When we went to get in line at Nemo, the CM stopped us and made such a fuss over dd2's outfit that she let us in the VIP entrance!!! That was pretty cool, until we got in there and dd2 was terrified!!!! We all had our first Mickey Bars!

These are from Chef Mickey's breakfast yesterday. Yes, I changed dd2's clothes before we went to Epcot! Tomorrow is Little Einsteins for morning at MGM and Little Mermaid for afternoon!
cm1resized.jpg

dd2 ran across the restaurant to see Minnie before we were even seated! Minnie came to her several times throughout breakfast, she really loved her outfit! Dd2 has a new favorite character! She cried today at MK when Minnie wasn't in the Family Fun Day parade!

You thought you saw us? Where? :)

WHAT is going on with this weather?????? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 Yesterday, we were having a horrible snow/ice storm! We went up to Holt for a religious assembly, and by the time we got back to my parent's house, I really didn't know if I was going to make it back home! I was freezing trying to hook up the carseats in my van. It was about 20 degrees and windy. My fingertips were frozen!!! This morning, everything was STILL a glare of ice! Now, at 1:30 in the afternoon, the temperature is up to FIFTY DEGREES! And, it is raining! This is nuts!
Well, at least it's consistantly nuts.....this morning we were sitting on our back porch lounging in t-shirts, jammie bottoms and no socks. Since then it's fallen about 20 degrees with 10 more to go.

You think YOU are slow????? Until you posted JUST NOW I was trying to figure out the same thing!!!!!!!!! Thank you for clearing that up for me!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When the shirring was giving me fits before, I had to adjust the bobbin tension. If you have the kind of bobbin case that comes out, you hold it by the thread and give it a little shake. It should go down about an inch and stop. If it's too tight, it won't move much, then you turn the little screw to the right, just a tiny bit. If it goes too far, turn the screw to the left. Keep testing until you get it right.

Well, I think this is officially over my head, but what the hey. It can't make it any worse can it? And maybe, just maybe I can stop hitting my head against the wall. :) Thanks!:flower3:

We thank you for tuning in to the Teresajoy and Maggi show. We now resume our regular programming.

OK, I want you all to please be honest. I think maybe I have been looking at this too long. Does it look like a Mickey head with a Santa hat on? I want to make sure before I make three more!

It looks just about perfect. I've been looking at it, wondering what you THINK it looks like, other than a Mickey with a Santa hat.

:lmao: You know how it is when you are trying so hard to make something look perfect, and your mind starts to distort it....... But your reply is hilarious!!

Ugh. I bought a ruffler foot this past summer. I just pulled it out to use it and have figured out it's the wrong one!! It has the screw on foot (I think that's what it's called) and I need the snap on foot! I even told the lady exactly what machine I had. Of course, the place I bought it is all the way accross town and I'm sure I don't have my receipt anymore. I'm soooo bummed. I was ready to learn how to use it and now I have to buy a new one!!!
MAYBE, just MAYBE, IF you look up your machine's "needle arm" a bit above the snap-on foot part, you MIGHT see that the snap-on foot part is actually a screw-on attachment ... (actually, it's called a SHANK", but I call it needle arm, makes more sense to me)
IF this is the case, this is where you'd unscrew it & replace it with the ruffler foot. Of course, make sure not to loose that snap-on foot attachment (like I did once) ...
Most machines that have snap-on feet have this attachment, and it screws off & on like normal feet attachments do ...
The really important part is, BEFORE you try to sew with it, and after you have the ruffler foot on the needle arm = make sure that the needle passed through the ruffler foot, by slowly turning the hand wheel (on the right), and watch where the needle goes :) This will help you figure out if it's a low-shank or not ...
There's usually two types of feet attachments = LOW Shank or HIGH Shank ... One taller from bottom to screw-on attachment than the other ... the most popular one is the low shank, nowadays ...

Hope that helps.

(*Yeah! Just like teresajoy wrote ... sorry, found that after I replied already ... :))

Thanks You!!! And thanks to Teresajoy also!!!! I'm going to go check it out. The reason I didn't even check anything like that is b/c in the instructions I looked at on youcanmakethis it looked like there were 2 different kinds, one that snapped on and one that didn't. Going to check out my machine now.......

