Stephres,

Did I see somewhere you are going to be at WDW this weekend? We plan to go to EPCOT Monday and probably MK tomorrow. Guess I should get started on DD's outfits huh? LOL

LOVE the matching doll outfits!!!!!!

Cindee

We'll probably be at MK tomorrow and Epcot in the evenings. We will leave Sunday afternoon. I will look out for your beautiful little girl!

which park at WDW is your favorite this time of year???

Mine is MGM.... what is now DHS Disney Hollywood Studios

I just love the Osbourne festival of lights.

Lori

Here are a couple of pictures I took a couple of days ago from my front yard. I wanted blue sky behind the snowy mountain but the clouds wouldn't get out of the way :confused3

And this was my front porch about 30 minutes ago:
DSCN3031.jpg

OMG - those are breathtaking. Where do you live?

Okay, just a few more photos. DD2 got out of the shower this morning and wanted to put on a princess dress. Yes, I have trained her well, I'm so proud! I found her last years Halloween costume and put it on her and she was acting so cute. She was really in character. And her hair is still wet, the vaseline is pretty much washed out now, a week later.

DSCN3030_edited-1.jpg

And I was going to post a photo of the Christmas peasant top I made DD10 (with matching headband) but I took it in the gym at her school and it is awful--very grainy and blurry and yuck. I wanted to go to Costco to buy a new camera today, but the roads are not so good right now.

She looks beautiful.

My dh said- did you buy it with the tree already on it. I said I did it all myself are you impressed and he said it looks pretty good. Which in "man" speak (sorry tom) is a compliment.
The whole applique thing is easier then I thought it would be. The curvy stuff is a little tricky but you just have to go s...l...o...w and it works pretty good. If you haven't you should all give it a try!!

That shirt is very cute.

Okay...here goes. I've been promising to post the outfits that I've been working on. They are almost all completed. Some need buttons and button holes, and the Cinderella dress needs to be hemmed and some sort of closure on the back.
294122242.jpg

294127038.jpg

I just got done with this one this morning. I love black and pink together.
294122261.jpg

This skirt is for Alexis to wear at Disney..I still didn't make her the shirt.
294122279.jpg

294122270.jpg

I've had this fabric forever and don't love it. So this was the best I could come up with.
294122990.jpg

294123002.jpg

This is a dress that I made a few months ago. It needs a hem and a closure on the cape.

Gorgeous. Just Gorgeous.

294124148.jpg

294124144.jpg

294123007.jpg

Okay..I did have better pictures of this dress and can't find them. Anyhow, the fabric is to die for. It's absolutely lovely, and I can't look at it enough. I actually needed a glass of wine to cut it. The dress still needs to be hemmed, but Alexis loves it.The bodice doesn't photograph well, but there is sliver trim across the front like a mock corset, and yes, I actually hand stitched all of the silver cording on the bodice and sleeves. Also the dress is just basted to the bodice, so I have to still stitch it down and topstitch around the waist. I think it will make the skirt lay flatter.
I hope you all like the pictures. Oh yeah. The grand total for the dress....a whopping $30. Cool huh?

Beautiful. She sure does look just like a princess in that picture. princess:

Here is the finished nemo. I wanted to put the fin lines on the nemo, but hubby said no. He all of a sudden feels the need to say what the design needs. So it would take a few seconds to do. hmmm will have to look at it for a bit, but I think the outfit is cute and simple and perfect for the nemo ride at DL.

I think it's perfect.

Lori

I'm sad to say I have never been in WDW during the holidays. But in 2009 we will be.

Ok, I'm just taking a mo to decompress here :surfweb: & I must say all these snowy Utah pictures have me seriously missing the Colorado Rockies! :sad1:

Yep, I'm a fair weather girl now & it's a balmy 78 degrees here in Texas!:cool2: Gotta love it when you can still wear capri's & Tees in December! I haven't had to buy a winter/ski coat in 7-8 years!:woohoo:

Keep posting the wintery views tho, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!:goodvibes

Ps-my Holiday internal mantra lately is ("Next year we're doing Disney for Christmas, next year we're doing Disney for Christmas-I will do Disney or die!":dance3: ...no more cooking, no more cleaning, no more griping & exhaustion!:sad2: I've had it with the Holidays, but I love it too!;) )

It would take me forever to try to catch up.... I just want to say that I love all of the pics this week:

Love the Build A Bear dress....Happy Birthday Tessa!!!

