Love that Christmas outfit!
Here is one outfit I have completed for DD. This is for her to wear to Ohana, we are having our first evenings dinner there and our last days breakfast as well. She wanted Lilo and Stitch painted on, she also wanted me to put Ohana and Aloha, but I didn't know how that would look. Didn't want to go overboard.........
That's amazing!!! What a great job! You painted that? It looks fantastic!
We made shirts last night- The only sewing was to make the mickey head shape, We tie dyed- used many of the helpful tips I found on the boards. Here they are:
I think they turned out pretty good
We did it when the baby was sleeping but DS helped- We suited him up with Yellow gloves and he was good to go. I took some pics of him to but I didn't think to put them on here- I will in a bit
These all look great! Thanks for posting the picture of your son helping too! So cute!
How much were those fabrics?
They were $2 a yard, I got them in Sturgis. The princess one is gone now though.
I'm thinking Tessa needs an outfit, too. She is a "Call girl" after all.

That's how she pronounced "Cowgirl". She goes around telling people she's a call girl.
Ok, first of all

How funny!!! Thank goodness Lydia wants to be a Astronaut Farmer Seamstress Sometime she just shortens it to Astronaut Farmer though.
And, remember the cowgirl outfits that use to be in the Sears catalog? I wanted one of those SOOOO bad! But, alas, I never got one. So, I am living, what's that word again? Vicariously, through Arminda and Lydia!

TERESA!!!! You bad, bad, bad, girl!!! I can't believe you did that! I can't say I haven't considered it a time or two, but I never had the guts to actually do it! I can't believe no one stopped you!
Come on Heather, you've known me for pushing
33 years now, is it
THAT hard to believe??

Corey and I figured we saved
Walmart about $8-$9 in labor costs!

I thought our babies deserved their own seperate reply.

To all of you!
I lost my first baby, Hayden, at 11 weeks. You can read about his story here:
http://www.geocities.com/heaths32/hayden.html I have since learned that only 10% of pregnancies go to full term with the blood clotting disorder I have. So, my children are truly my little miracles! It's amazing how so many of us have this kind of grief in common.

to each one of you and to all who haven't been able to conceive.

You are making me cry again, Heather. I miss my little nephew, and think about him all the time.
So terrible to lose a child. From the second you become pregnant you start having all the dreams, hopes and what ifs for your child. what hair & eye color, whose nose or chin will they have? What kind of personality? And when you don't get to live those dreams.... so sad.
You expressed that perfectly.
When I was pregnant with DD we did have a scare that there was something wrong with her heart- Worst week of my life waiting to see the perineatologist (sp?). Turned out to be a common abnormality?!?! But it is a factor for downs so we had to decide if we wanted to do the other downs tests- we didn't and she is perfectly healthy!!
We had a smilar scare with Lydia, first, we were sure we were having a miscarriage becasue I was bleeding and cramping, thankfully that went away. But, then there was a test that came back wrong (can't think of the name right now) and they were worried she might have down syndrome. They wanted to do an amnio, but with the greater risk of miscarriage after that, we didn't see why we would do that. I mean, we were going to keep and love this baby no matter what! But, they did do a level 3? ultrasound, and didn't see anything wrong on that. I was still a little worried about it until she was born, and asked if she was ok. She didn't have downs, but they were worried about her breathing, and put her in the NICU for days. Nothing was actually wrong with her, but they made us worried that she might have spinal meningitis, and I really thought we might lose her after all.
But, as you can see, she was fine.
Thanks, guys, for all of the compliments.
Yes, I did rip the inside seam out, because I didn't want to lose the little slit sewn into the outside seam of the legs. It wasn't bad at all. On the pockets, I just sewed them shut when I put the patch on them. She's not even 2, I'm thinking she won't be needing to store anything back there.
As for the Wal-Mart issue, they have already almost totally cleared out our fabric section. They aren't ordering anything new, so I have to drive at least 30 minutes to another Wal-Mart for fabric. However, the lady that is in our fabric department is still available every time I go over there, she just doen't have many customers because there isn't much to choose from. The funny thing is that they aren't really marking the fabric down (costwise). You would think that with as little is over there, they would clearance it off instead of staffing someone at that table everyday.
Have you wrote to Walmart about saving the fabric department? Heather has a link in her signature that will take you to the Walmart feedback page. Write them an email and let them know how much you want them to keep the fabrics at your store. It has worked for some other stores around here where they had decided to take out the fabrics!
