Here is what I have been creating.
A Disney Apron top with a white t-shirt. I have a nice pair of knit pants to go with it.
IMG_5456.jpg

And the scottie dog dress with a chenille skirt.

I saw an outfit on :wizard: made with chenille and I liked the idea. I don't know if I like how it looks so far. DH likes it.

It needs a zipper and a hem or a ruffle on the bottom.

I am thinking of trying a scottie applique on a white t shirt and a pair of scottie pants. Or maybe I will go work on my Christmas bag.

Very cute! I love the ric-rac

Okay, so has anyone seen the giant Disney appliques they now have at Joann's? I saw them today for the first time. They are that Fab-liques brand. They usually just have like the big fuzzy ducks and other baby-type appliques. I just scanned in the Cinderella I bought. It took everything I had not to buy Ariel too! This scan will give you an idea of the size (perfect for the leg of a pair of jeans) as you can see my 8 1/2"x11" scanner window cut a little off the right side. She measures about 9" tall and 8" wide. They also had Lightening McQueen, Mater, the police car from Cars :confused3 a cute furry Eeyore, Mickey, Nemo, and Tigger. They would be cute on the back of a jean jacket. I have no idea what I'll do with it. The downside is it cost $7.99 :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I LOVE THIS!! I might have to get a bunch for our trip! I hope they're available online. (Our JoAnn's is in Liquidation. :()

Good Morning All! (It is still morning here on the West Coast! ;) )

I should be out Christmas shopping, making the kids candy advents, doing Christmas cards, cleaning house, getting on the treadmill, wrapping presents, getting the Christmas decorations down from the attic, etc, etc. But all I want to do it SEW! I know you all understand! I whipped up (really - this one was fast!) this dress the other day for DD. She picked out the fabric herself and really loves it.

And these fabrics to make an apron (pink and green) and one more Christmas outfit for DD:
th_DSC_1816.jpg

Today was pajama day at school - I forgot to snap a pic of my kiddos this AM - but will get one when they come home! They are wearing their matching Disney Store Christmas jammies! I wanted to get DD's HM gown done yesterday - but just couldn't! I had a crown prep done in the morning and wasn't feeling up to par. I was upset that my previous crown (11 years ago) broke - I just hate spending money on it - and was putting it off. The quick repair the dentist did so I could go to Disney World broke about a week ago and I was super bummed - so God decided to teach me a lesson in "it could always be worse" and two days after my crown repair broke a 1/4 of my tooth on the other side of my mouth broke off!!! So in the next 4 weeks I will have 2 crown preps and 2 seats!!! Eeek - sorry for the ramble!
Lori

THose are going to be so cute. I love the dress. Where did you ge tthe shirt you used for the top? I can't wait to see the other outfits!

Here is the Christmas outfit I started on Thanksgiving and finally finished, serger hole and all. I sorta CASEd it from :wizard:

DD has been horribly grumpy today and refused to pose for pictures.

th_DSCN2982_edited-1.jpg

Here she is looking at the giant Mickey in the store window at the temporary Disney outlet place where I spent too much money on stocking stuffers! The serger hole is right there on the back of the blue/tree panel in the lower left hand corner. See, from that distance you can't even see it!

th_DSCN2984_edited-1.jpg

That looks amazing. I have my own little grump today. You can't notice the problem at ALL. It looks great!!

WOW! I love the first one. I agree the scond one needs something. Maybe a big scottie applique on the chenille part? I don't know. It's starting off really well. :)

I LOVE looking here for inspiration!!

Hey Everyone! THank you so much for all the kind words about my surgery, Mother, and the dress. (for the lady who asked, I am having my gallbladder out on Wednesday)

To clarify a few things:

The glass slippers are embroidered, not appliqued. I have embroidery machnes, so I prefer embroidery, as it's quicker. I guess I'm just lazy.

