Hey Misty, are you up late working on the next installment of your Trip Report????? popcorn::

And, about how I found the Tink outfit. I looked in the Photobucket account for a picture. I couldn't exactly remember who's daughters they were, but I did remember that I had asked a quesion about the shoes her girls were wearing, and had been told they were Lelly kelly's. So, went to the thread and did a search for lelly kelly, then found the correct post, and found her that way. Much simpler than it sounds really!

Ok first I have to say- Heather you were not wrong about the puppy situation- That is SO RUDE!!

Trying out their other gifts-

These are all great pictures, but these last two pictures are too cute!!!

You know the second I put the baby doll play pen together she was climbing in it!! And put the babies out on the floor!!

Hiya All....I haven't been online much this month because my Christmas gift came early this year.....a beautiful baby boy!!! He was three weeks old yesterday!!!! He truly is the best Christmas gift we have ever been blessed with!!!!

Maybe I can get caught up on this thread during midnight feedings!! LOL

Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures of the newest one to join our sewing-family!

Did I tell you guys what Corey got for Christmas?????!!!!???? NO?? Can you guess??? He's a 15 year old boy, what does any 15 year old boy want???? You guessed it!!!!!!

TWO WHOLE BAGS OF BEEF JERKY!!!!!

He is SOOO sweet, he actually acted very excited when Brian gave it to him! When I asked him about it later, he said, "Well, it's kind of nice to have some beef jerky." So, not only did he ACT happy about it, he actually WAS happy to get two bags of beef jerky. And, I'm not talking stocking stuffer here folks, THAT was his present!

So nice of Corey to act happy about it and not hurt his dad's feelings. Of course if it easier if you are happy about getting two bags of beef jerky!

Trying out their other gifts-

We're glad you got back into sewing too! Your kids are adorable and look so happy in their gifts!

Love the puppy asleep in the corner! Your kids are so cute. Megan is ready for me to put everything away too. Christmas is over and it's time to move on, according to her.

Teresa=Super Sleuth

You know the second I put the baby doll play pen together she was climbing in it!! And put the babies out on the floor!!

But try to put her in a real play pen and I bet she wails, LOL! :lmao:

Hey Teresa, you gave me your scratchy throat! I feel like crap and I have to buy one Christmas present and clean the house for company coming tonight. I am wondering if I should try to go to one of those minute clinics and try to get some meds or not.

Quick Question

I would like to start doing this but, I need to figure out a few of the hows.

With the Embroidering on to T-shirts, do I need a special Sewing Machine or will my regular Singer do?

Thanks,

Carrie

It depends on if you are appliquéing or embroidering. Embroidering requires a special machine but you can appliqué around shapes with a zig zig stitch on your regular machine. HTH!

It feels like forever since I've had time to do more than read & keep up. That's what I get for trying to save some money & make almost all of my kids Christmas gifts. I'll try to get some pics up later today. My DSis-in-law got dd4 a sewing machine for Christmas. She didn't realize until after she had it that it said for ages 8 & up, but I think we'll keep it. DD has been begging for one for about 6 months now. The girls got bunk beds for tehir dolls & I think we'll make some sheets & things for the beds. Nice straight seams to learn on. She's excited & so am I.

Everyone's stuff has been great.

T - I'm really glad you got to have a good Christmas.

Heather - I tend to follow my kids around when they're at someone's house to make sure they don't make too big a mess playing. I can't imagine taking my dog to someone's house without asking, much less not even reacting at all when they peed on the floor. :confused3

Have I mentioned that I love that kid? I do, I love that kid!

Very nicely organized room!! I love the candy cane outfits. I recognize that fabric and the ginerbread fabric in another outfit from the skirts I made for Tessa, her BAB, and her cousin. I also love the 7am modeling. Thanks for sharing your family pic. What a bunch of good looking people!

I know who you are- you're the one with the adorable sons that remind me of my Sawyer and you made that super cute hoodie. I think I spotted a wedding picture on the wall in one of your pics! You are very cute, so I don't think the stress of kids has done too much damage! I love the pic of your DS inspecting the cookies. Adorable! I liked seeing a picture of your Tessa, too!

Does anyone know where I can get small scraps of Disney fabric? I mean I dont even need like fat quarter size or anything. To commemorate my big bday (ugh) I'd like to make a sweatshirt to wear to work with 40 mickey heads on it - each with a different fabric if I can find it - I'd love to wear it to work to show the kids - they'd have a ball with it (i work at a childrens hospital) - i'd say I have about 10 different scraps here already (i can make the mickey's all different sizes)...do you think any stores sell scraps like that????? thanks for your help!!!
I can't help too much on finding little scraps, but I can tell you that I think you're REALLY ambitious!! Plus, it's a very neat idea!