Deann, I was on the monorail with three of your girls and your mom. I thought I recognized the outfits, it was your oldest, youngest and the one in the middle with the turned up decopage capris! Darn, I knew I knew those outfits!

We were on our way to the Poly to have breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. They were in the same monorail car with us!

We're probably taking a day off tomorrow, I wanted to visit with my grandmother in Kissimmee tomorrow. I don't know if that's going to happen now, she apparently has a doc's appointment.

I think we're hitting a couple of the character premiere outlets tomorrow. I need a little down time and I think DD does as well. We'll definitelyl be back at it on Tuesday. We have dinner at Crystal Palace at 4 and then we're heading off to MVMCP.

If anyone who's down here is heading to the party, we'll be in front of Crystal Palace for the fireworks. DD will be in this outfit with red and while striped leggings.

Another shameless post. This is DD8 and DD4 (soon to be 5) visiting Santa today.Their shirts say " Dear Santa I Can Explain XOXO" and I found their pants at Target for $6.00. They got alot of attention for their outfits today (even from Santa) everyone thought I bought it as a set. Imagine the horror on DH's face when DD4 asked Santa for Butterscotch (the pony):rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

It looks just about perfect. I've been looking at it, wondering what you THINK it looks like, other than a Mickey with a Santa hat.

Oh my! :rotfl2: Well, I was thinking the fur looked too rectangular and the red looked more like a blob than a santa hat, but I didn't think it looked like something else! :rotfl2: I am laughing so hard!

:lmao: You know how it is when you are trying so hard to make something look perfect, and your mind starts to distort it....... But your reply is hilarious!!

That's it! When Megan woke up this morning I showed her and she said, hey! a mickey head with a santa hat! So if a 5 year old can tell what it is, I think I am safe!

I think it looks perfect!!!

i think it is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep going.
Lori

Thank you! Now I have to make them for the rest of us.

Simply adorable! Was he proud of his football?

I like how you used a real jingle bell and fur on it....Cute!

Megan likes it and wants to wear it to school: I hope the jingle bell isn't distracting at kindergarten.

Poor dad: their requests aren't going to get any cheaper, LOL! They look great!

This is just a shameless post..of my two (not so) little one's on Santa's lap.
I like the photo, but Santa is doing some weird Winky thing...weird..
Cute , very cute . i did not even notice santa's wierd wink until you said something

Love Ireland's socks! You should see santa in the photos I had taken with my kids. He looks asleep in every one!
That is so true ..

Okay, don't know what to do. My sewing machine is about 10 years old. At the time I bought it, it was the cheapest Singer at Walmart, so I'd be surprised if I spent more than $100 on it. I have been calling around for repairs on it and all estimates are from $85-$90. It is not a great machine, pretty basic and I'm always having problems with the bobbin case popping out, which I've heard is a problem with that model. I do have my mom's 50 year old Singer, which never breaks, but I can only do a straight stitch on it (I have a giant clunky zig-zag attatchment for it that makes a ruffler foot look dainty, but it does not work well enough for a satin stitch). I might as well buy a new machine, right? But really can't afford it right now since I just bought a serger. The brother 7700 is on sale right now at costco.com for $169, does anyone know how much it costs in the store? I know on-line Costco automatically factors in shipping to the price. It is probably a moot point anyway, but just trying to figure my options. Our Disneyworld trip is coming up in January and I have a lot of appliques planned that I have not done yet. Just needed to vent I guess, don't know what I will do.
i think that is the sewing machine wendy has i know she got hers at costco too and she LLLLLovesssss it i was tempted to get the same one but i have the brother c60001
i would say buy one that you like , i would not bother with repairs, IMO
we have to buy a new furnace so i hear you on not being able to afford things ..
Better late than never...here are a couple of outfits that I made for my DD and my DN for Thanksgiving. They both loved them and loved that they got to match with each other. They are very close to each other (18mos difference), probably because my sister and I have a relationship like Teresa and Heather do, so they hang out all the time. We always joke that our kids act and argue more like brothers and sisters than cousins! My sis and I were both very sad that our 3rd kids were both boys and that our girls won't get to have a relationship with a sister like we did. So we both think that it is great that they are so close!!!

Pics are done uploading so here we go...

