You calling him angel dog is making me almost spit diet coke all over! I told the kids many times he is so lucky he is cute!
oh don't get me wrong i have one of those "angel" dogs too:goodvibes

Well - I said I would never get a dog - too much expense and care - but I have learned now to never say never! Here is our new addition!

oh how cute what is the lil pup's name is it a girl or boy?

I think I'm finished with eeeekbay... My Webkinz outfit was pulled today for copyright infringement...(did I spell it right)...oh well. I guess Ireland will have to wear it...:rotfl: no loss.
I have been working on a tutu skirt for Alexis to wear for her birthday. I would like to post a photo, but I want to wait until it's completely done.
I only have 2 more days of nursing school!!!!!1:rotfl: cheer for me!!!!
I can't believe I'm done. Only one more day, and one day of finals...:rotfl:
Yea for me!!!
Does anyone need any free surgery or anything...I do need my practice..you know?
what !!!!! that is horrible sorry about your experience on EEK * but on the other thought CONGRATULATIONS! on finishing Nursing school my neighbor is also finished and i feel like i have been kinda going with her (i helped her with her venting and stress relief.. as well as alot of support she really was hesitant about it)
i need a tummy tuck from my 4 c-sections

I found some Converse High tops at Rack Room Shoes they had pink and black.

I also saw the cutest little shoes that were printed with the phrase materiel (not the faces) of the friends around the world fabric. The fabric I used for the Mickey Head on these overalls. They were made by a company called Xappeal
th_IMG_4927.jpg

If we had a trip planned I would have picked up a pair. I did get a pair of the black high tops.

Edited to add, forget about the overalls I found a picture of them on the shoe store website
th_aroundtheworldshoe.jpg

Aren't they adorable!~
cute

OK, I ask this of my closest girl friends (and Tom).

My DD goes to a public school with uniforms. I was told when I enrolled her, that in the classroom they can ONLY wear uniform pieces. Outside (recess) they could wear regular coats. "Uniform" jackets are available for order from and outside vendor. I did not order a $60.00 coat from the vendor as I understood she could wear her regular coat for recess. She has been wearing a fleece jacket to school on the few chilly days we have had and nothing was said.

Today the temps were in the 50-60's. I sent DD to school in her short sleeve uniform polo, uniform sweater, and her fleece jacket. She came home and told me she did not wear either the jacket or sweater to recess. I asked her why. She told me the principal had made an announcement yesterday that if the children went outside without the Uniform coats they would be sent to the principals office! Soooo I called the school. I spoke with the secretary, who had to put me on hold, because she was not sure of the policy! It seems the school "rule" is a child can wear a regular jacket to school. But they must take it off in the classroom (which I completely understand), but if the class goes out for recess-the child is not allowed to wear their coat if it is not from the vendor(Even if I ordered a coat now, it would not be here for several weeks). Am I the only one who find this unreasonable? When I worked in the school district we encouraged the children to wear a coat. :confused3
I would think that the school would want the children in school and not home sick from not wearing a coat!
that is insane .. sorry hope you get things worked out soon

Snow day today, so I had my princess home all day with me.

I did manage to make a top though.

What do you think?

I know all you Eye Spyers are looking at my thread stash aren't you?;)
wow you do amazing work i am gonna have to add this to my case file

An outfit that shoud have been finished before Thanksgiving just got finished last night. It didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted but oh well. I wanted & tried to applique 2 crossing candy canes on the bodice but after 4 botched up bodices -- I gave up. And yes, I really went through 4 of them! I could just never get them to overcome the really unprofessional look they had going for them. I looked & looked for a ready made candy cane applique but one could not be found. Oh well! Here's the outfit.

Parker hasn't quite managed the JoJo pose yet but she did throw her hand behind her head and bend one leg like she was really modeling.

th_DisChristmas1.jpg

And, here is the twirl factor.

th_DisChristmas2.jpg

I couldn't get a good picture of the white fabric but it has little candy canes on it with 3 little green polka dots clumped together all over it.
how cute that is a case outfit also

Drumroll please...

Sorry I was making such a fuss about this, I am just really a) happy to be done before Saturday and, b) proud because it was hard! The outside was velvet and really hard to iron and the inside was slippery and hard to work with. The whole thing was a pain and I was worried that it would look crappy and I would hate it. And I used a size 5 but lengthened the skirt and sleeves to a size 7. Sorry for rambling!
you did a great job

Here's the last of the outfits I had to finish before our trip. I made sweatshirts for each of the kids so they can still match when it gets cooler. It is fleece and super soft. I just love the material. Here is ds5 demonstrating it:

th_CIMG0196.jpg

then I had some fabric left over and decided to make pajama bottoms for ds1. Well I cut it out sewed it, etc. It wasn't until I put them on him that I realized the mickey's were all upside down :headache: :rotfl2: . Oh well.

th_CIMG0200.jpg
that is so your lil guy can look at his fav character i agree with everyone on that thought also

Hi girls! I know it's been awhile since I've checked in, but I have been reading everything you girls have been doing. Steph, I love that Christmas/Holiday dress. Very beautiful! Oh my goodness, Utahmama!!! I can't believe that!!!

