Those of you that have your children in dance classes - are you allowed to stay in the class and watch, or are no parents allowed into the classroom? I just took my DD to her first class and was a little surprised to be told that parents don't stay in the classroom. Is this standard for dance classes?
This is my girls second year in dance. We are at a new studio this year and it is MUCH more organized and disciplined than where we were last year. We could not go in last year, but there was a small window you could look in. They came out to change their tap shoes and of course, there was always a parade to the bathroom. This year, they bring their taps in with them and the bathroom is actually on the other side of the studio, so there is no need to come out at all. There is a window, but there are blinds on it that are always closed. Sometimes, there is a tiny crack inthem and you can see a few feet, but no one goes in. The head teacher has been teaching for 35+ years and is a former Rockette. She is my former teacher. There is absolutely no funny business allowed.
Here's a picture from last year. I HATED their costumes, especially when I saw the adorable Cinderella, Belle, and Dorothy from Wizard of Oz that other girls had. They did have to have their hair up in a bun and they had to wear makeup, which they adored. Sorry, I have no idea how to resize this ridiculously large picture.
