Hey everyone!!! I'm glad to hear that you're ok too, t!

We've been super busy around here with Christmas stuff, and we're getting ready to head to WDW on Tuesday afternoon after Madison's Christmas ballet show at school. And, of course, I'm just starting on a really cute cheetah santa dress for the girls, since we'll be staying at the AK Villas. I thought that it would fit great, but I'm going to be up ALL night on this one, and I still need to pack everything else up, AND go to work tomorrow.

It's gonna be a LONG night!!! Oh, and I'll have to post some pictures of the newest Nana creation. She just sent it to the girls last week. They are adorable jumper dresses with this fabric that is "sandmen" on the beach, instead of "snowmen". It is just too, too cute!!!

My new job is exactly 3 miles from home and I am thinking about walking to and from work. Reduce my carbon foot print and maybe my waistline a bit. I just hate the thought of adding 2 hours of travel to my work day. We'll see.

Could you ride your bike? That wouldn't take as long, and you would still be getting exercise and reducing your carbon foot print. But, do me a favor and wear your helmet if you do! ;)

Okay, off topic, but not apologizing, since there isn't much talk going on and my best friend and I are so curious now,

Do you guys include a little letter about the family in the christmas cards?

I used to LOVE reading the ones we got when I was kid, still would, just don't get any. But I was at the library the other day and I was signing my cards (storytime but the kids were watching a movie after) and I was talking to the lady next to me, I mentioned how I couldn't even think to write a little note. Kids eating cookies and drinking juice, other moms talking and teens from middle school behind came to sing and were eating and talking too. But she said to me, I hate getting letters anyways, who has time to read them.

So, I almost didn't send the ones I had planned. Now Dallas is 4, doesn't go to preschool or anyhing so my letters aren't like a let's brag about what he does. He doesn't do anything! What is your honest opinon about them? Do you like them? Do you send them?

Nope! You guys don't bore me at all! My dirty little secret is that I nap every day when Dallas does BUT I thought I would stay up and finish his outfit. I am so used to doing it that I can barely make it through a day I don't nap!

No bike riding for me, it would be almost all highway and I don't even like to ride on busy neighborhood streets. I'm a big chicken.

I bet Steph is alright. I think the tornado hit East of her. It did take out a minimum security jail. They had temporary buildings set up and it took them all down. Displacing about 200 inmates (they were able to get them evacuated into the permanent building before it hit) that will have to be dispersed throughout the state until they figure something out. CRAZY!!

OH have fun at WDW Ali, I'm so jealous!!! I miss WDW.

Hi Guys!!!!!

I'm just finishing up my Disney Quilt top!!!!! I cut each square exactly 6 inches and used the exact same seam allowance yet my square corners don't always match up exactly... I was SO careful too. It's because I'm often using different fabrics like reinforced knit, flannel and some heavy jeans-type fabric in the case of the Winnie the Pooh. SO, luckily I'm going to tie the corners with yarn knots so no harm done.

It's SOOOOO cool! I am at the stage when I'm trying to decide what backing I'm going to use and boarders and yarn color. When I lay it all out, I see the purple and teal and lime a lot. I'm kind of anxious to get it done! I'll try to get Misty to post a pic for me....:flower3: She gave me a TON of fabric squares last night when she came over as I had just squares lined up on the living room floor. She made it much bigger    YAY!

Clutterbug- CUTE photos!!!! Thanks for sharing them!

Everyone- Thanks SO much for sending all the squares! I'm thrilled at how many cool and unique ones I received!!!!! I'm overwelmed at everyones' generosity!!!!!!!

Argh! I need white fur! I have red fur, blue, fur, green fur and yellow fur! Why don't they make a white sesame street character!!!! I have actually known I needed it for a while but never near a store that carries any! Guess I'll skip it!

ok, so I was not as productive as I would have liked this weekend. But the house is super clean, so I guess that is something!
Here is the girls new years outfit. that material was not cheap, but it was the nicest looking one that was silver/grey. I made the girls both the same and they will put turtlenecks on underneath. it will be cold at midnight! oh should have ironed this before I tool pics, but it will get all wrinkled in the suitcase anyways!
And nicholas has a pair of pants and 2 sweatshirts he can put over his outfits when it gets cold at night. have to get some more outfits completed. I have a pair of overalls that I am not sure what theme to do... Thought of something nemo.

Can I just say that I love my musically eared and tech minded hubby!!! His mixed Christmas CD's are the only thing that get me through the marathon cookie baking we do every year. I just listened to...1. Ave Maria-Chris Cornell 2. Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree-Brenda Lee (I LOVE HER!!!) 3. Oi To the World- No Doubt 4. BBBBBlue Christmas-Porky Pig 5. Santa Baby-Madonna 6.The Hanukka Song-Adam Sandler and Run Rudolph Run- Bruce Springsteen. That was only the beginning of the crazy 3 disk Christmas compilation. It's so great cause it's old songs new songs, new songs, old songs sung by new people... Traditional songs and FUNNY songs. It is just a really great mix and we don't have to listen to the songs the radio stations play OVER and OVER.
Somewhere on here is Cartman from South Park being poked by a cattle prod as he sings Silent Night, Which is funnier than it sounds...

