So I'm back in the mid-October posts and everyone shared their wedding photos. I loved seeing everyone! Just beautiful :) I know I'm late, but I'd like to share mine, if you don't mind. I had to do the photo of a photo thing so there is some flash glare that will have to be ignored.

My mom sewed my dress and all the bridesmaid dresses and the flower girl dress. I'm having trouble with the group photo so I'll try that again soon in natural light. But you can see me and the hubby.

We were married at the Disneyland Hotel. My colors were black, white and red and the guys all wore Mickey Mouse cumberbunds and a vest for the Best Man. Our cake topper was a crystal Cinderella Castle on the top tier and her coach and horses on the lower tier. Also, our centerpieces on all the tables were the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ear hats. Our guests fought over who would get to take them home! We made sure our mothers got one of each for us and we have a nice display of all our wedding stuff in a cabinet. Oh, our toasting glasses had Mickey/Minnie for the stem.

To keep it even more Disney, I walked down the aisle to "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. Sorry to go on, I just love talking about the day I married the most wonderful man in the world.

Okay, onto the pictures. The date is July 27, 1996, I was 22 and dh was 21.

I'll try to dig up preggers pics another time.

You look beautiful! Your wedding (and DH) sounds like a dream come true!

Okay, so has anyone seen the giant Disney appliques they now have at Joann's? I saw them today for the first time. They are that Fab-liques brand. They usually just have like the big fuzzy ducks and other baby-type appliques. I just scanned in the Cinderella I bought. It took everything I had not to buy Ariel too! This scan will give you an idea of the size (perfect for the leg of a pair of jeans) as you can see my 8 1/2"x11" scanner window cut a little off the right side. She measures about 9" tall and 8" wide. They also had Lightening McQueen, Mater, the police car from Cars :confused3 a cute furry Eeyore, Mickey, Nemo, and Tigger. They would be cute on the back of a jean jacket. I have no idea what I'll do with it. The downside is it cost $7.99 :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

scan.jpg

Darn you!!!!! I'm done with all the outfits for our trip! Now I'm going to be spending more money and making more things! :rotfl2: I love that! I hope my joann's has them. Or maybe it's better if they don't??

Do your little girls like wearing customs? Last night I told my niece that I bought a sewing machine to make her some cute Disney clothes. I told her I was going to make a Christmas shirt similar to her Halloween shirt to practice. Her response? BLECH :crazy2:, everyone at school made fun of me that day. I don't want anymore outfits. Then I tried to show her some of the outfits on photobucket you all have made, I got a :crazy2:, :crazy2:, :crazy2:, for most of them.

She's 7. Is she too old? I told her that your little girls love their outfits. I was really upset last night. If she doesn't lose the attitude she won't be going on a trip to WDW with my husband and I.

My dd7 will not wear any customs to school period! she refuses anything with ruffles or too bold. So I made here some basic customs for our trip since she says she doesn't care what people think there  I also make her skirts for church and pajamas. She just lovethe pajamas!! Ds5 on the other hand will wear anything I make him anywhere! I swear he'd wear a dress if I let him!

Cute! That dress looks so comfy. I have some soccer fabric waiting to become pjs too! If I showed you all the yet-to-become-outfits I have stashed here and there, I would probably exceed the image limit!

UGH - I hate when someone gives you a job to do - then corrects everything! You really should say "Looks like you have a better idea of what should be in the newsletter than I, maybe you should do it?" LOL on DH's comment - I get the same stuff from mine - my DH calls me a "professional volunteer".

It really wouldn't bother me if I thought the changes were good but they are not. She is always wanting to add pages and pages of parent tips and such to the newsletter. My philosophy is the less there is to read the more likely you are to read it!

Shoot, I just got back from JoAnn's and I forgot to check for the appliqués! Oh well, that's another excuse to go back (I forgot to buy needles too.).

