Here's a picture from last year.....he was fixing his bike...a daily occurance

What a handsome young man!
Thank you SOOOOOOOO much for posting this Lisa! Because I just had to run out and try it! Yep, I just caught the wrong part of a skirt in the cutting blade of the serger! UGH! You'd think after reading that, I'd be a little careful! But I've had this jumper sitting around half finished for days and just wanted to GET IT DONE. Fortunately it is only a small cut (about 1 1/2" long and no width was taken off) and fortunately it is just for DD2 who will never care and fortunately it is just a Christmas top, so it's only a One Month Outfit anyway, so I'm just stitching up the tear and hoping it is twirly enough that no one will ever notice!
UGGH! I'm glad it wasn't a big cut though!
Here's a picture from last year. I HATED their costumes, especially when I saw the adorable Cinderella, Belle, and Dorothy from Wizard of Oz that other girls had. They did have to have their hair up in a bun and they had to wear makeup, which they adored. Sorry, I have no idea how to resize this ridiculously large picture.
th_Picture331.jpg
They look adorable!!!

I just got home from the fabric store- (got my swap material) and I saw this big sausage like bag stuffed with fabric and it had 399 written on it. I asked the cashier is it $3.99 and she said yes- I'll take it!! I was really excited at having found such a deal. Here are a couple pics- my dh thinks I am a little nutso for being SO excited but WOW there was ALOT of stuff in there from 3 inch strips to almost full yard pieces!!!!

47b7cf06b3127cceb09aeb8cad9d00000026101AZsXLhszbMY

There was over 50 pieces in there!!! FOR $3.99, even if I use it for practicing I don't care- I'm feeling like I hit the mother load of fabric deals!!!!

I would be SOOOO excited to find a bag like that!!!

OK, just for fun, here is my dd's recital costume from last year. The umbrella was their prop. Pretty big for 2.5 to 5 year olds!

th_20060610_1059.jpg

I love it! The umbrella is very cute!

That is what I was afraid of. I have a real problem with makeup on my DD(I just don't like it, neither does she), my DD has such sensitive skin and allergies. It looks like dance is not something we can do. Maybe we will try soccer :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Cindee

I would think that if you explained that to them, they would understand.

I just love the tangents we go off on! Since I have no current dancers in the family, I will post a photo of DD10 when she was probably 6 in her recital costume. They danced to "Celebrate" or whatever that song is called.

th_P1000254.jpg

The weird thing is, she still wears it sometimes when she plays dress up!

Oh how sweet! She is so pretty!

I have some pictures of my princess in the outfit I made.
Leigh begging to stop with the pictures already!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Cute Tom!

Alright I see what's happening teresajoyce!! trying to get to that 1000 mark- j/k. I hate when I get behind and want to multiquote everything but not forget what I want to say about stuff. I usually just give up and make generalizations about things- So I commend you for trying to keep up with everyone- I guess that's why your the queen of posts :worship: :worship:

I wanted to add that the "fabric sausage" was from hancocks and say that is was also my first time in Hancocks- I will be returning- :) But they had NO princess fabric!!!! Guess I'll be making a trip to walmart or Joanns- Poor me.......

Am I there yet????? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I thought of multi quoting, but there were too many things to comment on!

I think I might have missed the picture of Misty's daughter in her dance outfit in my quotes too! She looks darling Misty!

NO PRINCESS FABRIC???? What are they thinking!??!!

Ok, I think I'm all caught up for tonight, I need to go to bed!

Just looked at the clock!!! It's 2AM!!! UGGH!

Yep- not one piece of a disney princess anywhere!! Not even Tink!!! Apparently it has been a BIG seller lately- But I did buy some little einsteins, backyardigans (not disney I know, but the kids LOVE it), CARS, Nemo. But CARS & Nemo are for the fabric exchange :goodvibes-
GOODNIGHT!!!

UH! What???!!!?? :scared1: I hope you have added a post that says that she came over to apologize and thank you! (I'm a bit behind!) I can't belive she didn't say something right away! That outfit was gorgeous!

Um, nothing yet. I have talked to her a couple of times and I so want to bring it up but I don't want to make her feel bad. She called me yesterday offering to take Megan to her Daisy meeting because it conflicts with the mother/son dance (she is the co-leader). So she is a nice and thoughtful person usually!

So cute! You are getting better and better. I am looking for your new website full of beautiful customs any day now!

I remember that Jasmine one when you gave us a sneak peek at it! It came out great! And those Cinderella and Belle jumpers are to die for. You are going to have a great time!

Here is my frustration of the day. I went to JoAnn's to buy net for the pettiskirt. The pattern said 1 7/8 yds so that is what I bought. When I got home I couldn't get the pattern piece to fit on the net. I look back at the pattern and it says the net is 70" across. Of course, when I measure mine, it was only 54". So back to the fabric store I go to buy more net!