I love the Peter Pan costume! Is that from the Disney Store? I thought those Scottie jammies were adorable before, but they're even cuter modeled on a beautiful little girl! How sweet about your homemade blanket! Isn't it nice when something you've made is appreciated?

WOO-HOO!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
What did you name him? Any pictures?

Sorry about that, now, I'm thinking it was Karen, I can't think of her username though. She has an adorable little blonde daughter. As I recall, her daughter ate an entire Mickey bar without getting any on her.
ETA: OOOOH!!! I found out who has one! MommaPooh217 Wooh, I'm glad i don't have to worry about that all night! Here's a link to her post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=21025036&postcount=14887
You are truly a sick individual. Maybe it's the cookie.

My DH told me just yesterday he was glad I got back into sewing- I didn't argue ;) Thanks guys- I blame YOU!!:cheer2:   :rotfl:
How sweet of your Grammie to make you a quilt! I find I appreciate all the work that goes into a quilt a lot more now that I sew! I love that your DD loves shoes. I have a funny story about Tessa around that age and shoes that I will have to share one day. I'm sure one of the things you're going to be busy with this coming month is updating your TR...:rolleyes1

I've said it before and I'll say it again- Misty, you have a whole bunch of adorable kids!!

Embroidery will take a special machine, but if you want to applique, your plain old Singer should work. I have an old Singer and I just use the zig zag stitches (or the buttonhole stitch) really close together to do applique.

here is our xmas eve picture the kiddos and Daizie dog asleep on the chair:rotfl: and my sponge bob tree (which i took down and all my xmas stuff today) i was feeling a lil claustrophobic (sorry about the spelling)
So cute! I am thinking about taking our tree down too. How's that trip report coming?:surfweb: Wow 4 weeks! My DD only gets a week and a half off. Back to school for her on January 2 Her Birthday!

HeatherSue I too think it was very rude to bring your dog to someone else's house and then to sit there and watch it go to potty in the house:mad: You are totally not being a jerk, DH's aunt has a pom too and she brings him everywhere, not in my house though, has never asked. I think it's because of the kids.

daisylou Hello there, I'm fairly new too. Welcome. I will be getting a machine soon. Got some cash for Christmas so off to Joann's to buy a machine. It's my first sewing machine so I'm quite excited and then afte seeing this thread  I can't wait to start.

MouseTriper Congratulations on the new addition. I have two DS 8 and 6 and a DD2. Please post some pictures when you get the chance and what's his name? And all the good labor stuff too.

teresajoy DH would have loved beef jerky too. He "chews it" when he fishes at night.

disneymommieof2 DD2 tried to go into her bunk bed for her "babies" so I know just what you mean.

This thread is awesome! I don't have much time left before we leave. We leave on January 30th. I have a couple customs, but I would like more. If anyone has any Disney customs they would like to resell, I'm looking for sizes 3/3T or 4/4T for pants skirts, and a 4/4T or 5/5T for tops. Please feel free to pm me with what you have.

:)

That Corey really does sound like a sweet kid. You are lucky.

Hey Teresa, you gave me your scratchy throat! I feel like crap and I have to buy one Christmas present and clean the house for company coming tonight. I am wondering if I should try to go to one of those minute clinics and try to get some meds or not.

I would say go to the clinic. I had been sick for about a week and a half with a chest cold and head cold and was starting to feel better. Then last Sunday at church I became so sick I could hardly walk. With company coming for Christmas I new I should get checked out so if I needed antibiotics I could get at least 24 hours worth in my system by Christmas day. I thought I had strep (I've had it several times before) but I did not. I had fever, sore throat, sinus infection, ear infection, and "wheezy lungs". Anyhow, I got much worse very quickly. On Monday morning my sister came and got my kids. I was helping her get them in the car and I passed out. Good thing she was there to catch me! I have never passed out before in my life! But by Christmas morning I was sooooo much better! My antibiotics and decongestant have worked wonders. I'm almost back to normal today!

And to stay on topic on this thread, I did make a custom top for Leigh to wear on Christmas Eve.

Lovely Christmas custom. I love that particular Santa print.

Happy day-after-Christmas everyone! Megan woke me up this morning dressed and with her backpack all ready for school. She said, Christmas is over, time to go back to school! It is going to be a long two weeks.
Here are my Christmas pictures.
Jacob got a picture of him and Scrappy from Scrappy:

And the big one!

