LOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT!!!!!!! We ALL loved it! There were 13 of us from 4-6 and I think everyone really had a good time!!!!HEY TERESA! How was enchanted? My 4 year old wants to see it but I didn't know if it would hold her attention. How did you guys like it?

I came across this blog on Yahoogroups, this woman has to be one of us!!Be sure to look for her mannequin with the Disney outfit on it.
No help but:Hello All,
I've been peeking in on this board for a while and have been extremely impressed with everyone's work! I am a beginner sewer, but I would like to invest in an embroidery machine before the New Year. I was hoping you guys might have some advice on what brand/machine would be the best to get.
I just want it to do basic embroidery, mostly for names, initials, etc. I have an inexpensive Singer sewing machine now, and I don't know whether to do a new sewing/embroidery combo machine or just get an inexpensive embroidery machine. Any thoughts from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
If your old Singer works for you and you're comfortable with it, I'd stick with it. The only reason I got a new one was because my 1950's Singer was getting sick and it's a good thing because it died yesterday! May she rest in peace! I'm over it, I have a new one!
I forgot to tell y'all what my son did. He called yesterday and asked what I was doing. When I told him I was playing with my new sewing machine, he got upset and said "that's great!" He then told me that he had ordered the Disney Brother SE270D from Walmart.com and was waiting for in to be restocked for shipment. I was speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all, I can't believe he would think of spending that kind of money on me, he's a hard worker and I try to encourage saving everything he can, plus he has two kids! He works really long hours especially around Christmas and I guess he had tons of overtime and really wanted to do something nice for me.
Now, I feel like a heel for asking him not to do it. It's something he really wanted to do because he knew how badly I wanted that one, and he finally had the extra money to do something nice for me. I called him today and told him that if he really wanted to do it, then go ahead and I would appreciate and cherish every minute of using it because of him. But, I also told him that if he needed to save the money, that was ok too. I am so thankful that he is so sweet and loves his mother and I hope I didn't hurt his feelings!
Now we go several times a year and even became DVC membersSo a BIG THANK YOU to ALL of the DIS'ers that I have learned SO much from. Thanks to all of you I am learning a new skill (at almost 39 yo) and DH and I have an obsession we can share together. (I always knew there was no way I'd get him into showing dogs
) You guys ROCK and I appreciate this wonderful community

BTW, thought I'd share a picture of something else one of my four legged kids gave me for Christmas. They are just a few hours old in the picture.

Please please share your stories! I love to hear all stories about how people got their kids! Your story about your kids first trip to Disney still makes me teary when I think about it!Thank you both so much. I love these 3 kids more than anything. I can not imagine them not being my children. It is sad for me to think there was a time in my life that I didnt think there was anything as good as having a biological child. I now know there was a reason God made me unable to conceive. It was to parent these 4 wonderful and beautiful children. I will have to share my adoption story sometime. I think you will all love how I "tricked" my husband into KatieTricked is not the right word I just called him and said come home I have to go pick something up

Ok...I have been looking at all these beautiful outfits that everyone is making for some time. I love to make outfits for my daughter, but I have no idea how you are all doing yours. Could you give me pointers? Where did you get the materials & patterns? Does the material come like that, or are you combining several different designs to make it like that?
I do not know how to post pictures yet, but I have been trying to figure it out, but it just isn't working, or else I would post some stuff I have done.
I would greatly appreciate any advise on the outfits though!
Much better! And, just for breaking the rules, I think you owe Heather and I a box of Girl Scout Cookies! Is it better now?
What a fabulous Dad you are Tom. You know how I feel about ya'll just "whipping" stuff up, but it was really great of you to do this for the girls. I think we should all have a slumber party at Tom's...how do you think DW would feel if we all showed up in our pj's one night???![]()

Whoohoo! Cinderella is done! I just need to do the jeans (and maybe a peasant top) and then I'll post pictures!! Emily loves it!! She is currently twirling in it. She kissed it when I showed it to her. I finished it during nap. She said (with a voice full of wonder!!) "You made that while I was sleeping?!" I should have the jeans done tonight.
My poor baby kitty. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen! My dog barked, the cat jumped straight up and his front claws were stuck in the trim over the door. It was HILARIOUS!!!
Not popular so much as obnoxiously "talkative".
I know, it's awful! You won't see her until next year![]()
OOH! I've been drooling over that machine! I am seriously contemplating the PE700ii that is at HSN. Though, I'm holding out right now until I can get in touch with a dealer to see if the PE750D has a USB port. I really want that! If I find that it has a port, I think I'm going for it! Please let us know how you like your machine. I'm dying to know!
Hey, does anyone here know if you can use a cricut to cut fabric for appliques? Or is it paper only?
I used my PE700 this evening to do a design on a Tee shirt for one of my DGD whom I live with and I LOVE IT!!!!Just to let you know, the PE750 which is the Disney version of the PE700 (will read Disney Cards) does not have a USB port. So far only the PE700ii has the port. I did not need to get one with a port because I still have my PED-Basic which writes to a card. (Alikat99 got one clearanced at Wally World for use with the PE150 I gave her). But if you can get the machine with a port then you don't have to get the card Reader/writer as an add on (the PED-Basic runs about $120.00 now). Both the PE150 and my new PE700 are both wonderful at applique! I just sit back and drink my coffee and watch it go..

Heads up for all the scrapboookers out there...
If you have a Recollections store near you, you might want to run over there and check out whether they are closing or not, the one near me is, and everything was 20% off. I managed to grab some nice Disney papers (while my DH was fussing about it) for really cheap, including some Chef Mickey paper. I'd never seen it before, it's really cute, it could be used for any character meal it doesn't say Chef Mickey's on it.
I bought a lined tote bag pattern yesterday because we're trying to get Delaney back into her own bed, she likes having a bag to put her teddy and flashlight in when she comes across the house to my bedroom. I had her pick out the fabric she wanted so it looks like I'll be making a Tweety bag and she asked for a top to be made out of the same stuff so I got enough. I picked up one of those For Dummies patterns and I am perplexed by the pattern but I haven't started yet but it looks confusing. I'll probably be here asking for help or I might just butcher it myself.
So excited that I saw this thread!!! I have 2 little boys (2 & 5) and we are going to WDW in March 2008. I have been collecting things and ideas of clothing to take for them. (I am bad about dressing them alike all the time).
My aunt handpaints clothing so I was able to get a lot of ideas from this thread! I am super excited now!!!
I spent over an hour today going through this thread and still didn't get to all of the pages!! LOL!Guess what I'll be doing tonight?? My DH thinks I am nuts!!
OH Hooray!! Welcome to the new little one! I hope you are feeling well and getting as much rest as possible.
Here is the overall I had made for his 2nd birthday and for Sesame street live. He loves them!! I can't wait to see the ones my aunt makes him with the Fab 5 on them!!

Castle - my daughter thinks she needs a dress like Ireland's Belle dress... I don't think I can make that YET!!!! But I guess I am going to have to practice![]()
I have to share this with you all - when I shared with Dh he just smiled and said yes dear like I belonged in a mental hospital or something for being soooooo excited. I got everything in the picture below for $29.06, we have a Joann's store thats closing here in Orlando and even though the fabric isn't worth it for me (only 40% off and there's a two yard minimum cut - unless you buy what's left on the bolt then it's 50% off) th buttons, trims and patterns were a STEAL!!! I think it came out to be 15 patterns 29 packages of rick rac and bias tape and then some buttons too....