The sash on the dress is too short for what I want, and I am going to remove and lengthen it. :headache: :sad2:

Here's a pic of DD in it:
DSCN0694.jpg

Not the best pic, but she's in a mood. I'm going to try to get more tomorrow. She already asked if she can wear itto the winter carnival tomorrow!! I'll probably let her, she loves it so much,a nd I hate to make her wait 4 months. :cloud9:

It's too big because we're going to WDW in April, and I want it to still fit then. pirate:

Again, thank you all for the kind words! They mean a lot. I was feeling realy down yesterday. I have people coming over in 10 minutes, so I have to run, but I wanted to say a big

THANK YOU!!

Does anyone have a pattern that will fit the American Girl doll? I just bought DD a Nicki for Christmas...her first AG, she's so deprived:rolleyes: ... and I would like to dress the thing in an inexpensive way.

Any tips?

Wow this is adorable. I can't see the hole at all. That Disney store looks like a lot of fun!

There is a round metal plate under the bobbin case that sort of rotates when the needle goes up and down. It has holes in it so when the needle goes down it goes through the hole. Somehow it is out of synch and instead of going through the hole in the plate, my needle hits metal now. I'm pretty handy in the fix-it department, but no idea what to do with this one!
I'm stocking up on the Diet Pepsi now for our chartered flight to Michigan! Hope Wendy knows she's supposed to charter the jet! Why not just get John Travolta to fly us out?

The same thing happened to my sewing machine about a year ago. It was electronic, so it cost $80 to fix it!

There is an airport right behind my house, so if the jet isn't TOO big, you should be able to land there, and I'll come pick you up.

So I'm back in the mid-October posts and everyone shared their wedding photos. I loved seeing everyone! Just beautiful :) I know I'm late, but I'd like to share mine, if you don't mind. I had to do the photo of a photo thing so there is some flash glare that will have to be ignored.

My mom sewed my dress and all the bridesmaid dresses and the flower girl dress. I'm having trouble with the group photo so I'll try that again soon in natural light. But you can see me and the hubby.

We were married at the Disneyland Hotel. My colors were black, white and red and the guys all wore Mickey Mouse cumberbunds and a vest for the Best Man. Our cake topper was a crystal Cinderella Castle on the top tier and her coach and horses on the lower tier. Also, our centerpieces on all the tables were the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ear hats. Our guests fought over who would get to take them home! We made sure our mothers got one of each for us and we have a nice display of all our wedding stuff in a cabinet. Oh, our toasting glasses had Mickey/Minnie for the stem.

To keep it even more Disney, I walked down the aisle to "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. Sorry to go on, I just love talking about the day I married the most wonderful man in the world.

Okay, onto the pictures. The date is July 27, 1996, I was 22 and dh was 21.

I'll try to dig up preggers pics another time.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thank you for sharing these!!!

Well-- I took the day off work to finish packing, take the dog to the kennel, etc. since we leave for WDW bright and early tomorrow morning. So far I've got the kids (only) packed, but that's it. So I'd better get a move on.

Have fun!!

The same thing happened to my sewing machine about a year ago. It was electronic, so it cost $80 to fix it!

 I doubt my machine is worth $80! It is not electronic though. Now I just have to find a repair place!

Darn you!!!!! I'm done with all the outfits for our trip! Now I'm going to be spending more money and making more things! :rotfl2: I love that! I hope my joann's has them. Or maybe it's better if they don't??

My dd7 will not wear any customs to school period! she refuses anything with ruffles or too bold. So I made here some basic customs for our trip since she says she doesn't care what people think there  I also make her skirts for church and pajamas. She just lovethe pajamas!! Ds5 on the other hand will wear anything I make him anywhere! I swear he'd wear a dress if I let him!
I have a picture of Corey in a dress somewhere.............................

:lmao: Umm are we married to the same guy(my DH is Brian too!) I ALWAYS have to get my DD on the bus, which comes at 7 and the ONE time last year that I was up all night sick I basically had to hold his hand and tell him what to do and they barely made the bus. It would have been so much easier to just get out of bed and do it myself. I think that is what he wanted anyway!:confused3 My poor DD gets off the bus in the afternoon and says to me, "Mommy please get up to put me on the bus tomorrow, I DON'T want Daddy to do it!" I have even asked her this year if Daddy could put her on the bus so I could sleep in one day and she said NOOOOOO!!!!