Here is her twirl!

th_GmaBlondellBirthday305.jpg
cute and love the twirl factor, you go girl

My mom had a 50 year old Singer too and when she went to update it all the ladies in the quilt shop told her not to get a Singer. Now I guess they are very junky. I'm sorry yours quit on you. I don't think it would be worth it get it fixed. If I remember, the Brother got good reviews and seems like a good investment. I know, now you seem stuck between and rock and a hard place.

I love the matching girl outfits! I wish Megan had a cousin close to her age who lived near us. The dresses looks great and that is some twirl!

Here is what I did this afternoon. The hardest part was sewing on the buttons. I have some sort of button problem and have the worst time sewing them on. It didn't help that it is 85 degrees here and the needle was slipping out of my sweaty fingers! Oh well, Megan liked it. One more to go for Jacob!

th_100_2007.jpg
i like that i may have to case that ..

And there you go! Brrrrrrrrrrrrr, tonight we were going to go to a parade but I couldnt face standing in the cold (35 degrees out here) for three hours. I'd much rather be Dis'ing :disrocks:
cute it looks like they were having fun

Hi all! Great work everyone has done with the Christmas customs. I haven't decided if I'll do them or not since we'll be at WDW for 7 days during December, they wouldn't get to wear them much.

We went to see HSM on ice today. The girls wore their customs that they will also wear to MGM.

th_HSMIce004.jpg

th_HSMIce036.jpg

And thanks to all of your advice I was able to get a ticket for my other daughter to see Hannah Montana . I will be taking 5 girls to see HM on Mon night. This should be interesting.
cute, Good luck with the hannah concert 5 girls seem like alot but just think of the memory they will have

I had my niece today, the one who pukes at the thought of wearing custom clothes. I took one of you all's advice and allowed her to pick out some of her own fabric today. We decided to sew a purse together. She had a lot of fun and really liked how it turned out. I really wanted her to pick some Christmas fabric, but of course, she refused. :sad2:

Anywho, here are the pics of the purse...

th_PC010129.jpg

th_PC010122-1.jpg

After the purse was done, she decided she'd like an H on the front out of ribbon. That would have been soooo much easier if I hadn't already sewed the purse together. I did my best, but it's pretty crooked. This was my first time using my new sewing machine I got on black Friday. I think I did the satin stitch decently along the H.

Not a clothing item, but we also made this wreath together today...

th_PC010133.jpg

th_PC010137.jpg
that is too bad she did not want xmas fabric , the purse looks great, i love your wreath , i gotta finish mine and hang it up , me and utahmama made some out of dryer attachment and spray painted it a lime green

Okay, thanks to you guys I finally finished the I Spy bags I started several years ago!   I like them a lot better than my original pattern, especially the "handles" Thanks for the info in your bookmarks Teresa! I used regular fabric instead of fleece. Both sides are lined so through the window you see the same nice print as the outside. The vinyl is sandwiched between two cotton layers. (still need to laminate and attatch the lists of things to find)

th_DSCN2989_edited-1.jpg
those are too cute i have started my collection of lil things to put in mine so i can finish them , where did you use for the inside ? the crystal looking stuff(i can't think this morning) and where did you get it?

haven't posted that much in a long time... but I have kept up reading posts and getting inspiration. We leave in 10 days and I still have a couple more outfits to make. Here are some pretty bad pics of what I have been up to lately. Some are for Disney, some are not... The one with the pink bows isn't done yet -- we (DD and I) are deciding on which bows look better. The 50s style mickey head is for Prime Time Cafe.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the inspiration you have provided. Thanks everyone and sorry for the very long post

wow you have been a busy bee! they look great very cute

GREAT outfits the last few days -

Didn't make it to seaworld this weekend instead hit Busch Gardens - it was still a lot of fun and today we're heading to downtown disney for some shopping.

Can someone PLEASE send me the I-Spy Bag instructions I can't seem to get the link to load fully... it cuts half the page off!!!

This is the little dress/top she wore to Busch Gardens I found it at Salvation Army - for $2.99 it's a BEAUTIFUL handmade dress that I thought was perfect for Busch Gardens and then cause I bought it on Wednesday it was 1/2 off. So it was only $1.49! I couldn't have bought the material for $1.49!!!! I was in there looking for overalls and jeans to butcher which I found - but this was the best!! And it's fully lined with a giraffe print material as well!!!