Love the mountain pics too....I am a mountain girl stuck living by the ocean!

Love all the customs and snow pics too....:santa:

Have fun in Disney if you are going....can't wait to see your pics! :yay:

I gotta get some sleep just to function.....today was my last day of work till Jan 2nd!!! :woohoo: Anyone else exhausted???

Perhaps tomorrow I will get a chance to load up my pics and show you the girls outfits?? :confused3 Besides cook and clean and wrap and my SIL is coming for the week...ahhhhhhhhhh

And to the poor gal who is getting a sewing machine and company similtaneously .... pirate: sorry about the whole thing....maybe you can entertain while cutting and sewing fabric???? No??? :rotfl:

Castle- Ohhhh! You did it again! I love the princess! I love that it's "modest" (we're big on modest in Utah).

Jhammie- ya been out playing in the snow yet? Dandy of a storm last night! I took progressive pictures from the clouds rolling in, to the hail, to the "after". My boys found an incline on our property and deemed it sledable so they've been occupied allllll day!

Can't wait to do Hannah Montana!!! I think our Utah Meet is canceled for tomorrow...Karebear's family has her busy. :guilty: I think it's postponed though :thumbsup2

twob4Him- What a joy to have family come for a week ;). Sleep is for wussies. I just had to start Ambien just to get a decent sleep. If not, my mind is going a mile a minute as to what I need to be doing.

Everyone- This is totally off topic, but I posted a Politically Correct Christmas Poem on the Community Board as a protest on "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" and it started out BAAAAAD...like I was going to get flamed (I KNOW!). But then a Christmas miracle happened and people started just posting "Merry Christmas". Made me feel all fuzzy wuzzy :goodvibes

Wow lots of cute photos today!

Happy Birthday to Tessa! I love the Build a Bear dress. The cake is adorable too!

I don't want to leave anyone out. twocutekids, your stuff is adorable. Great gifts!

Castle, I love your work everything is wonderful.

I love the Nemo outfit. Looks comfy!

Stephres, great photos, good job on the pleats! Have fun in WDW and post pictures when you get back! Is the new Doll going?

I was working on an outfit for DD's new American Girl Doll and she saw it! :scared1: Ooops, She figured it out quite easily and wanted to know where the doll was. :rolleyes1 She tried to guess where she was hidden but couldn't so she dropped the subject.

I finished the outfit and DD's matching outfit.
I am working on more Tie Fleece Blankets. THis time I will take photos! I have one for the neighbors, and I need to make one for my niece. I also am making a pillow for my Sister's Stepdaughter out of UGA Fleece. Then I hope to have time to make a nightgown for DD and her new doll. We'll See. . .

Can't wait to see the Naked Mole Rat. . .

Oh I almost forgot, I love the snow pictures and the mountains! UTAH is BEAUTIFUL! It is cold and rainy here in Georgia and we are Thankful for the rain. It just isn't very pretty. Merry Christmas to everyone! It is getting close and I imagine everyone is going to be very busy.

Yay! My 3 big kids played in the snow all day long! We have a mini sledding hill within walking distance of our house, but while babins napped, the other three went outside. They came in and asked me to come take pictures of their snow fort. I went outside and they had built a massive snow cave! Big enough for one or two of them to fit inside. I was so impressed. They are still working on hollowing it out, but it is pretty cool. Can't wait for the Hannah Movie also! I was watching Disney Channel the other day and found out they filmed the 3-D movie at the Salt Lake City concert, so it really will be like we were there!

Okay, now as I was threading elastic into peasant tops, I was looking at photos and have to share some with you.

This is why I love living in Utah!

This is the trailhead to Sand Dune Arch (we call it Sandy Arch) in Arches Ntl. Park, one of my favorite places on the planet!

