Ok my pic finally downloaded! Here are my girls in the matching stripwork dresses I made them! This is also the pic I used for our christmas cards:

TOOO sweet. I love sisters. I think Little needs one.;)

Just for you guys! I needed to try the jeans on DS to see if they will fit his cousin (they are just about the same size) Sooo, I snapped a picture - just for you. Poor kid!

He's going to hate these pictures some day!!

Well, now you know how cute it is (or didn't we tell you enough!!) and you have a great blackmail picture.

I agree that the doll clothes are super easy. There are some reasons for that:

1) No serging/finishing of seams. I figure since they are not going to get washed a whole lot, pinking shears for the seams are fine.
2) There are not a lot of pieces. They are made for little hands to get on and off so they are simple.
3) Velcro! The first thing I made called for snaps, which were a pain to sew on. My mother suggested velcro and I found some that irons on and it is so much easier. The peasant blouse I made is open in the back, iron the raw edge and then iron on velcro and you're done!

Go ahead and try! We are all here to help!

Of course now I feel like a completely deficient mom and MUST make at least one matching doll outfit for littles new doll....Can I just send you the fabric?:rotfl:

I can't help but wanted you to know that the other day Lily was unsupervised in the tub (I KNOW!!!!:rolleyes1 ) for a brief moment and I didn't realize the while I'd cleared the kids soap and shampoo off the edge there was a bottle of my body wash(the kind w/ little scrubby beads in it) hiding behing the curtain. Little emptied the bottle ON HER HEAD.:scared1: When I came back she was "washing" her hair. It was so thick w/ soap that her dad had to hold her while I rinsed it. the tub water was so soapy that I had to get clean water from the faucet and it too FOREVER!!!!But she was very clean when we were done.

Little had breakfast w/ Santa today and she LOVED him:love: My mom said she kept going to get on his lap again. She did get to wear a new stripwork top that I made her from a FQ bundle I got on sale at Joanns. I have pics but gotta get em uploaded. I'll try to get them up today.
Now I just gotta finish her Christmas dress and get the card pics done...

I willbe leaving for WDW tomorrow and then off to California - so the Photobucket account will be out of date for the next four weeks. We will be doing one day of travel, ten days in WDW, then head to California to visit family. We won't be back to Alaska until early January. At that point it will take me a few days (or more :scared1: ) to catch back up. Everything up to this point will be in there.

Thanks guys!! I'm off to finishing packing!!

DS did that when he was her age and I was able to get the vaseline out in a couple of days. I have washed her hair 6 or 7 times and tried all sorts of stuff--dish soap, my good shampoo that really cleans well, corn starch, baking soda and her hair still looks and feels horrible! She has curly hair and it's not even curly now. I tried smoothing it back into a pony tail today but the elastics keep sliding out :sad2: It looks wet and greasy and yuck and I can barely get a comb through it. Any advice out there? Especially you hair experts? (That means you Wendy).

No tips, other then to do an internet search. But I wanted to tell you to feel lucky! When my sister was little, she washed her hair with NAIR!! :rotfl: My Mother called poisin control becuase she was worried about the product around Renee's face. She said they laughed so hard they couldn't talk. She had a bald spot in the back of her head for months. She's a blond and when it grew back in, the hair in the bald spot came in light brown.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Yaaaa Amy I hope you have a wonderful trip and enjoy the nice warm Florida weather for a while. Thanks so much for your photobucket work. It is quite a job. I would be willing to help out a bit if you want...especially after next Friday when I am off from work....let me know. Happy travels!!!! :santa:

My first instinct would be Dawn dishwashing detergent - because it cuts grease. You certainly would need to make sure it doesn't get in her eyes, and it probably isn't good for her hair, but it may get the vaseline out. I don't know.