Must be the Brian thing!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Okay, now I really want Butterscotch! (uhm...for the kids I mean) we love to sit and play with her at Costco.
You need her, you really really do!!!!!

Teresa - I know its been in your siggy forever but I just realized you are going to Disney for two weeks with 15 people.....are you all staying on property for that long??????????????????? Wowza!!! What a fabulous trip!:cheer2:

We do this every three to four years. It is SOOO much fun! We are renting two houses. We are getting them for $550 a week (each). I am so excited! This will be Sawyers first trip!!!!   It is always a lot of fun! This year all my neices,(my brother's two and Heather's Tessa) and my girls are doing BBB!
We have her. santa brought her last year and we love her!

Lori

She is so cool, isn't she! My Mom and I were playing with her last night while the kids were in a different room! We were giggling like little girls!

I don't see a hole at all. I know you said you CASED it, but did you use a pattern? I have been thinking of trying a dress like that for Lyddy (before she gets too big for all those ruffles!).
And, where is this Disney outlet?

my DD is 6 1/2 and she loves them she says she feels like hillary duff or hanah montanna or raven i could go on ,,, the 1st one she wore to school she did get made fun of By her Best (well not now) freind and she just said to her , these are made special for me not like the store bought stuff THAT EVERYONE HAS AND CAN BUY !!!! it was cute to watch her put her friend in her place. :woohoo: for Jayedyn..she has had alot of her friends ask her :rotfl: to tell me to make them some too...
I have a feeling I would really like Jayedyn! Way to stick up for herself!

well i feel good i have a clean house upstairs (even my Bedroom.) and down (except that stinking laundry room (CAVE) which will be done tomorrow as i sew away . i am going on a date with my DH i am excited so i won't be on tonight ..
Everyone have a great friday..
Have fun on your date!

She looks GORGEOUS in it!!!!

There are quite a few in the bookmarks. Look under Dolls/doll clothes/ 18" American Girl

 I doubt my machine is worth $80! It is not electronic though. Now I just have to find a repair place!

They said it would have been a lot cheaper if it wasn't for the electronic part.

Hi Everyone,

Happy Weekend!!

I have to make a girls size 14 twirl skirt (patchwork) and was wondering if anyone already had all the calculations figured out, or do I just use the same formula and add another row at the bottom and a larger waistband????

Any help would be great!! My mom just sprung this on me tonight, of course after I got ready to put together a few pairs of Veggietale pants for my DN and DN's and some PJ pants to keep up with my Christmas gift creating!!!!!

Wendy:santa:

My DH is a Brian, too! And so is my dad, my cousin, my grandfather, my brother's middle name....

Can you tell it's a family name? My DH married into the right one!

I just love the dress with Baby Jesus on it!!! And what a nice fabric stash you have ready to go! Sorry about your teeth....my DD just broke a tooth yesterday so they ended up pulling it since it was a baby tooth anyways. Hope all goes well for you at the dentist.

I'm looking for some sewing labels that say Hand Made by Mommy. Or Sewn for You By Chantell. Does anyone have a source they use? I found www.namemaker.com, but don't know anything about them. I'd like to buy some for a Christmas present.

TIA!

All I can say is WOW! So cute! I just might have to try to CASE that one!

I don't see a hole at all! The same thing happened to me on one of the dresses I made. I patched it in and all was well. I spent way too much time appliqueing it to toss that one in the trash!

I just spent all night trying to organize all of my fabric! Geez, I didn't know I had that much!

I was so frustrated trying to find a piece of fabric for a project that I am working on, I had to put it on hold to organize!
Still not done, but I have filled most of one large bookcase with fabric. Sorted by color or season.

Now the ribbon, wicky wack;) , buttons, and other stuff needs to be organized too, but I am too tired!

Keep up all the inspiring ideas! You all amaze me with your talents!

I love this!

Anybody made a pair? I looked in the bookmarks, and saw the tutorial for it using tissue paper. I want to use fabric on faux canvas Keds. Any hints or tips are appreciated. :)