DH and DSs hiking to Landscape Arch, also in Arches

DSCN1970.jpg

DS and Dnephew in Goblin Valley State Park. There is a whole valley filled with these rock formations. We played sardines there with 20 people until it got too dark. It is way cool.

DSCN1844.jpg

And from the desert, we go to the High Uintas in the Rocky Mountains--this is DS5 camping/fishing at Mirror Lake

DSCN2356.jpg

Okay, one more, I could be off topic all day, but I'll spare you. This is DH and the oldest 3 kids at Silver Lake by Brighton ski resort--just a short drive up the canyon from my house.

SO COME VISIT!!!

Nice work everyone. I've bee enjoying all your creations. Sadly, though, I haven't has anytime to make any of my own. We've just been too busy around here, and I've been trying to get my miles in since Marathon Weekend is almost here. It takes me awhile to get my miles in, too, since I'm so slow. :lmao:

I've never been to arches  but I have been to Mirror Lake and that very same wooden path near Brighton (pronounced "Bri-In"). I've only been to the Great Salt Lake a few times yet I live RIGHT near there. I smell it more often.

I also love the climate here in Utah. Very dry but fabulous seasonal changes.

Don't we just sound like a Travel Report?

Don't you love how easy fleece tied blankets are?

Love it all Nancy!

The Doll clothes come together really quick. They are so little!
I think I may try to make the doll some Minnie Dot pants!

Thank you! I love how easy the blankets are and how warm they are! I made a Mickey one to put on our couch and now DH won't take it off. He keeps it over his shoulders while he :surfweb:

Now I have to find some pretty fleece and make one for myself.:rotfl:

Great job! I really need to finish up my Christmas presents. I have a fleece tie blanket for DS5 I need to finish. I got sick of tying :rotfl: I also have half of a blanket binding sewn around DS8s yoda fleece blanket. It was not turning out well so I just stopped halfway through. I think I'll just get back to work on the doll clothes.

Happy Birthday to Tessa! I love the Build a Bear dress. The cake is adorable too!

I'm thinking I need to come to Utah!! It looks gorgeous!!

I love what you did with the Scottie dog fabric! The fabric you used for the dog applique is perfect!! Everything is wonderful!

YES the Dress, Well that dress is totally FABULOUS!!!!! You must have spent hours and hours with all the layers and ribbons and gathering..... So beautiful- Your dd and the dress.
;) thanks! Lydia was pretty proud of the dress, it made me feel good! She wore it to a party we went to today, and everyone loved it there too. It's so fun to tell someone, "I made it." It's also fun to hear your Mom bragging to people that you made it too! Mom saw someone we knew that was working where we had the party, so she had to rush Lydia off to show her off. This lady sews (she altered Heather's wedding dress) so it was a huge compliment that she liked Lyddy's dress!
Gotta tell you TJ I have two great aunts who do not celebrate christmas and birthdays and one year I forgot and sent them christmas cards- They reported to my grandma who kindly told/reminded me that they appreciate the pictures but that I should make sure to take them off the list for next year. OOPS, they are both great ladies and I'm sure they weren't angry at me or anything- I just plain forgot and I almost did it again this year- I caught myself as I was addressing the envelope.
That's funny. Are they Jehovah's Witnesses too? Brian hasn't got many Christmas cards this year, but I got my very first! :rotfl: A guy I went to school with sent me one this year. We had our class reunion so he had my address. I was touched that he had thought of me. (Don't worry, there was nothing even slightly romantic going on with this guy sending me a card. He has a husband.) I'm sure your Great Aunts felt the same way. When I married Brian it took me YEARS to convince his family to NOT give me Christmas presents! I don't know how many times I had to tell them!

Ok, this is the last one. I am packing up my sewing machine until after Christmas. I'll try to check in at lunch time and say good bye.

This jumper was so easy! And I learned to make pleats; I don't think you can see them because the fabric is so busy. I will definitely use this pattern again, I was really pleased and how fast I could finish this. Also, I am think I am getting better with the zipper.

th_100_2076.jpg

As you can see, it's no longer cold here. I hope we can still wear the mickey santa hat shirts I made. Maybe we will just be hot: suffer for fashion!