Yoo Hoo, all you late nighter ladies:wave: ...
Ok, curious folk just gotta know...after you put the younglings to bed
& get cranking out these fabulous creations,
do you get to sleep in the next morning?:confused3
Does DH get the kids to school for you?:smooth:

I must say I'm just green with envy because ds(6)
get's the bus at 6:45 am. :faint: He goes to bed quick
at 8:30-9pm, but he's an early riser-often up before
the sun at 6:00 am or earlier. :sad2: It is impossible for
me to stay up late & create/work on anything-my brain
is a mush puddle at 8:00pm!!!:confused3 :rotfl2:

I was determined to get some sewing done last night
& drank coffee for dinner, to fight the exhaustion.:drinking1
Still didn't work-I cut up fabric all wrong & crooked. :sad2:
Then decided-I'll just cyber Christmas shop.:surfweb:
Just about snoozed out some where between "shopping cart" & price comparing!:ssst:
So I hit the hay & couldn't rest all night due to my
cup of joe surging & my brain trying to do financial calculations (shopping)!!!:scared1:

Here's to all the late night crew:thumbsup2 ,
I admire you much & one day-one day hope to be in the company!!!

Definitely applique Gingy & some sparkly glitter snowing around. I saw this fabric in the store & love it. It's soooo cute!!!!!

I don't know if I'm qualified to answer this question or not, since I'm not usually sewing when I stay up until 2AM! But, my son, who is 15 gets himself up and off to school. Sometimes he makes me coffee! :cloud9: Then, at about 7:00AM, I get up Arminda. I really should get to bed earlier. It's not that healthy to get so little sleep. Brian N E V E R gets up with Arminda. Unless, I pretend to have some sort of debilitating headache or something! And, the one time I did that, all I did was lay in bed thinking, "She is going to miss the bus, she is going to miss the bus. If he doesn't make her hurry, she is going to miss the bus." Guess what?????? She MISSED THE BUS! It wasn't worth the stress!

Wow these are cute. I never thought about making Build a bear outfits. Great Idea!

Yea Little People! BUT, what happened to Butterscotch the pony??:rolleyes1

I imagine Heather answered this alleady, but Butterscotch is at my parents house. My Dad bought it for the grandkids.

And, on that note, I am in LOVE  with that horse!!!! It is by far the COOLEST toy I have ever seen!!! It is so real and lifelike! You talk, and it looks at you. If it hears a noise, it cocks its little ears! She is cuddly and sweet, and I found myself giving her a hug and a kiss!!!!

Yeah, I let the kids play with her too!!! They all loved her!

I got the job!!:woohoo: They finally called me to come take a drug test which is the final process they don't know if the results will come back in time to start training on Mon. which is a bummer cause they only start training on the first day of a pay period. So if not I'll have to wait 2 more weeks:scared: I told them as long as they're not checking for chocolate we're solid.

WOOHOO!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Congratulations on the job Tifani!!!! I'm so happy for you!
Lily. You know I have gotten grief from everyone since day one over the spelling of her nickname. Cause her full name is Liliana and yet I have always spelled lily w/ a Y not an I even though I'm Tifani w/ an I not a Y. I have an I because my mom's name is Toni so logic would follow that I would spell it w/ an I to follow suit. But honestly I never gave it any thought. The plant is spelled Lily and that is just how I instinctively spelled it. Wierd.
Overthought and probably of NO interest to any of you so sorry for the ramble.

I am interested!!! Tifani with an I Lily with a Y I will try really hard to remember that! Or, I will just call her Little! ;) I always think that is so cute when I see you do that!

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been around much recently. I've been trying to get everything ready for the surgery, which will be on Wednesday.

My mother decided I don't need her help, so she's not coming to give me a hand, even though she lives only about 90 minutes away and has nothing better to do (I asked). I was really hurt, so I decided to give myself a few hours of "therapy" AKA sewing. This is what I ended up with.