I just wanted to share with you what I made for Courtney to wear to Disney in about a week and a half!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!! :santa:
that is cute

just wanted to say i've been lurking for a while now and i FINALLY finished this thread WHEW!! I'm so addicted...I don't do any sewing (yet...haha;) ) but grew up in a house where sewing was a part of my life. My mom is a sewer and I'm constantly bugging her for this or that..she's made my dd's halloween costumes and baby clothes. Not to mention countless bedroom sets, diaper bags, birthday dresses...you name it she's done it. So when I tell her I want to learn she'll probably fall out of her sewing chair! Anyway, KUDOS to all you talented designers...
welcome ! to the sew anything gang :goodvibes

We are off to our Model -T club's annual Christmas dinner. This is what DD is wearing. It didn't turn out quite like I had planned, but it's ok. DD loves it though.

okay i have been MIA because Mayson is sick and he is that kid that clings to you and you can't do anything,:sad1: i thought he was getting better:woohoo: so my DH puts him in his bed and the next thing (Camden is running up the stairs) screaming Mayson is throwing up in his bed :scared1: i get down there and he is just laying in it:eek: poor guy ! he goes back to the pediatrician tommorow, he is in heaven a lil bit because he has had 2 baths in one day... i am hoping to get something done tomorrow at least :confused3

Uggh! Don't you hate that!vWhich doll is M getting?

I noticed she was smiling different lately. Kids are funny! She is still too adorable though! Heather went through a phase like that, byt she was 16!

I settled on Nellie, a period doll from 1906. She comes with a blue dress, bloomers, white tights and black mary janes.

The smiling thing is driving me crazy! I am trying not to let her know how irritated I am, because then she will never stop it.

Do you want to hear a really gross story?? Too bad, I'm going to tell you anyway!

Yesterday, our cat caught a mouse. Well, he was playing with it. I thought Corey got him outside with it. I don't like mice, I tried not to pay too much attention.

This morning, I pick up Arminda's gloves, they had fallen on the floor. One was kind or wrkinkled up. The bus was about to come, so I handed them to Arminda real quick. The bus came and she ran out the door without putting on the gloves.

When she was getting ready to go out for recess, she put on the gloves, and.....felt something squishy inside! :scared1: OH MY GOSH! The mouse was in there, dead! :scared1: I feel SOOOO horrible for her! She shook it out in a frenzy and some other kids saw it and gathered around to see. She says she has never been so humiliated in her entire life! (Although, truth be told, she looked like she thought it was just a little funny)

I asked her what she wore out to recess. She wore the gloves! EEEWWWW!!! It was really really cold out today though, so I guess she didn't have much choice.

:scared1: I'm washing them in hot water right now. :scared1: If that had been me, I would have been so mortified, I would have tried to come home sick!

Nothing expresses a mother's love like handing your child a glove with a dead rodent in it! :rotfl2: Poor Arminda! Now when they have the "my mom is so mean" conversations, she will just say, "dead mouse" and everyone will shut up!

Poor Mayson and poor mom! I hate when they are too little to know how to get to bathroom to throw up: they are so pitiful! Hope he feels better today!

Tom - I have a question for you.... I loved the Mrs. Potato Head dress you made for your little princess, and was able to get my hands on one of those t-shirts. I'm not ready to sew anything yet, but was looking at the t-shirt and wondered how you cut out the design and applied it to her dress. Did you sew over the stitching lines on Mrs. Potato Head, or cut just outside the stitching lines and sew there?

Thanks for the help!

BTW - I've loved everything you've posted lately!!
I cut out very close to the applique, and then just straight stitched it onto the top. I also stitched it in several places around the applique to really secure it into place!

Good luck with it. My daughter got the MOST compliments on this one!
I really don't want to part with ours yet!

Linda, I just noticed you finally got your tag!!!!

Yes I did!!! :yay: :yay:  Living in Wisconsin, I am a huge Packers fan. When the Packers were playing the Cowboys, I posted on that thread and said that I would rather be a Packers' fan anyday of the week over a Cowboys fan. Well, the tag fairy has a sense of humor and put "Would rather be a Cowboys fan over a Packers fan" in my tag! I was so upset, but he/she eventually fixed it!

I love the outfit...too cute...in Florida we don't wear much boots, but I love those....where did you get them?

I got them on Voldemort...They were made by a company called Jelly Beans. :goodvibes I am terrified to let Courtney wear them. We live in Wisconsin...Wisconsin=Snow/Slush..Snow/Slush=DIRTY!! :rotfl:

Goodness, I got behind by two days and had 10 pages to catch up on.