Cute Steph!!! Have lots of fun at Disney!!!

Looks great! Have a fun trip!
You finished?!?! I can only hope to finish! I still have at least one more top and doll outfit and finishing a couple of blankets and...and...I will never finish. Now I just found out we are having surprise/uninvited company staying at our house the week after Christmas, which means no craft room, which means no sewing even though my trip is in January, which means no playing with my Christmas present/new sewing machine, which means cooking and cleaning for 3-5 additional people. I normally love company, but this means I don't know how I will ever finish my customs for my trip!!!! UGH!!!

I am not a company kind of girl, so that would be ABSOLUTE TORTURE for me! I hope it all goes well though, and you can get back to sewing very soon!

Here are a couple of pictures I took a couple of days ago from my front yard. I wanted blue sky behind the snowy mountain but the clouds wouldn't get out of the way :confused3

Lydia was sitting on my lap as I looked at these, and we both went, "OH WOW!" She keeps repeating it in a very reverent type whisper! And, it has taken me a long time to post, because she kept wanting me to go back to the "beautiful mountain pictures". She also wants to know how you got a mountain in your front yard!

OK I got my camera out and took pictures (instead of wrapping) Here are my Custom Christmas Presents!!

Nightgown set for DD - and yes, Jess's nightgown is sideways :headache:
th_IMG_2789.jpg

WHEW!! Now I get to start wrapping!!

WOWZA!!! That is AWESOME!!! You are something else sewing all those gorgeous outfits!

Okay, just a few more photos. DD2 got out of the shower this morning and wanted to put on a princess dress. Yes, I have trained her well, I'm so proud! I found her last years Halloween costume and put it on her and she was acting so cute. She was really in character. Do they come much cuter than that?? I don't think so! She is such a cutie!

Hi guys, I haven't been on in about a week. My new job has been a little crazy and of course all of the Christmas things going on it has been pretty crazy!

That said my DH and I made a new build a bear for each of the kids and I was wondering if anyone has a pattern for pants or a shirt that they wouldn't mind sharing. I know I can look at some of their other BABW clothes and draw out a pattern when I get off work but I really was hoping to skip that step because I have way too many gifts to craft this weekend! TIA and I can't wait to catch up with the thread, I have missed you all!!!
Nice to see you around again!
FABULOUS!!! Wow wow wow!!! I love these outfits!!! Your daughters are so beautiful!

Did you know that your nephew, Steven, was a ballerina for Halloween when he was 5 because it's the only costume they had? True story (Tim and Liz told me).
Oh my goodness. That just explains so much.

(just kidding ;) )
Nice work everyone. I've bee enjoying all your creations. Sadly, though, I haven't has anytime to make any of my own. We've just been too busy around here, and I've been trying to get my miles in since Marathon Weekend is almost here. It takes me awhile to get my miles in, too, since I'm so slow. :lmao:

Love the Build A Bear dress....Happy Birthday Tessa!!!

Happy Birthday to Tessa! I love the Build a Bear dress. The cake is adorable too!
Hold that thought for another three months ladies! It was MY baby's birthday! Tessa was born exactly three months AFTER Lydia, in March. I made Lydia the dress, Aunt HeatherSue made her the cake.

Sorry to confuse everyone! Heather posted the party pictures, because I don't celebrate birthdays (my husband does though). I didn't feel right posting pictures of a birthday party, so Heather did it. The idea for the dress struck me about the same time Brian (dh)decided on having Lydia's party at Build A Bear. I saw one that Tom had made his daughter with a panel type fabric, and I thought it was a good idea for this fabric. It just worked out that Lydia would wear the dress I made her to her party. I was a little suprised, because generally she thinks she has to wear a red dress to any birthday party! It comes from one of those KidSongs videos, "Sally wears a red dress red dress red dress, Sally wears a red dress all day long."

Now wait just a minute!!! My baby girl is still only 4 years old. Lydia is the one that had the birthday! Although, I have to agree that Teresa did a fantastic job on her Build A Bear dress!

Thanks Heather, and I think the cake you made was gorgeous too!