We get there Thursday 11/29 and we'll be there through Sunday 12/9. We also have tickets for the 12/4 MVMCP. Might see you there, I'm the one with the very active three year old and three adults with British accents. :) My inlaws are meeting us.

Can't wait to get there. I just have to pack still. Nothing like waiting until the last possible minute.

I'll post custom pictures in the morning. I have to find my camera and my husband doesn't know where he left the other camera. I hope we find it before we leave, it's got my DD's ballet class pictures on it.

We're staying at All Star Movies.

Can't wait to see your customs, cause those will be the first things I recognize! We'll be at MVMCP on 12/4 also, so look for us!

WOO HOO!!!

These are all fantastic, but this is my very favorite!!!

Why, thank you! Sarah just loves it!

Well, maybe she is feeling pretty bad that her dd didn't get to wear it, and doesn't want to hurt your feelings by saying so. I'd just casually ask if it fit ok, and if she'll be able to wear it next year. That should break the tension!!!

Thanks for the comments on the jumpers. I really wanted to do the bodice like the one on :wizard: and Aimee's, but I had no clue where to start. So, those are just from the pillow panels. I'm not thrilled with them, but the girls are so that works for me!

So, all it takes for a petti is 1 7/8yds? I can't wait to see it!

He's a cutie! Oh, I wish my ds was that young again! He's still my baby at 19, but he doesn't fit in my lap like he used to! Though, he does try!!!

I have some pictures of my princess in the outfit I made.

I also appliqued a t-shirt, and made a pair of red corduroy pants for her, with a little applique on them.

WOW! As awesome as the jumper is/was - the entire ensemble is just amazing! You are very talented!

I wondered about this too. One the one hand I can understand the teachers wanting the kids "full" attention, on the other hand I don't think I would take it well if some stranger told me I HAD to leave the room.

What about the makeup for recitals? Do you HAVE to makeup your child?

Cindee

When I took Ireland to dance, we had a one way mirror, and also a balcony that we could sit on to watch. I stayed with her in the class for the first day, but then decided that it was her time to learn, and I spent the hour making friends with the other mothers. It was a wonderful time for both of us. Her class did the Libby Lu look. They had sparkles in her hair and some very light make up. Nothing dark. light pink eye shadow, and a little blush.

I am sure if you tell them of allergies it will be ok. there is also hypoallergenic makeup out there.

a balcony sounds neat. It is nice sometimes to hang with the other moms!

The Elves were his too but the only picture I got of the elve was a little scary LOL (The preformer not the outfit) If anyone went to SW for the Halloween thing- you probably saw A LOT of his work.

Good morning everyone.

I have 2 questions if anyone can answer.

1. If im going to applique a tshirt do I take that piece off of the machine. The one that you can take off to make cuffs I guess. I know stupid question.

2. How do I go on ebay and find a specific seller?

Like always beautiful work from everyone. You guys make it look so easy. I'll have to see about posting my pillow case so everyone can have a good laugh.

Thanks

tnMom, Pixiedust in AK and Princess Reily

I love all of your outfits. Can't wait to see photos of your darlings visiting the world.

Very Cool your sweetie works for SW! :cool2: I love the penguin top and skirt.

Someone's probably going to answer better/faster than I do, but...

1. If im going to applique a tshirt do I take that piece off of the machine. The one that you can take off to make cuffs I guess. I know stupid question.

I didn't. I think having a large flat space to work made it easier. If you're trying to do it on a small area that curves (like a sleeve or something) you might take that piece off, but if you're doing it on the front of a t-shirt, I doubt you'd need to.

Good morning everyone.

2. How do I go on ebay and find a specific seller?

If you go to eBay and click on "Advanced Search" (a link next to the regular search field), you can get more choices. One of the choices in the left-hand column of the Advanced Search page is "Find a Member". Put in that members name and they'll come right up.

I know I promised these pics days ago, but I couldn't get back online at my aunt's & it took forever to get them uploaded once I got home. Anyway, here they are.

DD4's Little Einsteins outfit. I'm going to have to get photopass pics of her with the Playhouse Disney characters. Mine are ALL blurry (so are my princess ones). gggrrrrr

2007_11180015.jpg

If you have a Disney Vise, you HAVE to go to the Meet n Greet at Epcot. Just be sure you get there at least by the time it starts if not before 'cause that line is very very slow. The characters 'talked' to all of us & danced with dd & posed for all the pics we wanted. It was great!

I don't have good pics of the Pooh character shirts I made, but the characters loved them. DD4 was esctatic to meet Piglet (she sleeps with a stuffed Piglet & has since she was a baby).

Very excited to meet Peter Pan & especially Wendy (love having a character with my name).

And the required sewing pic. ;)

We had a great trip. The weather was wonderful & the girls had soooooooo much fun. I was very sad to leave, but there's talk of going back in 2 years!

100 Acre Princess- Everything you made for your trip is fabulous!

So fun to see the Minnie's Sewing Machine as per required for this thread.

My name is Wendy too. I really like that character and her motherly-ness!
