THese are wonderful. I would love to see more pictures. What fabric is used in the bodice of the animal print dresses? Do you have a close up?
It looks like you all had a lot of fun!
Thanks for all the comments!! I love the new AK outfits that Nana made, and the CMs at AK and AKL really loved them.

Here's the best that I could do with the close up of that fabric. I just cropped one of the photos. It's a safari-type map fabric.

Oh, and Nana is doing well!! She's been pretty busy since her broken arm healed making stuff for people (and the girls of course). Maybe I can get her back on here and posting again soon!!

Whoohoo!! I finally got Christmas pictures uploaded - before New Years too!

We went to my sisters on Christmas Eve for perogi and to open presents!! Not many pics. from this night. Matthew was so excited, he started opening before we got all the presents passed out! This one wasn't even his - it was an ornament for me!

Once home, Emily put out the food for the reindeer. She insisted that it needed to go on a plate!

Here's the loot!!

The kids stockings...

Matthew was the first one up and out of bed. He spotted Mickey in his stocking. (Both kids had really cute jammies from Gymboree but Em didn't want to wear them!)

She loved the nightgown so much that she wanted to wear it all day. And she's pretty much worn it every night since.

We went to my sister in laws that night, but I never got my camera out. There were enough people taking pictures though that I won't go without! LOL!

Thanks for looking! Now I need to go work on Cinderella.

Hiya All....I haven't been online much this month because my Christmas gift came early this year.....a beautiful baby boy!!! He was three weeks old yesterday!!!! He truly is the best Christmas gift we have ever been blessed with!!!!
CONGRATS!
Love them All! Thanks for Sharing!

We are doing 1900 Park Fare in May. I'm so excited!!! It looks like a lot of fun. The girls (5 of them) will be doing BBB that morning. I hope your little guy gets to feeling better! We've all been battling colds around here.
I can't wait to see the Cinderella custom!!!!

Everyone in my house is sick except me!! Matthew and Emily have a horrible cough. Em seems to be getting over it she's had it for just over a week now. It doesn't effect her though. she's still running around (driving me crazy...when does school start back up?!?!) Poor little man just lays on me. He has an ok day and then he's back to not wanting to do anything. My DH called yesterday to tell me that he's getting it too. Emily laughed and said "Ha Ha (evil little laugh) Daddy's got my cold too!" I am getting out of this house as soon as DH gets home!!

Is this the Lady Tremaine dinner? Now.... I really am leaving for walmart.

Yes, It is the Lady Tremaine and the steps dinner. From what I've heard they're a hoot! I'm looking forward to it.

Well, now I'm disappointed. Walmart didn't have the machine, much less at a clearance price. I did find it cheaper online though. I might just have to break down and order it that way.

Oh.... I did forget to mention. A couple of weeks ago, the gal in Walmart said they were getting tons of fabric in for the spring. Yippee!! I saw some really cute dog print fabric there today.

Heathersue- I used Casa satin. It is so much nicer than some of the other satin's and holds up much better. It is about $7 a yard, but of course I used a JoAnns 50% off coupon ;)

Here is Dallas' outfit for his birthday.

Here is his wrapping paper that it matches. I had to make his own party plate since there was nothing I liked with penguins, it also matches.

LOVE IT

Hi Ladies! I have been lurking on this thread for a LONG time, and I just now have something to share. I am totally inspired by you ladies!
My mother and I made this dress for my dd for Christmas (she's a seamstress, so when I get stressed out and mess something up she fixes it for me;) ). I think maybe I can accomplish the Cinderella one before we leave for disney:lmao: I am also collecting idea's from this thread for other customs for our trip! Anywho, here it is:
please excuse the dirt on the dress, she already wore it into the ground, and the gauntlets aren't quite finished yet either.

How beautiful. Looks just like Belle's gown

I have been pretty absent from this thread lately, except for the occasional catch-up on reading. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas and our anniversary trip to WDW last week, things have been a bit crazy.