DSCN0692.jpg

This is a detail of the front. It's highlighted with metallic thread which is not translating in the picture.
DSCN0693.jpg

It it MUCH prettier in real life, and not uneven, that's just the layout on the floor. It also needs a final ironing. I'll try to post pics tomorrow of DD wearing it, she's asleep now.

I also have an Ariel pink dress and a navy blue school dress in the works. I just wanted to get ontot he DIS, and showing this dress off is my excuse.

Thanks for being here.

This dress is stop me in my tracks gorgeous!!!!!! I really really love it!!!!!

I am SOOOO sorry about your Mom. I can't imagine her not coming to help you. Maybe she will change her mind?

It, interests me...I'm Nanci with an "I". Nobody ever gets it right though, if they remember the i, they for get the 2nd n...Naci...weird, huh? My sister is Judi, but that seems more common. I do know who to blame now after almost (cough) 40 years...my dad. He adopted a dog from the humane society, and decided to keep his name and change the spelling, so now they have a Kodi, just to keep it in the family.
Enjoy my ramble too...:)

I love these stories! I think we have farely common spellings in my family, just the no h in Teresa that sometimes throws people. ;) I have gotten SOOOO many different variations of the spelling of my name though. A lot of people put an extra a in there! Tearesa or Taresa, Tresa, of course, my husband calls me Tessie. (which is where Heather got Tessa's name from :cloud9: )

Ok, I hear Arminda on the phone. She called my Mom to see how Butterscotch was doing!!!

Guess what?????? She MISSED THE BUS! It wasn't worth the stress!

:lmao: Umm are we married to the same guy(my DH is Brian too!) I ALWAYS have to get my DD on the bus, which comes at 7 and the ONE time last year that I was up all night sick I basically had to hold his hand and tell him what to do and they barely made the bus. It would have been so much easier to just get out of bed and do it myself. I think that is what he wanted anyway!:confused3 My poor DD gets off the bus in the afternoon and says to me, "Mommy please get up to put me on the bus tomorrow, I DON'T want Daddy to do it!" I have even asked her this year if Daddy could put her on the bus so I could sleep in one day and she said NOOOOOO!!!!

I also forgot to post how much I LOVE the blue slipper dress Camelotcats! BEAUTIFUL! Good luck with the surgery and thanks for the fabric, I got it a couple of days ago!!! I will be sending mine out next week hopefully!

I also wanted to chime in on the spelling of names, my real name is Christina, my parents just dropped the "NA" (leaving Christi) and that is how I have always spelled my name. NO ONE ever spells it right!!! I get it with a "K", "CR", "KR" ends in a "Y", "IE" . I have just accepted that my name will never be correct!

Here is my vent: I am the secretary of our school's PTA and I do the newsletter. The president is always going behind me and redoing it after I send it the school for submission. I am getting fed up with it. I can't complain to my husband because he would ask, how much are they paying you again? He's so smart. :rolleyes1
That would be SOOO annoying!!! Here you are trying to help out, and its like they don't even appreciate it! Let you do it your way, or they can do it thereselves!
:cool1: Congrats! Hubby just got a new job, too! We can celebrate together. :cool1:
Congrats on your husbands new job!!!!!

I wish I could've stuck by my dad through the company's bankruptcy but I got kids to feed.
I was wondering how your parents were doing with all this. I am sure they understand though. Like you said, you have kids to feed.
okay here is the picture with my new color and cut wendy lou (utahmama did ) my dd was taking the picture and in walked DH that is why i am looking a different way but it shows my hair and that is what you guys wanted to see..:goodvibes

Lydia just walked by the computer and said, "OOOH, she is REALLY pretty!"
And, she is right!!! I love it!

WOOHOO!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Congratulations on the job Tifani!!!! I'm so happy for you!

Okay, now I really want Butterscotch! (uhm...for the kids I mean) we love to sit and play with her at Costco.