We're still here. I don't want to go home, they got snow yesterday, I'm not ready for snow, especially not in the DC area where people can't drive in the rain and snow, well, let's just say it's amazing that the gov't still moves when it snows because practically no one can drive in it. I'll be honest, the state usually can't clean the roads up enough and in DC everything stops but at least the subway usually works.

It's been chilly here, today was better, it was cold on the 4th. BRRRRR... It sure made the Christmas party more, well Christmassy.

We head home on Sunday morning (just before lunch) so we'll be home around 3. Plenty of time for laundry and getting ready for work.

The only "bad" thing that's happened is that one of Delaney's princess rag dolls is missing, she must have gotten mixed in with the housekeeping laundry. They are supposedly looking for her but no work yet. I'll have to call in the morning and see if they have had any luck, I sure hope they find her, I'm starting to get worried. Delaney is asking about her, if they can't find her I hope I can find one at one of the Disney Stores. She'll be upset if we can't find a replacement.

Tomorrow we're off to join up with the Mousefest folks and visit the Studios. We are really looking forward to the meet the beast outting tomorrow. And the Osborne Lights.

I've got to go and start packing up some things so I'm not in a panic on Saturday night. If I start now, should be much easier, I don't need everything.

We did Christmas with my inlaws tonight. I can barely peel Delaney's new baby Figaro (Minnie's cat) out of her hands. My MIL had been listening to Delaney when she was "shopping" for her special surprise. We get one thing for Delaney and then we let her pick out something as well.

I'm still hoping to catch up with TNmom.

I'll try to post a picture in the morning. I'm having trouble with photobucket right now so I'll try again later.

How cold is it? When we were growing up, we only went to Florida in December. I would hear people talking about how warm Florida is, and wonder what the heck they were talking about! It was NEVER warm enough to swim when we went! We have pictures of us in winter coats. I think it just feels COLDER there when it gets cold. Nothing like Michigan, but still cold!

I hope you meet up with Deann! Just start hollering "DEANN!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!" wherever you go!

Poor Mayson. He's been sick awhile, hasn't he? Poor you for having to clean that up too! Unless, your husband did it?

Nellie is a cute one. I think they are all cute though! Lydia wants Kaya.

I'm laughing so hard about this I can hardly type!

Ok guys, I think I'm going to get started on Lydias's Build a Bear dress today. Wish me luck! I have to pick Arminda up after school and rush to my Mom's in the hopes of seeing Heather before she heads all the way to Arizona for a week! :sad1:

Hello ladies! I'm sorry that I haven't kept up well at all this week, but I'm all packed up and ready to head to the World!!   When DH and I get home from work tonight we will pack up the car and the kiddos and head to a hotel near the airport. (1 1/2 hrs away) We will be at the airport bright and early for our 6:30 flight.

I didn't finish all the customs I had planned to make, but they will have a few. I also made them both flannel robes to wear to the pool and last night I threw together 2 very crued I Spy bags. I'm going to surprise the kdis with them once we get on the plane. Hopefully they will be a big hit.

Don't get too chatty this week or I'll never catch up!!! :scared1: I'll cross my fingers that I have some nice pictures to share when we return.

thanks everyone for the many warm welcomes:cutie: ! I'm off tonight to my local hellmart to stock up on disney material. My husband laughs and says that it will probably end up in the closet along with all the other projects i have yet to start ( scrapbooks, unfinished kids art projects, etc). I am determined to prove him wrong...have a good day everyone...

Sorry, I didn't mean to show you up! :guilty:

Oh, it's quite all right. That Cinderella jumper is fantastic!

Why is it that cutting into Minnie Dot fabric causes such great anxiety?

We have a potential trip in January but I still have to convince DH that it is feasible (both money and time wise). One of my methods of persuasion is to make DD an apron top dress out of Minnie Dot fabric. It terrifies me to cut but cut I will. Wish me luck.

I am making an apron top or dress (can't decide but probably dress AND pants) for DD with the following pattern:
B5019.jpg

Butterick 5019
I will be using Minnie Dot fabric for the main fabric. I was thinking about putting a ruffle along the bottom edge of the front piece and Rumba ruffles on the back part in yellow, white or black. Would that look silly?
Also, what color bias tape for the arms/neck? Yellow?

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks.

I would do white bias and any color ruffles you want (i would do white again, but I am a plain-jane person myself) . I think it'll look cute. good luck withthe convincing.

I would use a yellow ruffle on the front and black Bias tape for the arms and neck. Maybe some yellow ruffles on the bottom of the pant's legs.

Ruffles on the back will be adorable.

I think that will be adorable!! I'd go with the dress length (show off those ruffles!!) with white bias tape and white ruffles.

I need some help!! I'm looking for Abby Cadabby (from Sesame Street) Clip Art or coloring pages. Whenever I search, I come up with the plush doll. I need the drawing of her!! Can Anyone Help?
