What a lazy day! My sewing machine is sitting idol after the mad dash to get everything done before our trip. I have some cute fall/winter patterns and plan on buying those adorable corderoy (sp???) prints at Walmarshay. They are in blue. dark pink, and browns...very expensive looking.

Castle Creations- That Epcot skirt is a-may-zing! WOW!

Spongie- hurry and posty!!!!

Done . . . thanks! I did not notice that.

Hello ladies! I'm finally caught up, but I gave up the thought of multi-posting everything I liked about 10 pages ago! Everything has been fantastic! I especially love seeing the pictures from all of those who have just returned. I have a few projects to show off.

Last weekend I went on a scrapbooking retreat with a bunch of my good friends. I completed autograph books for both kids. Megan's was made totally by me using chipboard, CD's and scrapping supplies. For Wyatt's I used a pre-made album and painted the cover and attached the paper and stickers.

These are great!!!
Ok, how did you do the CD one?? I'm thinking Corey needs to make one like that!

And last but not least, here is what I've been working on this weekend. Can you tell who Megan chose to be for Halloween?? I still need to make the white pantaloons and get her some new black tights. Now I need to get cracking on a pirate shirt an vest for DS.

You can use plain CDs covered with patterned paper and a bunch of circle shaped pieces of cardstock. Then you punch holes in all of them and bind with a ring, ribbon or piece of twill. For this one I sandwiched the CD's between 2 circular (and one flower scalloped on for the back) pieces of chipboard to give it a bit more stability. It is super easy.

Thanks!!! That sound like something we can handle! And, we have pleanty of CDs laying around here!

Here's the side view of what it looks like if that helps give you an idea. The CD's were some of those free AOL cd's that they're always mailing out.

Twirl skirts are super simple!!! I made one yesterday in about 2 hours and that included ric-rac trim. I say go for it!

It's starting to make sense... But still wondering how you punched holes in the cds without them breaking?:confused3

hi -

i was wondering if anyone had made a patchwork twirl skirt for a size 6 - if so, would you be willing to share your number of patches for each layer?

Hey, I found some halloween fabric in the remanants at Joann's today! they were about 1/2 yard, and came up at .48 cents!!!! when the fabric in general is on sale, you get that discounted price, then remanants were on sale, and then because of the Columbus day sale they were even more off!!!!!

i also saw some 4th of July fabric on sale - should have snagged it, but it was $2/yard and then 50% off!!! and those little squares of fabric were 99 cents too!! Great Sale!!!

Do they usually have any cute Disney Christmas fabric, or would it be out already? i saw the light blue one with mickey - but any others?

im going to try a patchwork twirl tonight!!! have a great day!!!

Finally have a photo to post. This is an Epcot skirt that I finished today. There are little Epcot balls wearing Mickey ears here and there all over it.
I think it came out okay.I have to start the shirt soon.

Love it! Other than the reversible top that you made with this fabric, I think this is my favorite idea with this fabric! The petticoat is a nice touch!!

okayi have been sewing like a mad woman for the last couple of weeks:rolleyes1 i finished my special dress for DD princess dinner at ariel's grotto in DCAprincess: i will post a picture as soon as i make the petticoat for underneath:cutie: speaking of! does anyone have any easy ways of making one? i have a ton more outfits to sew for the kiddos and only 12 days left :scared1: but i am not gonna stress because i am way to excited for my 1st trip (as well as the kiddos) to DisneyLand:woohoo:

BTW: all the outfits posted on here in the last coupe of days are great.. and yes i know i am not a chatty patty:rotfl: i did not even make it on the list of the top chatters although if you were to ask UtahMama in real life she can't get me to shut up:rotfl: back to sewing ...
:rolleyes1

We want pictures!!

Here is a fall/halloween outfit that I finished a while ago. It is cased from someone on this thread although she used the bling around the candy corn. The candy corn applique gave me all kinds of grief, so I used black fabric paint for the patches on the jeans and the small candy corns. It was much easier than I had expected. I was afraid that the fabric paint might make a big goopy mess.

Here's a close-up of the front and back patches.

I may go back and add some black ric-rac around the bottom of the jeans.

I really like the back of the jeans! What a cute idea!

Love this outfit!!!

I feel the same way too about my kids pictures. My dad is a retired police officer so needless to say my parents were VERY overprotective when I was growing up and it wasn't half as crazy then and it is today!!!

Is there anyway that we can just blur the faces out of the pictures, I LOVE:love: all of your beautiful creations and I would hate for them to disappear out of the photobucket!!!! Just a thought...

Thanks!! I will still post pics but just of the clothes. I am working on a couple orders and finishing the girls Halloween stuff now. I have the girls Chirstmas at WDW outfits planned and the fabric was bought.

My first show for my Christmas Collection is in 10 days so I am swamped!!!

The whole infraction thing- It is just a matter of consistency. It needs to be fair.

Ok, here is what I have been working on...

This was for the little girl whose birthday party we went to today. She didn't seem that impressed but her mother squealed when she pulled it out so I guess it's a success!

This is M's bat outfit. I don't like the neckline of the top, but she seems happy with it:

This is her turkey outfit on, amoeba leaves and all!

Whew! I need a break I think! Why is it still so hot here?

I love this! The Epcot ball fabric is fantastic with this! Where did you get that fabric and the flag fabric?

The flag fabric I bought off of Voldemort a while ago, and the epcot balls I made by hand. I took silver fabric and just sewed across it with black thread.
I made a matching shirt too, but haven't posted pictures yet..LOL.

She just asked for a picture of the different shanks. You have to match the type of ruffler foot to the type of shank you have on your sewing machine, or the ruffler foot won't work.

It's just the way your sewing machine is set up. I don't know if there is an advantage to any particular style, other than the slant shank ruffler being harder to find.
Oh, thanks! I thought I was missing out - LOL!

I am playing catch up.

The majority of all of my posts are on this thread. This is the only thread I keep up with now. I will post some questions I am sure when I finish our trip plans.

I guess it is sour grapes but . . . I have not posted much since I got an infraction. I did the same thing another posted did on the same thread and only I was reprimanded. I know this is a taboo subject.

Also, my DH was majorly concerned about my girls photos on the site. There are so many lurkers that we just do not know who is out threre. He is a very protective father and I need to respect him for that. I asked that the girls pics be taken off of the link.
I understand - DH is pretty protective too. Good to see you back!

I have a scrapbooking tool called a Crop-a-Dile that can punch through all kinds of things. Hmm, I didn't think about that. Maybe you could use a small drill?

Thanks to all of you who have complimented my creations! You are the best!

okay here it is for those who want to see the dress i made for DD princess: dinner at DCA. I went a lil extravagant:rolleyes1 being my only DD and her first visit..
jayedynsprincessdress1.jpg