Ahhh yes its virtually impossible to get Vaseline out. I used to use it if the baby started getting cradle cap. I dont know which was worse.
One time I use a hair-jell that wasnt water soluble  so here is the long and short of it. Take her to a salon. They have special shampoo which cuts through anything. Thats what I did. They got it out in one washing :flower3:

Yeah, I think it's zoe_diva_designs.

Are we allowed to say that? It's in her ID, it's just not right here??? It's so hard to tell.

Okay, so forget about valentines outfits (which I SWEAR I'll get done ahead of time!!) I have been researching for Halloween and can't seem to stop. I think we are giong to be Mary and Bert and the kids from Mary Poppins. I think my MIL and FIL and B and I can be different versions of Mary and Bert and the kids can pick which outfits they want to wear. Although I like the regular Mary outfit and the white one from the jolly holiday sequence, so I don't know whichone I'd prefer. MAYBE just maybe this year I won't have to be sewing feverishly the week of MNSSHP. :hourglass

So we'll have been home a week tomorrow and I'm just now getting around to pictures... I've been busy dealing with a very very defiant 3 1/2 year old. I'm almost at a loss figuring out what to do with her, you'd have thought that Santa talking to her would have gotten her attention but apparently not.

I'm trying the Elf on the Shelf deal now so we'll see. Delaney wasn't too keen on the idea of having a spy in the house that reports to Santa. She's very unsure of it.

I'm working on the house to make it less chaotic. That's part of the problem. We're trying to cut back on the amount of stuff around here, there's too much of it, so we'll see if this weekend and the coming week don't help that out some.

I've got a couple of Christmas outfits to sew between now and Thursday when DD has her holiday party at preschool. I'd like to get both done by Christmas so she can wear one on Christmas Day.

I'm almost done with the holiday shopping. I did most of it today just have to get a couple of last minute things and bake some goodies for Thursday and Friday for our friends and DD's teachers.

I love the doll tights! I'll have to remember that for when DD gets an American Girl doll but since she's so rough on things I'll be waiting a few years, although she may get a Bitty Baby next year.

I've started planning our trip in June for Delaney's birthday. We hit the 180 mark while we were on vacation last week so she's all schedule for BBB and birthday dinner at 1900 Park Fair. I didn't realize that CRT was Fairy Godmother only for dinner so I booked 1900 instead. I hope DD likes it. We'll probably do Akerhaus again too. She really LOVES it there. This time we saw Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine and Belle. Delaney was in heaven.

We're haggling over hotels right now, as much as I'd like to stay at AKL I'm not sure I like the price tag that goes along with it, maybe we'll split the visit at two hotels, although that sounds like a lot of work to pack and unpack twice.

GREAT pics! It looks like you guys had a FANTASTIC time! Love all of her outfits, she is soooo cute!

mommyof3princesses,
I live in Riverside in southern cali. So do I! I won't be at Disneyland when you go but hope you have a great time. Ride POTC and It's a small world for me. It's been 3 years since my last trip and I am going thru withdraws.

WOW!!! Home for a week and already with the pictures. That sure is nice. Thanks for keeping us up to date. Wish someone else would post their WDW pics....:confused3

Thanks everyone for all your help and advice! I have tried everything. I'm thinking only time will fix this one! And yes, it is kind of funny, it will be more so when it is over. When DS did this about 6 years ago I took photos and scrapbooked it. Now I get a good laugh over those scrapbook pages. If I lived only 3 hours from Chicago I'd be there in a heartbeat! When DD turned 9 I took her to Chicago for a weekend just to go to the American Girl store. We had lunch in the cafe and went to the play they put on there and had her photo taken in the photo studio. It was the best time. A girls weekend neither one of us will forget! I wanna go again!

I think it's time we went!

Hey TJ - are you snowed in yet?!

Not yet, but it's starting to pile up! Brian got home an hour ago, and I don't see his footbprints anymore, and the roads are SLICK!!! People are actually driving SLOW! How is it over your way?

Heather just landed at Ohare. She is staying the night at a hotel there. I'm hoping she gets home ok!