She loved it! She did not like the name Nellie, and wants to call her Angel instead. She loved the clothes (yay me!):
I love the idea of a present from the dog. Your Jacob has such a sweet smile too. And the American Girl doll picture is great. Megan really does look like Nellie, I mean Angel!!
Here's some Christmas pics:

Your kids are beautiful. I love the little Santa suit. Wish I had thought of that for my Sammy.
Okay, as I mentioned before, somewhere in the night Christmas Eve I must've been feeling guilty because I did not get to make as many doll clothes for DD as I'd wanted to (the poor thing had no skirt to wear with her peasant top!) I had an idea pop into my head. DD got the American Girl Julie for Christmas. She is the newest "Historical" doll--from the 70's :scared1: Yes, makes me feel old. Who knew the 70's were historical? So I was thinking a denim skirt would be cool. Now DD10 tears the knees out of nearly every pair of jeans she owns, so I thought, why not chop off the bottom of a pants leg and stitch in a casing, throw in an elastic, and voila! I had to wait 'till morning to make sure it would work (make sure the pant leg was big enough around). Sure enough, the easiest skirt ever! No seams, no hem, just a casing and a piece of elastic. I'll have to try this with other pants! I used boot-cut jeans. I don't know if straight leg would work.
And less than 10 minutes later the finished product:
th_
IMG_0057.jpg
Great job on the denim skirt. I wouldn't mind one like that for myself. And I love the Julie doll. I wish the American Girl dolls were around when I was a little girl. I would have loved them. If my step-daughters were interested I would have bought them the whole line. Luckily for my bank account they were never into dolls very much.
Well, today turned out to be quite productive for me despite my sniffles  I got the playroom organized with shelves and rearranged furniture in DD's room. We are getting a new bunk bed tomorrow :cool1: So first here is the organization part:
th_

Great job organizing. That's a beautiful room. Your girls are adorable in their Christmas customs.

Cute! I was looking at the pictures thinking you looked familiar but I couldn't place the boys and then I saw your signature: they are babies in the pic! They looks so grown up in the Christmas pictures! I hope you get lots of creating done in your break and show us. My mom has an embroidery machine and she loves it. She made my daughter a t-shirt and jeans with butterflies on it and she was so upset that the butterflies were upside down on the jeans. I told her that all the in people put them on that way so you can see them while you are wearing them!
I think I have a good excuse for a new Disney trip now. We need to get some updated pictures with Santa since the boys have grown so much. Thanks for the excuse, now I need to see if DH will buy it!

DS wore his Peter Pan costume on Christmas eve.

I love the Peter Pan costume. My 3yo has one too that he wears all the time. And we got Elefun too for Christmas. So far it has been a big hit.

Hey! My DD and I leave on the 30th too! We are staying at POP for 6 nights. She wears the same size clothes!!!

Did I tell you all I got a serger for Christmas? I can't remember. Anyway, after reading the instructions I am askeered to take it out of the box!
LOL - I hear you - I took mine out of the box - but got confused reading the book about it and haven't been back. I am thinking of trying today :scared: .

For everyone who got a serger:

Don't be intimidated! Once you get the hang of threadin gthem they are wonderful! I used to teach an intro to sergers class, so I might be able to helpw tih some of your questions. I really only know how to thread White and Viking machines, though.
Ya - I need to just do it. I think I will look for a class though - I like to ask questions - and the book doesn't answer in a language I understand - ROFL!

I love seeing family pictures!! It's so fun to see what everyone's DH looks like. You are such a cute family!
Thanks Heather! It may not be my favorite photo of me - but it is us early Christmas morning!

That Corey really does sound like a sweet kid. You are lucky.
He IS a sweet kid. I credit my sister for that. She is the best mom in the world, aside from our own mother. Most people say that they want to do things differently than their parents. But, Teresa and I say we want to do almost everything that our mom did! I think Teresa is doing just that!!

I told her that all the in people put them on that way so you can see them while you are wearing them!

Oh yeah, all the cool kids are doin' it! :cool2:

Your kids are beautiful. I love the little Santa suit. Wish I had thought of that for my Sammy.

I love the Peter Pan costume. My 3yo has one too that he wears all the time. And we got Elefun too for Christmas. So far it has been a big hit.

Thank you! I had both of them wear their Santa/Mrs.Claus outfits to bed so they'd be all dressed up on Christmas morning. He seemed to think he was hot stuff in that outfit!

Elefun is great! The daycare kids (my mom used to have a day care that Teresa and I worked at) used to LOVE that game! Where did you get your Peter Pan costume?

Great family pictures! DId you get a Cricut too? I love mine!
I got the cricut last year - the box was used to throw the kids off the trail. I love my cricut too and need to scrap a little - my sewing has been hogging all my free time. Do you go to the cricut website message boards? I love the new design studio - that may have to be my next splurge.

Here are some photos from our Christmas. . . I was exhausted yesterday because we started out at my Sister's house on Christmas eve and then stayed up til 1:00 am then, we were back up at 7:30 when DD came in our room and told us that Santa came.

Then off to BIL's to have Christmas with DH's family.
THe kids visiting with Santa

Hiya All....I haven't been online much this month because my Christmas gift came early this year.....a beautiful baby boy!!! He was three weeks old yesterday!!!! He truly is the best Christmas gift we have ever been blessed with!!!!
