Here is one of the things I just got in for dd, she loves it! I do have a quick question though. We will be going in December and would it look weird to put leggins or jeans under it with out any fringe or fabric? The seller didn't offer pants or anything, and I can't make them, but dd really wanted this one.

I think regular jeans or leggins would look adorable under it. I wouldn't worry about it not have any fringe or fabric.

Your daughter looks so cute in it! I can tell she loves it!

Thanks! She does love it. In fact today she had a minor accident during nap time and she insisted that we wash it so she could put it back on. I think I am in trouble, she is really getting into these things! She is 3!

Welcome to the club! The addiction spreads quickly. Mine started as Disney clothing then spilled over to holidays...:rotfl:

Hello Everyone...okay here is my very first attempt at creating a patchwork skirt for my little one. This took me FOREVER and a day to complete. There are definitely some issues with it (little longer in places, gathers not quite straight, etc) :confused3 but who cares right??? My daughter loves it and had to put it on before I even completed the waistband. :lmao: Anyway, just thought I would share it on here and see what all you pros think! I am a novice when it comes to sewing so I was pretty excited it actually is wearable. Hahahahaha

It turned out great! Good job! I've been thinking of trying to make a patchwork one like that too. But, I don't know if I have the patience for it!

Oh No!!!! :scared1: I used it [heat-n-bond ultra] on the Walmart dresses for the ears and ribbon. I was going to have a friend (or my aunt) stitch them down with their machine. What are my options now? :confused3

I have semi-successfully sewn through the ultra, after making this mistake awhile back ... and the fabric I used for the applique was not replaceable ... So, I had to try something to salvage the garment. =)
At first I tried to clean the gunked up needles with my pin-cushion's tomato (used to help sharpen pins & needles) but it didn't seem to work well ... and you can't scrape the gunk off easily, either. ...
so ...
I just changed needles alot, as they became gummed up ... Doesn't have to be expensive ones, cheap-o generic needles will do = you're just trying to get the thread through, to stitch down the edges ... make sure to secure your loose thread ends every time you have to snip it to replace the needle ... it was not fun, but it worked well enough ...

& I learned my lesson ...

I ONLY use "steam-a-seam" and "under wonder" now. =)

You did a great job! You can tell dd loves it, and that is what really counts, but I think it looks wonderful from here!

That guitar shirt is ADORABLE!!!!! Can't wait to see the whole outfit when you get it finished!!!

About the spot -- no advice, I have a hard time getting any kind of stain out!

I work in retail and we keep babywipes at the counter. The alchol in it helps to get out spots.

Don't feel bad, we usually take one custom for every day of our trip, PLUS 4 or 5 extras just in case something gets spilled or dirty! I figure there could be worse things to be addicted to, lmbo!

ok, so i think i understand (thanks! youre so good at sharing/explaining your techniques). anyway, decided to put the tulle skirt on hold- dont have any tulle yet!:rotfl: went to walmart today for light bulbs (not that that matters!:) ) and strolled thru the girls clothing to see if i could get inspired. well i found a mickey tee for my dd. it had old school mickey in a rainbow outline. anyway, i bought it because i knew i had some cool stripe fabric at home that would go perfect. i get home and decide to finally try a tshirt dress using the two. i hemmed and gathered and pinned. i took one final look before i permanently joined the two and it hit me......i should make it a tulle t shirt dress (then im trying two new things at once!).

so heres my question. i have the piece of fabric hemmed at the bottom. it is my desired length (once its sewn to tshirt). i also have it gathered at top to fit tshirt. where do i go from here? i would like to take the piece of same fabric i have left and make a top layer, tulle middle layer and use the piece i hemmed (the original piece) as bottom layer. i like the look of top layer being a little smaller so more of the tulle is exposed. (i think kinda like the jojo and minnie skirt a pp gave a link to). so do i just sew all three layers together at top and then sew that to tshirt? i was thinking about leaving some room at the top of the first layer to "fold over" the tulle and other layer, so that all raw edges are kind of tucked inside. what do ya think?

sorry again for my rambling. im such a visual learner. wish one of you ladies could just come to my home and show me how to do all of this stuff! anyone vacationing in baltimore this summer?:rotfl:

thanks again for all of your help!

You can sew all three layers together, that is what I do. Then I would sew it to the shirt. Then I would zig zag all of it or serge it. Then I fold it over and stitch it down either to the skirt, or to the shirt, when I top stitch. You can use a hem tape or something to cover the rough edge, But I think if you sew it down, it won't be pokey..

:rotfl: once again....thank you castle creations for your insight and wisdom!:goodvibes by the way, could you pm me or email me lilterp@hotmail.com w/ your ebay id? im collecting the ids of all of these amazing sellers in case i can convince dh to let me splurge!

This is really cute. I'm going to have to try one. My problem is that I always have to start with a pattern, and I have one that might work. I give credit to the people that can work "freehand". Sally

Ok I need some help here please! My dd wants a belle outfit that looks like this on in the picture but only wants belle. i can't seem to find one. I can only spend $20-$25 on it. Any ideas?

Can you sew? That's probably your best bet to get it at that price. Just the material alone might be close to $20 so if you bought it from someone else they'd add on $$ for the time it took them to make it.