All the new outfits are AWESOME. And, I think that all those with heart-born families are just the best!! We have 2 daughters, and so many people ask us if we're going to try for a boy. My thought is that, for now, my family is complete, but that if I ever wanted to add a boy to my family, I would go the adoption route. There are just too many children in this world without a family to love them.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of some of the customs that Nana made for the girls.

MickeyAK.jpg

At the Animal Kingdom Lodge where we stayed.

MickeyAKDaisy.jpg

Same dresses - but Daisy was quite impressed with the girls dresses, and even had them each do a spin, and she instructed them to hold their dresses out for this pic.

Sandmen.jpg

The girls finishing their bead strings at AKL. You can't tell in the picture very well, but that fabric is "sandmen" on the beach, instead of snowmen. Nana thought that it was quite appropriate, since we live in FL.

LOVE the AK dresses. I can't wait to go get sewing for my DD. We are not going to WDW until 2009 but I will do small things first. First time sewer over here.

I think dh and I will "go out" this weekend- I want to see a movie.popcorn:: Any suggestions?? I think the last movie I saw in the theater was spiderman 3!!!

Me and DH are going tomorrow afternoon to see National Treasure - Book of Secrets. I love Nicholas Cage and the first movie was good so I was excited another one came out.

I haven't posted here in a while but I was told several of you have Butterscotch (the horse) for your children. I'd like to know if they love it? Do they get tired of it?

thanks!

Oh, BTW... my little Gracie is doing great but she is starting to outgrow some of her customs.:sad2: so now I have to sell some and buy new ones:rolleyes1 . I have a couple in the works for a quick trip in March. We will be going to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party so, of course, that means an Aurora custom and something special planned for 1900 Park Fair.

I got a new machine!!!!!!!! :cool1: :dance3: :yay:    I went to Walmart last night to look at machines, write down some model numbers and come home to research them. Well, I was looking at the Brother CS6000 and it was on clearance for $98 (regular price $196). I found out it was the floor model that was the only one left at that price. So, I called dh and he said "go for it"! So, I did!!!!

I came home and did some research one it and read lots of great reviews! I'm so excited, it even came with a load of feet and attachments (no gathering foot, though  ) It has a zipper foot, blind hemming foot, 2 or 3 quilting feet, buttonhole foot, walking foot and I can't remember what else. I can't wait to get started with it, I just wanted to tell you guys!

Congrats on a great deal on a GREAT machine. You're gonna love it!

Gracie is getting soooo big!!! Wow!!! She is just beautiful and I love her tulle petticoat skirt. Did you have a nice trip to Disney? How was POR? :yay:

Sorry in advance...long post coming.
hello everyone!! I'm sorry to hear everyone is sick. We are all coming down with something as well. I have a sore throat, cough thing, and dd has a cough too. We'll live....:sad2:
Everyone's outfits have been adorable. I'm glad to see all of the lurkers coming out of hiding.
I have decided that we need another week at Disney, so next week we are leaving...jan 3-7th or whenever we decide to come home...we don't have to be home until the 14th...technically.;)
Anywho..we most likely won't be staying on property. I'm tempted to try the Nick hotel, because DD Ireland loves Spongebob. This has been the first year that I allowed her to watch it and she LOVES it!!! I also like the idea of putting the girls in their own room, and having some privacy...;)
I thought Lexie and I would be on our own for this trip, but Ireland will be with us as well, so she needed a gown too. So I have been sewing the past few days, trying to get it finished.
I'm done except putting on the trim around the waist and the closures in the back. I recycled :rotfl: the Belle broach from her old store bought dress and put it on the one I made. Please excuse the hair..she has been running around the house..

The bodice is a gorgeous gold brocade. I fell in love with it and had to have it. The skirt is made of two layers. One is a heavy maroon satin, that is lined in black. It's to die for...too bad you can't really see it. The top layer is a sheer maroon that had gold and maroon roping sewn into it. I had to have that as well. It all came to about 60 dollars. All of the material was 19.99 a yard, because it was decorator fabric, but I used coupons, and got some on sale. Ireland is really pleased with it and hopefully it won't be too warm for her. If it's hot that day, we will go to MK in the evening when they have extra magic hours at night.
Did I mention that it's really hard to yell at the kids when you've lost your voice?
