Okay, here is my cheapo Wal-Mart Cinderella dress CAB. Cinderella's face is a little smaller than I would've liked for the cool effect, but I totally cheated and used a pillowcase. I had to hand stitch around it because my current sewing machine has no zig zag stitch. I used $2 fabric and a pillowcase from Walmart. On the "bo-peep" bloomers I used a bunch of scraps of eyelet my mom had saved up over the years. No model because they are Christmas presents.

lelladressphotobucket.jpg

You can sorta see polka dots through Cinderella's face. I just pretend she is in a snow storm and the snow is falling on her.

DSCN3005.jpg

Here is the peasant top and bloomers I made Bitty Baby yesterday. I figure they will be generic enough to go under whatever else I make her.

i like those and what a cute picture ...

Thanks everyone for your comments about the customs and DD's head. She's fine now and hey, she'll have a permanent Disney souvenir, right?

Day 6 - Friday
We had a big day with three customs! Yes, I made far too many!
Breakfast at Crystal Palace, then a Princess outfit for the day at MK, then Chip and Dale for dinner at Trail's End and then the Campfire.
Breakfast - I met Clutterbug briefly - she came over to our table after recognizing DS's shirt. I think I forgot to tell her who I was, though. Clutterbug, if you see this, thanks for coming over and sorry I was such a ditz and didn't properly introduce myself!

We also had a little Magical Moment. We were sitting by the fountain outside of the Castle and a Dream Squad member approached the kids and asked if they'd like to have some pixie dust and make a wish in the fountain. So they got to do that and then got Magical Moment certificates, signed by Snow White and all 7 dwarves! It was pretty cute!
th_14.jpg

DD meeting Cinderella - all the princesses made a fuss over DD and her outfit, which she just loved! (and so did I, LOL)
th_15.jpg

DD at the campfire - she would not meet Chip or Dale, but LOVED the smores!
She also finally let me take off her bandaid, so you can see her battle wound - I mean souvenir - in this pic.
th_16.jpg

Day 7 - Saturday
We spent most of the day at Animal Kingdom, then went to MK for the evening (to meet the princesses again), so two customs for this day. I also met a disboutiquer this day - Karen in TX? is that right? Anyway, she spotted DD's dress. Her DD was already getting on a ride, so I didn't get to see her, but Karen had a super cute Mickey Head top on!

th_18.jpg

Meeting Belle - Belle was so cute with Ella - she commented on DD's outfit, then kept talking to her, told her they must be sisters because they both have brown hair and brown eyes, then said she wished Ella could stay and be a princess with her. It just about melted my heart!
th_19.jpg

Day 8 - Sunday - our last day
We went to MK, then to downtown Disney. I didn't have a custom for DS on this day, so he just coordinated.

We flew home yesterday and are trying to adjust back to real life. It's no fun. I want to be on vacation forever!

I think that's it. It went by way too fast! We had an absolute blast and if I could go back tomorrow, I would. DH and I kept joking about looking for jobs and moving down there.

Hope everyone had a good week and I'm going to try to maybe catch up on the posts I missed, but I have a feeling it will take me a long time!
wow i am in awestruck at how adorable your kiddos are and the outfits are amazing (****oo and all)

Okay, this is not much, but it represents the fact that I have spent soooooo much time making pajama pants lately but I'm finally done!!!!   This Hello Kitty pair is for DDs friend who loves Hello Kitty. It reminds me of my childhood. This is the HK flannel I got a good deal on on :wizard: and the post office lost it for a while, then decided they had it after all. :confused3 I just bought a cheap T-shirt and removed the pocket, sewed on the kitty, ribbon and ric rac and sewed the pocket back on. It was surprisingly easy to get that pocket off and back on again. I was askeered. I'll post my Cinderella CAB outfit photos tomorrow. Today I made DD10 a Christmas peasant top, I made Bitty Baby a peasant top and some "bo-peep" bloomers (photos tomorrow), finished the HK pjs and made 2 reversible Christmas headbands. That is a lot for me so I'm proud of myself.

th_DSCN3001.jpg
okay i need a size 10 for Jayedyn pronto ;) :rotfl: (she loves hello kitty but then again she loves everything)
great job:thumbsup2 and sew cute :cutie: i have not sewed at all but i need to get going on my nieces outfits.... did you use a pattern for the reversible headbands? i want to make some of those.
I know I posted this last night or at least tried to, I guess I hit the wrong button or something :confused3
anyway, here is a picture of my girls with Santa at our sons boyscout Christmas party. This is the 3rd time meeting this Santa and the first time dd2 didn't scream and run away. No lap sitting but hey no screaming either.

th_cookingandchristmasparty035.jpg
wow no running and screaming that is always a good thing.

