I'm not done with these, but was impatient to share them. They are for dd8 & dd7 to wear to BBB then MVMCP.

I can't wait to get these finished! Hopefully at least Cinderella will be done tonight. Then I'll just have to finish Belle and both pair of matching jeans!!! My mom is coming over today to teach me buttonholes & zippers 101... should be fun!!!

I LOVE these! Great job! Did you use those pillow form prints of Belle & Cincerella? How did you stitch around them? They are very well done!

Yes, those are the pillow panels. I just used an applique stitch around the edges in coordinating colors. I'm not 100% satisfied with them, but the girls love them and that's what matters. Thank you for your comment! Just don't look too closely!! LOL

Here they are.

CUTE!

It has been a while since I've posted, but I have been faithfully reading all along. My DD8 loved wearing her customs on our September trip. I took a short break from sewing and I'm not getting into making outfits for winter.

I've run into a situation with my sewing that I'm hoping you all will be able to help me with. I have made three pairs of jeans for my DD8. (Her body build makes it difficult to fit her into the slim-fitting, low-riding jeans that are in fashion today.) First of all, I had difficultly finding patterns with loose fitting pants. I ended up using a pattern for capris that worked really well this past summer--I added about 4 inches to the length and they turned out great. My problem is this--they appear too loose fitting in the front. With the capris I made this summer, the fabric was lighter and we didn't notice any loose puckering. However, with the heavier denim, there seems to be some ballooning/puckering at the front seam, down towards the hip area--almost as if they are too long in the stride, but they aren't. (I hope this makes sense.) Can anyone give me advice on how to adjust my pattern to prevent this? I really appreciate any suggestions.

TIA!
Ok I am not an expert but, I didn't see if you had been answered so here is my suggestion. (If I am thinking the right place, it is where it looks like a J on the pattern?) I would try and make a pair with the J not so sharp, does that make sense, make it a little bit flatter, not much just a little bit. Also I would baste things and try them on before you stitch down just to experiment. Also make sure you are making lots of cuts in where the curve is or it won't lay flat, especially denim.
Good luck!

Just wanted to let you all know that I found pettiskirts at Dillard's yesterday for $14.00. They are not nearly as full as the ones shown on here but they will do just fine for my almost 3 year old DD.

Can you post a pic of the Dillard's pettiskirts? $14 is a great price! I may need to head over there!

Does anyone know of any plain t-shirt patterns? Yes I know I am crazy I want to make a tee

Cindee

If anyone is going to Dillard's and will take a paypal instant payment and would consider picking up a couple for me please let me know. I'd be happy to send money, thanks and my first born (but I guess that would mean you'd keep the pettiskirt.)

Do they come in different colors? I would love to have on for DD. Too bad the closest Dillard's is easily 3+ hours from here.

Oh my gosh! I'm just thinking about CASEing a Cinderella outfit similar to that that I saw on :wizard: and can't even come close to affording! The bodice is different (hers uses a whole face as the bodice and I'm not sure I can do that) but I love yours too. Where are you guys getting the pillow panels. I've looked at Wal-Mart and can't find them. Are they with the Disney Fabric usually or somewhere else? I guess I'll have to ask the next time I go. Great Job!

can you show us a pic. would love to see!

I may have confused you ladies with the pettiskirts. It is the slip pettiskirts to go under dresses. It has the camisole attached to them. I will post a pic when I can for those still interested.

Oh these are so cute. Oh good luck with the button holes and zippers i avoid them and cheat. I use sew on snaps and then sew the button over it.

It has 2 layers of the netting material for the skirt. They also had jus the skirt ones and I believe they were probably the same price.