YOWZA!!! I didn't even know that. Can you believe that I slept through the entire storm here last night. But, I did wake up early this morning for church and there were palm branches everywhere. So, no tornado here in my specific area, but it was mighty windy!!!

I hope everyone else is OK!!!!

How did ya'll sleep through that? When I was up at 4:00 in the morning the weather said the worst of it was headed north of us so I was worried about T. Glad everyone made it through ok. I was up all night long listening to the storm and then of course I had little visitors who needed comforting. Then the kids and I tried out a new church, went to a birthday party and decorated the tree. I am truly exhausted. And I (stupidly) told Megan I would finish her Ariel fleece jacket for school tomorrow.

I have some white fur I used for my mickey santa hat shirts. PM me if you want it.

I'll catch up reading tomorrow. I have got to get the kids to bed and finish that jacket. Hope everyone has a great night!

We actually do send a Christmas letter each year. It started only after we had Emily and our lives got a little busier. We have lots of friends & family that we don't get to talk to on a regular basis, and they like to know what we've been up to throughout the year. It didn't start out very long, because we weren't doing a lot. But now, it is getting quite full of the "stuff" that we've done, and I only go over the major highlights. Also, my family got a kick out of our first letter, because I wrote it from the perspective of our "newest" member of the family, Emily. So, each year it's been different.

Oh, and I do love getting Christmas letters from friends & family!! It gives me a little insight into what they're busy life is up to too!!!

Both sets are very cute, but I love the New Years set. the material was worth every penny! Did you make or buy the tee?

And I haven't even had time to mail mine yet! I have some cute Star Wars flannel & was saving just for you.

Lori, the New years eve outfit is cute. I would just like to get through Christmas. I am making a layered tulle skirt for Christmas. I love that style. I am making a peasant top and a corset w/ it. Well, my MIL is making the peasant top to help out, I don't think it's cheating...I have a lot to do....

We are getting our tree tomorrow night (I think) I start my new job tomorrow, tonight I hope to finish a couple of sets of fur cuffs and I still have to sew together the kids PJ pants and Put the ribbon binding on Littles fleece blanket. I haven't even got over to Joanns to get Brothers Yoda flannel and fleece. Sheesh, you'd think Christmas was still a month away.

It's NOT!!!!

Thanks for the offer. I already got the shirt done. Just finished it up. BTW, the santa shirt was so cute! I meant to look the other day but just looked and that white fur is exactly what I needed!

That makes me feel so much better! I just love getting them and reading them.

Well, about 3 weeks ago our target had short sleeve but nothing yesterday except a couple of brown (in the boys), the toddler section had all striped, girls and boys. Although if you can find long sleeve you can probably cut off and hem, I couldn't even find just plain white. Been to every store on this half the state!

I'm sorry that I didn't see this sooner. My special needs dd has had some health complications this week so I haven't been able to be on.

The stitch for stretch fabrics is 5. The manual says to use the "J" foot, select stitch 5, and "sew the fabric without stretching it." Hopefully, someone else was able to answer before me.

Please don't apologize. I just hope your DD is doing well. Thank you so much for the instructions. I have still not received the english instruction book yet. I am thinking it may be faster to learn spanish :rotfl: I am going to try to get the dress finished tonight. I have the skirt ready to attach so it should fo pretty fast.

I have not had time to start any new projects. I keep buying the stuff for them though :) I have good intentions, but I keep getting side tracked. It is like my scrapbooking stuff. I have everything under the sun to create beautiful scrapbooks, but no completed books. I call myself as scrapbook accessory collector

Anyway- back on topic... I am almost finished with Katie’s Christmas dress. I am hopefully going to get a pair of decoupage overalls done. Then last night I went to Joanne’s alone (I buy less when I take the kids) and got Hannah Montana flannel to make pj pants for DD Leanne and princess flannel to make a pink princess dress for Katie. I also got a blanket kit to make for Katie (possibly for her Birthday) it has princess fabric with all different coordinating fabrics. It is very cute. Has anyone ever made one? It is called a cuddle quilt kit. I will post pics when I get it done. It looks very simple. I was going to cut it out last night and I can not find the mat to my rotary cutter :confused3 I do not know how it is possible to lose something like that?

Hi Everyone...well I finally graduated from school. I'm thrilled. Now I have to find a real job...LOL... I have been sewing my fingers to the bone. I made Alexis a dress with way too many pink ruffles, and I made a gorgeous blue Cinderella dress for her to wear on her 5th birthday vacation. I have pictures of Ireland in it, but it wasn't finished yet. I will post pictures tomorrow or Tuesday. The Cinderella dress still has to be hemmed, and buttons put on the back, but I spent a fortune on the fabric and I love how it came out.
I hope everyone is making it through the storms. We had 70 mile per hour wind here and lost a few pine trees, but thankfully no one was injured and no major property damage..I love all of the vacation pictures...especially DumDum....too cute