Well, what comes around goes around.....sorry she wouldn't help :sad2: Just think...now you wont have to help her next time she needs it :confused3
On a lighter note, I love the dress you made!!!:thumbsup2

I love when the mailman knocks on my door! It means packages!! I won this on Sunday, it came TODAY!! You would not believe what I paid for this set! (I've spent more on bows!) I am so impresesed, it came in a garment bag (inside a box of course!) Anyway I love it and DD does too!

Adorable! :goodvibes

I am so happy to finally be back to the DIS. I haven't been on since last Wednesday when my DS1 all of a sudden came down with the flu:sick: He was better by Thanksgiving and so were the rest of us so all was good, onto Friday night, I now start feeling blah. By Saturday morning I couldn't stay out of the bathroom! Then Sunday my DD6 gets the flu, then last night my DS5 started throwing up. UGGHHHH what a terrible week we have had. Somehow my DH(also not so dear) has escaped the flu. He decided that since I have already had it that I should be responsible for the rest of the puking kids!!!! :confused3 I should have made him stay up until 3:30 this morning with the overly dramatic son(usually not too drama). He couldn't just go to the bathroom, it was this whole production everytime he tossed his cookies...I see now that boys are just not as tough as girls when it comes to being sick even from a young age. I thought it was just the way that my MIL raised my DH, apparently not. Sorry if that was too much info!

Anyhow I love all of the wonderful creations over the past week! Too many to talk about. I am so disappointed, I really wanted to start my Christmas things for my DD, but that obviously has not happened! I did make it to JoAnn on black Friday for the flannel and the $1.79 christmas and a couple of disney things. I also went to Hancock, but didn't have much success there, except for finding some flamingo fabric for my DNiece, she just LOVES flamingos!

Well I am glad to be back among my friends on the DIS, especially since my SIL just called and rubbed it in that they are leaving for WDW in 10 days...which is the same time that we were supposed to be going so I am kind of bummed right now.

But on the up side I got a job at a Mortgage company as a loan officer and they are willing to let me work whatever hours I want and my DH told the kids a few weeks ago that if I had a job that next year we would go to WDW!!!! So I am going to work hard and get some money coming in for the vacation fund!     That deserves a 5 banana!
I hope everyone is feeling better  And yes, you have discovered an ancient scientific fact......men/boys are babies when they are sick...:rotfl: :rotfl: (sorry Tom!)

That's great about your new job!

Teresa - I know its been in your siggy forever but I just realized you are going to Disney for two weeks with 15 people.....are you all staying on property for that long??????????????????? Wowza!!! What a fabulous trip!:cheer2:

Here is the Christmas outfit I started on Thanksgiving and finally finished, serger hole and all. I sorta CASEd it from :wizard:

DD has been horribly grumpy today and refused to pose for pictures.

DSCN2982_edited-1.jpg

Here she is looking at the giant Mickey in the store window at the temporary Disney outlet place where I spent too much money on stocking stuffers! The serger hole is right there on the back of the blue/tree panel in the lower left hand corner. See, from that distance you can't even see it!

That is gorgeous! You did a fabulous job on it! I need to get started on my Christmas outfits, I have 3 planned and haven't started on any of them yet!

Lookin' gorgeous Misty! I need to get that Utahmama to do my hair!

I broke my cheapo one in some sort of ruffler foot accident. There is a round metal plate under the bobbin case that sort of rotates when the needle goes up and down. It has holes in it so when the needle goes down it goes through the hole. Somehow it is out of synch and instead of going through the hole in the plate, my needle hits metal now. I'm pretty handy in the fix-it department, but no idea what to do with this one! At least I have my mom's never-die 50-year-old machine! But no zig-zag stitch :sad2: And yes, DH was playing b-ball at the church. My neighbor who plays with him was telling me all about it today and who got injured and who is limping the worst. I told him that is what happens when a bunch of old men play basketball! ANd on the name pronunciation thing, my name is Jeanne, pronounced like Genie but no one ever says it right. I usually get "Gee ann" which I hate, but I don't really like my name in the first place so hey, just call me Jammy like Wendy does :rotfl: I'm stocking up on the Diet Pepsi now for our chartered flight to Michigan! Hope Wendy knows she's supposed to charter the jet! Why not just get John Travolta to fly us out?[/QUOTE]hey that is an even better idea i will call him up and with my new movie star due He can't refuse:rotfl:

