i think that is the sewing machine wendy has i know she got hers at costco too and she LLLLLovesssss it i was tempted to get the same one but i have the brother c60001
i would say buy one that you like , i would not bother with repairs, IMO
we have to buy a new furnace so i hear you on not being able to afford things ..
those are too cute i have started my collection of lil things to put in mine so i can finish them , where did you use for the inside ? the crystal looking stuff(i can't think this morning) and where did you get it?

Yay, happy news! DH said finally said he would buy me a new sewing machine for Christmas!     He said as long as that was all I got for Christmas :rotfl2: Well duh! Usually he buys me nothing! (don't worry, I compensate for that). On the I spy bags I used the plastic "poly-pellets". I originally bought some at Wal-Mart in the crafts section years ago. I used those and then bought some more that I found at Hancocks, but the stuff at Hancocks was pretty expensive. I need to check back at Walmart so I can make some for Dniece and Dnephew. They don't have them at my lame uncraftsy Walmart, so I'll have to drive 5 miles to check a "good" Walmart.

well , i have been very un productive on saturday. i got hooked on a book i have been meaning to read for awhile but couldn't remember what it was called :confused3
went to a party with wendy on thurs night and her neighbor pulled it out and i did the happy dance inside...:cool1: she gave the 1st one to wendy and i bought mine at wal-mart ,anyways i started to read it on sat and finished it at 1 a.m. sunday morning. i just could not put it down ;) now on to the next one (hopefully today) but while i am waiting i will be sewing Jayedyn a winter dress and yes she had to choose a difficult one and had to have the fabric just perfect:eek: so i cut up a pattern and we will see what it looks like when i am done ...:scared1: everyone have a great monday:goodvibes
I've been engrossed in the BEST book! Sorry if I was MIA. I think my imaginary friends would love this gem:
"Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. It hooks you on the first page! It's equal parts romance and suspense with a 17 year old young lady who's in love with a vampire who was born in 1912 and is forever 17. It written uncommonly well. I don't think I put it down for longer than it takes to eat or pee all day yesterday, saving the last chapter for today. I seriously can't wait to sink my teeth into the next in the series! I like it much better than anything written by Anne Rice. Now I need to catch up with this thread!

You two are EVIL. Now I just ran over to Amazon.com and bought these books! (love that amazon prime free shipping!) I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO READ! It is bad enough that a few months ago Wendy mentioned Janet Evanovich in her TR and I had to run to the library and read ALL 13 books! It is pretty much your fault that my house is always messy ::yes::

Ok I only made the Shirt to match! But I thought I would bring on those valentines customs already!

 Valentines?! I need to get my trip outfits done before that! But I must confess, I did just wash my Valentines fabric yesterday. :laundy: I love this outfit. It almost makes me want to decoupage jeans!

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I've been under the weather (take a look at my new add on to my signature and you'll see why!) and way behind now. Looks like everything that everyone has done has been beautiful as usual. This board moves so fast! Hope everyone is having a fantastic Christmas season. I think I ought to be on more now, all of my company has left and I ought to have a little more time now to myself. Talk to everyone soon!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Very cute!

Here's what I have come up with so far! I told you that I was going to have to CASE that ruffle idea!

My princess is sick:sick: Not looking too pretty today! She loves it though and she said "Daddy, that is sooooo pretty!" Made me smile.:goodvibes
Sorry princess is sick today! Love the outfit, but hate it when someone CADMBs! (copy and do it much better) Well, I'm learning. Someday maybe I can sew as well as Tom, but probably not :rotfl: :sad1: :rotfl: :sad1:

Wow, I triple posted! I'm not actually trying to shamelessly up my posts (this time) I'm just having internet problems again. It takes about 5 minutes from when I hit post to when it actually posts right now and I think I'm getting impatient or I think it has frozen up, but apparently it is posting!

OK ladies and gent . . .

So sorry to have been MIA lately - between working 2 extra shifts last week for some spending and Christmas moolah, and sewing like a MAD woman, I haven't had time to keep up here. We leave Saturday and I'm nowhere near ready. ACK!

So, here's what I need opinions on. . . is the star and Tink too much? I thought it looked a little plain without, but can't decide if I like it or not. Or any other ideas? Let me know what you all think!!

OMGosh Lori that is gorgeous ! LOVE LOVE LOVE It !

QUESTION Has anyone worked with the fake fur -- I bought some b/c DD wants me to make her a winter cape for her aurora costume(bought not made). I have the pink velvet for the cape but wanted to put the fur trim on the hood and on the edges. It has a thick back to it -- not sure as to how to do this -- or if my machine will even get through it. It was quite expensive $24.99 a yard -- so I hate to mess it up. TIA!

