It was pretty easy to watch her today (probably since Katie was laying on the floor at my feet throwing a fit, hard to imagine I know). She has been dropped so many times I think I am getting used to it :) I think I will be a nervous mess at the competitions though. She was a base last year, safely on the ground where I like her! I am more nervous when she tumbles. She is learning full twists right now and I am afraid she is really going to get hurt. DD however says "I can't do layouts forever, MOM". I am sure I will have gray hair by the end of the season!

Thanks for all of the compliments on Katie's outfit.

Her scorpion is gorgeous. I am a cheerleading judge. I coached for 9 years before the girls came along. What level does her team compete at? Tell her good luck on her full.

Here are the sets I made for DD:

The face gave me such a problem! This is all cut & pieced speratley The eyes got messed up..& I was *this* close to tossing this outfit! LOL I had to pick off the appliqued eyes & decided to paint them on lol..so it looks ok as long as you don't look too close. After this set, I decided to use panels LOL

Yup, your Eliana and my Liliana have the same crazy hair!!!

So, DH ran late at work and I didn't make it in time for bowling. That means 2 of us were out, I hope they don't hate me:confused: BUT on the bright side it left me free to finish up the tink sundress I started last night. I am using elastic for the first time ever-YAY!! it's going quite well so far. I'll keep you posted. If I finish up I'll probably start cutting out the fabric to make my pillow case dresses (princess toile and day of the dead fabrics) Still deciding weather the DOTD dress gets a pair of matching pants or if its to much print. I needed something for halloween and a layered skirt seemed like too much work. Besides I'm in L-O-V-E with the fabric. anywho, that's my babbling for today. I'm impressed w/ all of the great appliques!!! I hope my "friend" on her epcot top works out, but we're not there yet!!

I need some advice and figured you ladies (and gentleman) would be great to ask.

As silly as it sounds, my DD (6) does not know HSM is a movie. She has seen the Pep Rally at MGM several times and also saw the stars live when they were filming the Christmas parade last year. I "think" what she likes about HSM is the cheerleading and the music.

Now of course they have HSM stuff everywhere, the dolls, books etc. I don't think she puts it together that the dolls are from the movie (if that makes sense). So my question is this-should I buy her the movie? Is there anything "objectional" about it? Has your 6 year old seen the movie and did they like it? I think there is a lot of singing in the movie?

Can you tell I am HSM clueless?:lmao:

I can relate here. My dd is also 6. We don't even watch Sponge Bob at our house. I am very picky about what I allow. My DD just loves to sing, so I thought I would buy it and watch it before I decided. I was pleased. (although I must admit I wish she would just stick to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "The Sound of music") Although teen oriented, I found that there was nothing I could object to. I found it to be very innocent, enough so that she has watched it many times.

Now mind you, I allow only High School Musical 1. I watched the second and thought it was too grown up for my dd (again I am protective) So, she is only allowed to watch the first one. She LOVES it. I have too say I even purchased HSM on ice tickets for Christmas. I am going to make her and her friend outfits and we are going to take the girls. She is going to be so happy.

There you have it! my 2 cents:)

Thanks for looking!

Very cute. It's nice to see some boy things occasionally.

Here's some fabric I picked up at hancock to make an Epcot ball shirt.

I AM SOOO JEALOUS !!!! That is exactly what I was looking for, but we do not have anything like that at our walmart which is all I have to choose from, but I did get some quilted white material and will be painting it silver so I hope for it to look like this when I am done !!

I just wanted to give a BIG HUG to all you parents out there that have angels. I was afraid I would miss someone if I started the quote thing and I didn't want to do that.

I have an angel in Heaven too. We had a miscarriage in 1999, I was 10 weeks. I will never forget that baby or the days/weeks that followed those 2 horrible days.

I think Jennwdw put it best:
I miss them but there was another plan for me and for them and had I not had them and lost them I may have never known my other children and I don't know that I would change anything about my life and my story....Really the phrase "I'm sorry" makes me crazy because I'm not sorry at all. Please don't be offended, I understand the sentiment but for me personally I don't feel sorry at all for the way life has twisted and turned for us. ...I have 5 beautiful children and had the first 2 not been born and then died I probably would have never known my other three and I just can't imagine that at all!!!

I have been blessed with two children and they are my absolute world. If things had been different, they wouldn't be here.

So hugs to all of you that have told your story and those that haven't.

I often tell people a quote from a song by Garth Brooks, The Dance. "I could have missed the pain, But I would have had to miss the Dance". Surely had I never gotten pregnant with my angels I would not know the horrible pain of losing children, but The joy my babies gave me while I had them in me, well it can't be measured. I wouldn't change a bit, because like Jennw, I may not have my other children had it not been for losing the precious babies that I lost.

I am sorry too for everyones losses.
Love shouldn't hurt so bad. :sad2:

a bit cheerier post. Here are the customs I made for the kiddos at Sea World, everyone posts Disney stuff. I have to be different. Plus I dont' have all the pics on the puter yet, but I will.

I am trying to make a top with an EPCOT ball on it, but cannot find any material that looks like the ball (minimal material shops around here - Walmart and a quilt shop)....

wondering if anyone had any ideas how to maybe paint one with maybe some of that glitter silver paint stuff...can you think of anything else?

