Lurker here speaking up. I have done very little sewing until recently. My grandmother gave me a machine she didn't like (Brother XL6562). I have made some purses, my daughter's Halloween costume and various other small things.

I really enjoy seeing everyone's projects. It is what has motivated me to really start trying to sew. Of course, I have spent alot of time doing this :surfweb: trying to keep up with the amount of posting but it gives me great tips and inspiration.

Jennifer

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! Welcome! We'd love to see what you're creating!

wow, I just checked this thread this morning & I come back to 5 pages! LOL I love all the work I've seen. What great outfits & cute kids!!

I need some opinions please. I sewed this shirt for ds. I meant for it to be angled but now I can't decide if it looks okay. So does the square look like it was meant to lay at an angle or does it look like I can't sew in a straight line??? Does that make any sense???? Should I redo it?

You turned this one out pretty fast, Deann! You amaze me. It turned out really cute, too!

It's adorable, Lisa!

Hey Cindee I'm in Fla too. Don't sit in the corner let's sit outside and sip lemonade and work on our tan.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
That's it, now you're in the corner! ::cop:

I've lurked here for a looong time. I LOVE your work! I have no girls, 3 boys that are too old for cute stuff and I don't sew, but I LOVE this thread:goodvibes
Hi Katy, if I haven't told you this already- Welcome!

I'm a Florida girl too..and boy my tan needs work. Come to my house and we can take a dip in the pool....I still have all of my floats out there, including a giant Nemo...LOL :rolleyes1
That's it, I'm no longer speaking to you. :snooty:

2cutekidz- I love the decoupage jeans set! I accidentally erased the picture in my multi-quote. I also love that idea for a matching top!!

LOL!

CALLING ALL LURKERS!!!!!

COME OUT OF HIDING AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!!!!!

WE DON'T CARE IF YOU CAN'T SEW!!!

COME ON!!! WE KNOW YOU ARE OUT THERE!!!

popcorn::
I 2nd that (or 3rd or 4th or 5th since I'm still a few pages behind on the thread).

I have a quick question....What is CASE-ing?

I saw it mntioned a few times, but I skipped about 1,000 pages and missed it somewhere. :rolleyes1

Thanks in advance
Cut All Seams Evenly- yeah, that's what it means! :thumbsup2 Or, maybe Calling All Sewers Everywhere, or Can't Always Seat Eleven

These are really cute!!!

(Heather could tell you exactly how big they were by looking, but I need a tape measurer.....8 1/2" X 8 1/4")

I think now is the time to reveal my secret talent- the ability to measure things with my eyes. Yes, I can do that. Please, no applause!!

I need to vent....Gosh, I am so upset at our favorite auction site. I listed a yard of fabric a long time ago. Someone bid and won, and then decided not to pay. She's been telling me that she sent the check, and then she said 2 weeks later that she sent another check. Well...gee, guess what. 30 days later...no check. Big surprise.:sad2: So what does my nice buyer do, I left her neutral feedback, because she did keep in touch with me, I was trying to be nice, she decided to leave me a negative feedback for not taking paypal. I wish ebay would change their policies on that. If someone is a non payer, they should get negative feedback with out being able to retaliate (SP). It's just not fair. I work so hard to make all of my buyers happy, and then you get a loser like this...make's me angry...
Okay vent over...now we can get back to our regular programming of cute kids with just out of the bath hair, and cute outfits that we spent way too much time making...:rolleyes1

Isn't that frustrating? I left a seller 1 neutral and 2 positive feedbacks because he sold me short on some fabric and it had stains on it. So, he left me THREE negatives! So frustrating!

This won't help in this situation, but it might help in the future. I never leave feedback for a non-paying bidder until after the non-paying bidder dispute has been resolved. I don't think they can leave feedback for you after that. But, you can still leave them a negative. I also don't accept any form of payment besides paypal. It might cost me more money, but it saves me a lot of headaches (had one too many buyer tell me the "check was lost in the mail").

I liked all of your stuff! Especially the HSM jacket! I couldn't make out what this picture was of.

:wave2: Hi Teresa I was just wondering how you sister is  today? I have not seen her on much. I hope she gets well soon.:cheer2:
I feel so loved, thank you for asking! I'm still feeling pretty craptacular. Hopefully this will pass soon!