I have. I took a class years ago on how to make teddy bears. When you cut out your pattern, you may want to draw it on the back, you don't cut through the pile. You cut through the back, trying to avoid the long pile. Then when you stitch, you push the fur inwards. So you won't have alot in the stitching line. When your done that, you take a pin, and along the seam line, you pick out the fur. So you can't see the seam.

I hope this isn't confusing. Fur isn't that bad to work with.

I love this so much! And I love the tink/star in the middle. You really need to let me know how you made this. Did you use any patterns? Can you send detailed instructions? I would love to CASE this!!!! I don't have the cute Tink fabric, but I really need this outfit :rotfl:

Here's the snowflake outfit I sewed Tabitha. The skirt is simply a strip work, twirl skirt with fur trim. The shirt is a t-shirt and I added the fur trim to the sleeves. The snowflakes were on a sheer fabric so I just cut them out and appliqued them to the shirt. She wore this to a Christmas dinner show and will wear it on Christmas Eve. She'll probably get a few more wearings out of it at various Christmas related activities this month.

OK, I want you all to please be honest. I think maybe I have been looking at this too long. Does it look like a Mickey head with a Santa hat on? I want to make sure before I make three more!

I promise my feelings will only be a little hurt if I need to start over. :headache:
I think it looks great. I love the green t shirt. Keep going!
Not mine, but we'll be there tomorrow!! Were you at Epcot yesterday? I could have sworn I saw you! We were, and here are a few pics....

When we went to get in line at Nemo, the CM stopped us and made such a fuss over dd2's outfit that she let us in the VIP entrance!!! That was pretty cool, until we got in there and dd2 was terrified!!!! We all had our first Mickey Bars!

These are from Chef Mickey's breakfast yesterday. Yes, I changed dd2's clothes before we went to Epcot! Tomorrow is Little Einsteins for morning at MGM and Little Mermaid for afternoon!
cm1resized.jpg

dd2 ran across the restaurant to see Minnie before we were even seated! Minnie came to her several times throughout breakfast, she really loved her outfit! Dd2 has a new favorite character! She cried today at MK when Minnie wasn't in the Family Fun Day parade!

Looks like you are all having a great time! Adorable pictures!

Looks cute and comfortable too!
Another shameless post. This is DD8 and DD4 (soon to be 5) visiting Santa today.Their shirts say " Dear Santa I Can Explain XOXO" and I found their pants at Target for $6.00. They got alot of attention for their outfits today (even from Santa) everyone thought I bought it as a set. Imagine the horror on DH's face when DD4 asked Santa for Butterscotch (the pony):rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I love the star and Tink. THat is an adorable little dress. I like the black rolled edges. It makes me want to buy a serger. What does the back look like? I like the little black stars hanging down. Are they part of a sash? It is adorable!

duh, sorry i forgot,
It is called "Twilight" By a Lds author Stephanie Meyer
It is about Vampires :rolleyes1 ;) :goodvibes   it has been out for awhile since 2005 It is sooooo good..

One would assume...with ya'll being in Utah and all that by LDS you meant latter day saints, but that doesn't seem to go w/ vampires, so I am confused:confused3

Yep, it's just a great work of fiction is all. The book isn't that "dark". If it were a movie it'd be PG. No bad words, no sex (except for ONE kiss that will curl your toenails....;) ) some violence.

These are NICE vampires :rolleyes1

Very cute! It makes me wish I didn't hate working with fur so much.

I don't even want to think about anything past Christmas. I have so many projects for make as gifts & I keep thinking of things I want to make the girls...there just aren't that many hours in my day.

WOW...great customs everyone!!! I especially love the new Valentine's outfits that were posted!!! I have to agree with some though....how in the world have you already gotten to Valentine's Day??? I haven't finished my Christmas ones either!!!

:scared1:

Everyone is doing some amazing stuff lately!

Hi Everyone,

Wow, we are moving on to Valentines already???? Im still on Christmas - how do you all sew so fast!! I was happy to be able to whip up a few pairs of veggie tales pants for DN's and DN yesterday for our movie night at church!! They looked cute, but I didnt have my camera.

I was wondering, DN (3) is into matching what everyone else is wearing. I used some of the red Christmas tree and coordinating red/green joy, noel block fabric from walmart and made dresses for his sisters and he wants to match. what could i make for him? the block fabric is just too girly - could i make something out of the red Christmas tree fabric? anyone have a simple little boys vest pattern or anything??????? poor little guy, i just cant say no to him!!! those big chocolately brown eyes make me MELT!!!!!

thanks,wendy

Doh! I screwed up the multi quote! Everyone's creations look great! I love the Valentine's stuff, but I haven't even done Christmas stuff yet!!

I'm really looking forward to lying around and seeing everything everyone makes in the next few days!! I'll just be sad because I am not sewing myself. :(