my DD is 6 1/2 and she loves them she says she feels like hillary duff or hanah montanna or raven i could go on ,,, the 1st one she wore to school she did get made fun of By her Best (well not now) freind and she just said to her , these are made special for me not like the store bought stuff THAT EVERYONE HAS AND CAN BUY !!!! it was cute to watch her put her friend in her place. :woohoo: for Jayedyn..she has had alot of her friends ask her :rotfl: to tell me to make them some too...

Very nice haircut and color! Can I come to Utah on the private jet too? Just make a detour to Atlanta!

Good Morning All! (It is still morning here on the West Coast! ;) )

I should be out Christmas shopping, making the kids candy advents, doing Christmas cards, cleaning house, getting on the treadmill, wrapping presents, getting the Christmas decorations down from the attic, etc, etc. But all I want to do it SEW! I know you all understand! I whipped up (really - this one was fast!) this dress the other day for DD. She picked out the fabric herself and really loves it.

And I have these projects staring me in the face!

And these fabrics to make an apron (pink and green) and one more Christmas outfit for DD:
th_DSC_1816.jpg

Today was pajama day at school - I forgot to snap a pic of my kiddos this AM - but will get one when they come home! They are wearing their matching Disney Store Christmas jammies! I wanted to get DD's HM gown done yesterday - but just couldn't! I had a crown prep done in the morning and wasn't feeling up to par. I was upset that my previous crown (11 years ago) broke - I just hate spending money on it - and was putting it off. The quick repair the dentist did so I could go to Disney World broke about a week ago and I was super bummed - so God decided to teach me a lesson in "it could always be worse" and two days after my crown repair broke a 1/4 of my tooth on the other side of my mouth broke off!!! So in the next 4 weeks I will have 2 crown preps and 2 seats!!! Eeek - sorry for the ramble!
Lori
cute stuff, can't wait to see the pj's i need to get on my kids also  i hate the dentist , i have been loosing teeth left and right after my complete hysterectomy:eek: and am now waiting patiently to get my implants done but stuff keeps happening,, i hate that i can't smile (well i can i just look like a dork missing my two frontish teeth oh maybe that is all i want for xmas  Good Luck with that .:goodvibes
That would be SOOO annoying!!! Here you are trying to help out, and its like they don't even appreciate it! Let you do it your way, or they can do it thereselves!

Congrats on your husbands new job!!!!!

I was wondering how your parents were doing with all this. I am sure they understand though. Like you said, you have kids to feed.

Lydia just walked by the computer and said, "OOOH, she is REALLY pretty!"
And, she is right!!! I love it!
Thanks , Lydia :goodvibes Thanks it is fun waking up every morning and doing something different and for it to be long now (for the last 5 ish yrs or so i have had the short meg ryan doo.)Jayedyn saw my wedding picture and asked me if i would grow it long and i said yes and now i love it it is fun to play with alot of different styles...:goodvibes

well i feel good i have a clean house upstairs (even my Bedroom.) and down (except that stinking laundry room (CAVE) which will be done tomorrow as i sew away . i am going on a date with my DH i am excited so i won't be on tonight ..
Everyone have a great friday..

Here is what I have been creating.
A Disney Apron top with a white t-shirt. I have a nice pair of knit pants to go with it.
IMG_5456.jpg

And the scottie dog dress with a chenille skirt.

I saw an outfit on :wizard: made with chenille and I liked the idea. I don't know if I like how it looks so far. DH likes it.

It needs a zipper and a hem or a ruffle on the bottom.
IMG_5457.jpg

IMG_5458.jpg

I am thinking of trying a scottie applique on a white t shirt and a pair of scottie pants. Or maybe I will go work on my Christmas bag.