:welcome: party: See what you get when you come out of lurkdom?! Parties and everything! Glad to have you here, Jennifer!!

These are so sweet! I wish Sawyer would keep bibs on.

I love all the fabrics, especially the swirly green one (it looks like it should have hidden mickeys in it). I think if you add another fabric, it would be fine!

I looked at the picture before I saw what you wrote and all I thought was "What a little cutie in a cute little shirt." So, I think it looks fine at an angle. I assumed you were going for that "jaunty" look.

Welcome back AimeeG! I was wondering where you went!

I lost my quotes but great job everyone on all of the outfits! I love all of the Cinderella work dresses!

LisaZoe, I love the skirt w/ the pettiskirt or without, I completely understand about not letting her wear it to school. I've been looking for that Michael Miller fabric around here too and everywhere is sold out. I was told at our local quilt shop that they get their Christmas fabric in in April and they put it on sale by July so for them, I'm looking at the wrong time (late for last year but early for next!). Before I learned to sew I had my MIL make skirts (last year) for my girls in the coordinating red ornament fabric and she has promised to send me the left overs but hasn't yet. She also has my Wal-mart minnie dot fabric (and there ought to be a ton of it!) and my Hancock Minnie Dot fabric. I want it back! She said that she was going to send it with the girls Halloween costumes but nothing. I guess I'm going to have to call her. :sad1:

All of this talk about cold weather inspired me-

Cindee

GREAT! Now I have to hidethe computer from my 4 year old! *sigh*

Seriously, It's absolutely adorable. Your little girl AND her outfit.

(no pic link...post count too low. *pout*)

Semi-Lurker here !
I want to make my niece an outfit for the Pirate & Princess party in March. Is there a pattern to make the Mickey pirate applique - or do you draft the two pieces freehand?
:confused3

I finished DD's Decoupage set!! Thanks to everyone for all of the tips! I fused some pieces and pinned some too. I think next time I'll just pin as I go.

I've already washed and trimmed these! The top was sooo easy to do - I'll be making more of these sets!

Very cute outfit! Love the fabric! Looks comfy too!
IF you don't want to use expensive stabiliser for something quick like this, a coffee filter will work well to stabilise and tear away easily. I've used them in a pinch.

Coffee Filters! Every time I use stabilizer I think it feels like something and couldn't figure out what, but that's it! Good to know it'll work in a pinch too!

Ok, I have to know, where can I get these cool outfits for Disney? My DD is 8 but the tree skirt would be great, along with some of the other not so kiddish outfits. We are going to WDW for Christmas and I just think the outfits would suit any Holiday occasion.
How do I find these on EBay?
TIA

If you look at people's posts you will notice on their signatures that some of them include their Ebay ID's. Lots of women on this thread sew and sell beautiful creations.

The whole retalliation thing is so annoying. I've had lots of non-paying buyers and I'm always afraid that they will give me negative feedback if I leave it for them. Really ANNOYING! Somehow I think Ebay ought to be able to regulate it so that they automatically get negative for non-payment w/o fear of that. So sorry that happened to you!

Some of my hippie work (I am SOO bad at remembering to take pics!)

These are some jeans I made a friend's daughter:
bflybabyjeans.jpg

This is a bag I made with the scraps from the jeans for a different friend's daughter:http://www.camelotcats.com/fairybag.jpg

This is a dress I made dd 2 years ago (now, i's a shirt). I've made about 500 variations of this same dress. this is the only stinking picture!

And this is an apron top I made for myself. It looks funny on the mannequin because I have HUGE bajombas. http://www.camelotcats.com/hippiesew1.jpg

OK, dh says I have to include this. This is me posing in a custom dress I designed and made for a friend. It is WAY too short on me, and I m 20 lbs ligter now, but here it is.

Please don't laugh too hard. Most of my current work is nicer, I swear!!

Since we've been talking about autograph books (well, a little anyway), I thought I'd share mine. I got the 6x8-ish albums that Target had in the $1 bins last month & took out the posts & added ring clips so I could have as many pages as I wanted. Once we get back from our trip I'll add some ribbons & the pics of dds and the characters.