I must be a big fan of cheapo Walmart CABs because I LOVE this outfit!! You did such a terrific job. I also love the doll-sized one and the cute little peasant top and bloomers!

Here are my snow pictures from this morning. A lot of it has melted already. Notice my extreme lack of Chrismas decor. You can't see it very well, but there is a little wooden Christmas tree on my front porch. ;)

Here are some fun in the snow pics- they are from our first BIG snow this year. We got I think about 8 or 9 inches that time. Then three days later we got another 6 inches or so. All the snowmobilers are very happy. My DH got ours going and drove the kids around the yard a couple times. Poor dd could hardly walk in her snowsuit- But it was HILARIOUS to watch her try:lmao: She could take about 5 steps before going down- That's how she got so covered in snow.

Arminda cried a long time when she found out we weren't going to go see her at my Mom's today (because of the roads). It was all I could do to keep myself from crying, I was so disapointed not to see her today! :(
Aw, my poor little Sue (that's Arminda's middle name, she's named after me )! I was really dissapointed that you couldn't come over, but I'm glad you didn't try to go out on the roads.

Don't worry, Teresa and I have been having long e-mail conversations about you: we anxiously await your return!
Okay, all long e-mail conversations involving me must be forwarded to me immediately!!

Hi everyone. I have been a lurker for only a couple of days but I want to tell everyone that your sewing skills are beautiful. My mom is getting me a sewing machine for christmas. A couple of you have mentioned the Brother Disney one, which model do you all have? And does it sew and embroider too? Thanks in advance for your help. I plan to take some sewing lessons after the new year and then I too can post some things when I complete them. I love all the outfits. DD2 will probably get most of them. DS8 and DS6 maybe some PJs. :)

This is my first post in this thread and everything is so cute. I am an artsy person with one little problem...I would love to make cute stuff like this BUT we don't have kids and there are no little ones in the family.

I think it is time to consider making friends with people who have small children.:rotfl2:

:welcome: to both of you!!!

I forgot to mention that when I gave my niece her gingerbread outfit, she said "Aunt Heather, I didn't know you were an artist!!" She was absolutely thrilled with it and I was absolutely thrilled with her reaction!

Did you post pictures of the minnie dot outfits? If so, I'm going to have to do some searching for them! Sawyer is sick again today. He keeps throwing up. Teresa can attest that he's pretty good at projectile vomiting (he did it at my mom's last night about 4 times before we could get him out of there).
I did post pics of them they are on page 1439 I just spent ten minutes looking for ya. Now I have to go pick up the spilt dish of pins the twins just dropped. Yikes welcome home missed ya.Sorry little one is still sick i hope he gets better soon.

I love the walley mart outfits. I am sure she will love it. And thank you for making her baby an outfit as well.

ok, finished another set, now looking at it, I should have done the mickey on a red shirt. But I think he will have to wear a little jacket most days so do not think it matters. and since we are leaving in 8 days and I have one more of these shirts to do. ahhh.
oh question, do you think this would show up well on a brown tshirt to match the shorts more?

I think thsi is all I will get done today. hubby has his work xmas party I must go to. It should be interesting his boss got fired yesterday!

Well I am finally caught up on this thread after our vacation but definitely NOT the laundry.

Here is our mini trip report and pictures of the kiddos in their customs. I saw about about 2 to 3 customs a day, more in the Magic Kingdom. Some of them I recognized off ebay but I think I only saw Glorib from here.

Day 1 at Epcot - Luckily Midwest Airlines let us fly out the night before we were scheduled to so we could miss the ice storm that hit here.
WDW07028.jpg

Day 2 at Magic Kingdom - We had breakfast at the Castle at 8:15 am. It was so neat to see Main Street and the Castle without crowds of people around it. The girls got lots of comments about their dresses from the CMs. Dinner at LTT - great character interaction here, Goofy and Dale came around twice and were great with the kids.
WDW07051.jpg

Day 3 at MGM - We watched the HSM show and they all got picked to go up and play the instruments. One CM in the show told my DD how much she loved her shirt.
WDW07138.jpg

Day 4 - Animal Kingdom day. Not a great pic of the customs but they're just the animal print MM head shirts.
WDW07157.jpg

Day 5 - Magic Kingdom. This day was actually the first crowded day we had. My older DD choose to wear the Bling MM. DD6 was called Minnie by many CMs. My DH wore the same shirt as DS and he was so embarassed when some random guy came up and asked him where he got a Buzz shirt in Adult size b/c he wanted one. The CMs at Buzz loved the shirts and played around with the my DH and son.
WDW07171.jpg

Day 6 - We finally won a dream on Soarin', Mickey Ears!!! We were so happy to win something. We also had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, the characters there are so good, they spend a ton of time and actually talk/play with the kids.
WDW07232.jpg

WDW07233.jpg

Day 7 - Our last day - It was freezing this day so my Santa Mickey head shirts were not seen very much but lots of comments on the girls skirts.
WDW07264.jpg

We all had a great time. The weather and crowds were perfect the first 4 days of the trip and then it started getting busier but still managable. My son asked me this morning if he could go on a ride today. Guess I'll have to start planning our next trip.

