Here is one of the things I just got in for dd, she loves it! I do have a quick question though. We will be going in December and would it look weird to put leggins or jeans under it with out any fringe or fabric? The seller didn't offer pants or anything, and I can't make them, but dd really wanted this one.

No, it actually looks quite cute. We wore a lot of these type dresses on out trip in January. I'd put either long or short sleeved top under dress that color coordinated, and a pair of plain jeans. If the weather got hot, we just slipped off the jeans, if it had gotten super hot, I would have taken her to the bathroom and taken off the t-shirt as well. I thought it looked adorable. She got tons of compliments. (We were at Seaworld and it was a fish print.)

Can you sew? That's probably your best bet to get it at that price. Just the material alone might be close to $20 so if you bought it from someone else they'd add on $$ for the time it took them to make it.

I don't know that I've seen fabric with just Belle on it. Has anyone else?

Your daughter sure looks adorable!!!

I need to start sewing some outfits for my daughters!

I haunt Ebay for Disney fabric. The closest I've come is a knit with Mrs. Potts and chip on it. Try looking for sheets.

Dopeysgirl, I would make sure your top layer is fuller than the bottom one so it puffs out right. It sounds really cute, I can't wait to see it!

Disneyworldmama,
I went into Walmart and bought a pillowcase that had Cinderella on one side and Belle on the other. You might be able to get a pillowcase like that and cut it out and fuse it to the front of a pillowcase dress or a pair of overalls/skirtalls. You cannot use the pillowcase I bought for a dress because it doesnt run the correct way. :sad2: If I remember correctly, it was around 10-13 dollars. I just got it to cut the pictures off and use them on something else. It is extremelly hard to find Belle, Jasmine, and Jesse. I've tried... And of course those are the ones my daughters want....

I hope this helps.:goodvibes

Hello Everyone...okay here is my very first attempt at creating a patchwork skirt for my little one. This took me FOREVER and a day to complete. There are definitely some issues with it (little longer in places, gathers not quite straight, etc) :confused3 but who cares right??? My daughter loves it and had to put it on before I even completed the waistband. :lmao: Anyway, just thought I would share it on here and see what all you pros think! I am a novice when it comes to sewing so I was pretty excited it actually is wearable. Hahahahaha

(These were just some quick pictures, I will have to take some better ones once I finish the tank top that will go with it. As you can see DD loved to twirl in it). :goodvibes

It is cute! If you don't tell anyone you made it, they will never know.:thumbsup2 I think you did a very good job on it and I love it and the shirt she has on!

It turned out great! Good job! I've been thinking of trying to make a patchwork one like that too. But, I don't know if I have the patience for it!

teresajoy - thank you! It took me quite awhile and I thought I was gonna lose my patience with it. Hahahaha. Luckli I finished it finally. :rotfl:

This is really cute. I'm going to have to try one. My problem is that I always have to start with a pattern, and I have one that might work. I give credit to the people that can work "freehand". Sally

:goodvibes Oh my goodness, I HAVE to have a pattern as well! I actually bought a pattern on www.youcanmakethis.net I give credit to those who can work freehand too! Thanks!!!

:goodvibes Thank you so much!!! Now that I actually finished the waistband it looks better. :lmao: Now on to the tank top! I have gotten all inspired since reading this thread!

I was watching that Cinderella outfit (the one that everyone was talking about 10-15 pages back) the really LOUD "different" one? Final price sold for 231.00 WOW

I was at Hancock's today and found a fabric with little children and flags of different nations all over it. I bought it to make something for Epcot day.

I am so jealous. I just bought this same fabric from Ebay for way more than it costs I'm sure. Did your store have anymore left? I'm wondering if it's worth the hour drive to mine to see if they have it in stock...Hmmm

Castlecreations,
Where is there a Hancock left near Deltona? I am traveling that way this weekend. I thought they all closed in Florida.

piperpizzaz- thanks for the tip about fuller at top for tulle skirt. im actually kind of stuck.....the only skirt i know how to make is the twirl skirt that i posted directions for a while back where you have 3 layers (2nd being twice as long as first, 3rd twice as 2nd, then you gather and sew all layers together). anyway, i like the look of graciegirls halloween skirt several pages back (short top layer, tulle showing as middle layer, then longer bottom layer), so my quesiton is could i achieve this skirt using the directions i have for the twirl skirt? how should i modify? please someone help? this is so hard for me cause im visual, not a figure it out kinda person.

also, ive never sewn tulle before. will it hold a stitch? it seems to me that the needle would go right thru the tiny holes!!

and one final tidbit....i went to walmart about 1 hr ago (sorry in advance to all those who dont have walmarts w/ fabric), but they had (not even unwrapped from plastic yet) tons of new disney fabric! i bought some ariel- turquoise background with her swimming, on rock, etc. they also had some new cars, an awesome princess (belle snow white, aurora, & cindy) that was just all of them, all over. i didnt get it because i dont know how to work w/ fabric that is an all over print like that (dont want to behead anyone on a skirt!:rotfl: ) they also had some new mickey. one in paticular brought gracie girl to mind because it was funky (still raving about those awesome funky halloween skirts!) and i thought castle creations could really work up something funky w/ it. it was pink background, with old school mickey (ya know the side body profile) and it had mickey mouse written in cool letters. i kept thinking i wish i had my camera in my purse so i could post pics when i told you all about it!:rotfl2: oh well, tomorrow is another day!:rotfl2:

anyway, those of you w/ walmart fabrics, keep your eyes peeled! and please someone help me out w/ some ideas for a cool tulle skirt pattern/ideas.

(gee, my post probably takes up a whole page!:sad2: sorry!)