I used fabric meant for an ironing board cover. It's in the back of the fabric stores, near the industrial stuff. If you can't find it, maybe you can find a cheap ironing board cover to cut up and use. It's perfect because it has the squares already sewn into it.

Aimee- your inbox is full! I was going to ask you about your sale on Voldemort.

LeAnn - Your outfits look great! That is a lot of work. Cinderella eyes/face look good to me, she has a great expression. LOL on the apple. I saw the pic and said "what is that?? Oh and apple, maybe a stem?" Then i read you added one already. Your Nightmare outfit is awesome. I am totally going to CASE that one one day. Love the frogs breath bottle.

Thanks Lisa! That was exactly what I was looking for. Have you used any of the MM Christmas fabrics? I really like "Holiday Forest" (Xmas trees) and maybe a coordinating ironworks pattern, but it's hard to tell how things go together from a picture online. Just curious if you have any experience with that collection.

Thanks again!

I just got a package of fabric which included some of the Holiday Forest and a few coordinates today. I did two outfits with some of the prints last year and have more planned for this year. I really like the colors of the prints in that line because they aren't the usual shades of red and green. I'm not so crazy about some of the coordinates in the line but that's OK because I prefer to make my own combination. :) I think the red, pink and "spearmint" Ironworks prints work well with that line as does the sorbet Disco Dots. They may not be EXACT color matches but they are close enough that I think they work really well.

Ok, I am going to make a confession! Don;t get mad at me guys, ok?

After waiting 20+ minutes at the fabric counter at Walmart last night, AFTER having told the lady working there I needed fabric cut, and her telling me she had to go to shoes FIRST! Corey figured out how to work that little scanner. There was another lady waiting with us too. She encouraged us a little, and then after waiting 5 more minutes, I decided to go for it. I cut the fabric, REALLY carefully (probably shorted myself actualy) and Corey punched the info into the scanner. The other customer asked us to do hers too. She cut, with us supervising, and Corey punched it in the scanner. I kept expecting someone to come over and yell at us, but no one showed up.

Ok, confession over.

Oh, I've been so tempted to do something like that but have never had the nerve. I usually go to the Layaway desk because it's very close to the fabric dept. so I have them find someone for me. What's odd is that now that the local store's fabric dept. has been shrunk, it seems like there's always an employee in the area. :sad2:

Oh very good idea....thanks! :yay:

I was going to also mention that I gingerly hoist my daughter up....not on people's shoulders but aboard a 1200 pound animal who's first instinct is to bolt and run 40 mph sideways at the slightest provocation  ...in otherwords...she rides horses! :rotfl2:
Here she is...

Hello all!

I just had to eek out one more outfit for our trip.;)

I had this tshirt with an applique that we got on clearance staring me in the face. I knew that I had to do something with it. Instead of cutting a panel out of the tshirt and then fusing it to a woven, I just cut VERY carefully around the applique and stitched it onto the woven around the edges. It worked out really well.

Anyway here is the finished project:
Mrs.jpg

The back of the shirt has shirring on it. (My first try at it BTW)
This tshirt came with several different pieces that you can add to Mrs. Potato head via a velcro backing. Here are a couple of different faces that I did:
Mrs-2.jpg

Mrs-4.jpg

I even made a pocket on the skirt to hold these pieces. It doesn't show with the top over the skirt on a small childs hanger, so here is a pic of just the skirt with the pocket detail.

Sorry that I didn't take pictures of the back, I will make sure to take some pictures of DD in it at the Studios. I think that she will wear this to Hollywood and Vine lunch. I didn't get a chance to do JoJo, so this will have to do.

Thanks for looking!

A little off topic- but it I need to coordinate outfits.

Has anyone been to the 1900 Park Fair Breakfast? Which characters are there? We had to rework our dining plan. Since we were able to get Hollywood and Vine I had to ditch 1900 dinner. I am not sure who is there.

ETA- What is the weather like in early December?

Hey Aimee,
Someone has probably already responded, but we went to WDW last December from the 8th to 12th. I had to pack more than I do for the spring and summer b/c there were such great variances in the weather. We layered in the a.m. w/long sleeve t-shirt and a short sleeve over that and a fleece. We shed layers during the day and were in coats, hats and gloves in the evening as it was in the '40s! Hope that helps.

Wow :) These are great and super inspiration for those of us with boys. There are so many cute things for the girls, but it's hard to dress the boys!
Thanks for sharing!

bsusanmb Your DD has the same type of hair my DD does..yet you can style it so well! I can never do anything with my DD's! It is always crazy looking! LOL Pigtails are the only "creative" things I have done with it! LOL

Well, we wet it slightly first, or all you get is a bundle of curls that look ratty if you comb through them..pull it together towards the top and back of the head and then twist it...like the old fashioned french twists of years gone by. And we use lots of bobbi pins...and then a little hair spray...when it is down, the hotter she gets, and the sweatier she gets, it just curls up in finger curls and ringlets....I have straight as a stick hair too and so does Makayla's mommy (my daughter)...don't know how she got curls, but they are really cute!