Thanks! It is a pillowcase from Wal-Mart, I believe it was $4. On one side is this larger Cinderella, on the other side is (I believe) Belle, Cinderella and Aurora, so definitely worth the $4. They also had an Ariel one but did not see Snow White.

I must be a big fan of cheapo Walmart CABs because I LOVE this outfit!! You did such a terrific job. I also love the doll-sized one and the cute little peasant top and bloomers!

Thanks! I love your house and your massive garages! I can't let DH see! The last time we moved it was because he had to have more garage space. I'm jealous of how close you are to your mom!

I love it! is the face a seperate white fabric you stitched around or is it just black stitching with the t-shirt color showing through? Does that make sense?

rice pack help

anyone ever made a hot pack made of rice? what kind of rice do you put in it? won't warming it in the microwace cause it to cook and get mushy?
tia
Lori

I have had mine I made for years. It is wonderful.

I also made one with flax seed and dried lavender and chamomile added. It smells good and the flax seed conforms well to achy shoulders or colicky tummys. You just have to microwave it in 30 second increments ...remove and shake to distribute the heat and repeat several times till you get it hot enough.

You can also use old beans or other legumes. I have used those for big body parts like lower backs or knees. They stay hot for a while.

You CAN just use an old tube sock and dump in whatever (rice, flax seeds, beans) and sew the top or even knot it in a pinch.

Now I want to make some too!

th_IMG_2779.jpg

th_IMG_2780.jpg
These photos are beautiful! I love the nighttime snowy light thing! OHHHH AHHHH
DD's school hosted an Evening with Santa, games, cookies and hot chocolate. We got there at 6:00 (Santa was set to arrive at 6:30) and decided to start with the cake walk. DD didn't win and DS wanted to crawl around and check out all of the goodies. I wouldn't let him and he was not happy!! Next we went to the games - they had 4 different games set up in the gym. DS even got to play.

Waiting in line.

th_IMG_2759.jpg

As DD was picking out her prize for the last game, her principal announced that Santa was here!! We quickly got in line! Now when we went to see Santa at the mall, DS wanted nothing to do with him and cried while he sat on his lap. Because of this I didn't dress him in a cute Christmas outfit. So of course, he wanted to sit with him!!

th_IMG_2765.jpg

You can tell DD is thinking of what she wants for Christmas. DS is showing Santa the licorice that he won.
The School party looks like a lot of fun! I love the picture of your daughter thinking.

Fun in the snow! Great pictures!

ok, finished another set, now looking at it, I should have done the mickey on a red shirt. But I think he will have to wear a little jacket most days so do not think it matters. and since we are leaving in 8 days and I have one more of these shirts to do. ahhh.
oh question, do you think this would show up well on a brown tshirt to match the shorts more?

Love those pajamas!

Day 3 at MGM - We watched the HSM show and they all got picked to go up and play the instruments. One CM in the show told my DD how much she loved her shirt.

Day 4 - Animal Kingdom day. Not a great pic of the customs but they're just the animal print MM head shirts.

Day 6 - We finally won a dream on Soarin', Mickey Ears!!! We were so happy to win something. We also had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, the characters there are so good, they spend a ton of time and actually talk/play with the kids.

Day 7 - Our last day - It was freezing this day so my Santa Mickey head shirts were not seen very much but lots of comments on the girls skirts.

We all had a great time. The weather and crowds were perfect the first 4 days of the trip and then it started getting busier but still managable. My son asked me this morning if he could go on a ride today. Guess I'll have to start planning our next trip.

All the Trip Photos make me want to go so badly! I don't know when we can get away out of town though.

Thanks! It is a pillowcase from Wal-Mart, I believe it was $4. On one side is this larger Cinderella, on the other side is (I believe) Belle, Cinderella and Aurora, so definitely worth the $4. They also had an Ariel one but did not see Snow White.

I love it! is the face a seperate white fabric you stitched around or is it just black stitching with the t-shirt color showing through? Does that make sense?

the face is totally seperate white fabric. up close you can tell.

oh, so it was in the sheets section. I may have to check it out!

Wow, is there something wrong with my computer? How many hours since the last post? Almost 4? I feel so lonely!
