bow patterns or stuff for Minnie??

Are you wanting the bow pattern to add to the silhouette (for Minnie) or to make an applique to sew somewhere else on the material?

That is perfect! How do I print that out?

Internet Explorer = Right Click on the pix & Select "Print Image" ...

Internet Explorer And FireFox = Right Click on the pix & Select "Save Image As...", then go to where you saved it on your computer & Double click on it to open it in "Windows Picture & Fax Viewer", type & hold CONTROL & type P (OR select the printer button along the bottom of the viewer window) ...

:)

Thanks! Silly me never thought of right clicking. When I tried to do it under the file button, it was a mess. So any more ideas like this? Minnie, or Donald, or any others people use?

I like looking through clip-art sites for ideas :)

In most cases, they (clipart) are a bit more intricate than most people's applique "patterns" ...
but alot of them can be re-drawn in photoshop or another art / graphics program to be more "pattern-like" :) ...
OR re-draw it on paper after it's printed out, my girls' tracing table helps out alot for doing this (got it at Walmart for $15 or $10 last christmas)

For something simple & more pattern-like : Take a face you like, try to just trace out the outline (this will be the silhouette shape) & add the bow or hat back in, for a bit of detail ...
works wonders for almost any character :) ...

for animals that don't have hats or bows, add their most distinguishable "parts" back in (like ears, tusks, mane, spots, stripes, etc.)
