you have more than 3 successive posts of all the same thing and it still doesnt work!

Don't worry. . . you are really close. Just copy and past the IMG code. If you double click on the link you gave you can see the pics. You did a great job!!! I threw away my fist tulle project. I love the pirate fabric. I have never seen it around. I think it is really cute how all these little girls are loving pirates.

Just think how easy the next skirt will be!

thanks aimeeg (thats how my sister spells her name too)

I was working on applique tonight. I have been working on Sleeping Beauty. It has turned out really nice. I just have to do the face now. So, I thought I will applique a square on another shirt. Oh my goodness- everything that could go wrong has!!!! Why is it I can do curls tonight but not a straight line.

My DH is in grad school so at night he has a ton of homework. He works full time and goes to school full time. I am pretty much on my own in the evenings. He fell asleep reading on the couch tonight. Well, that is every night. That is why I can get so much sewing done.

I have to take apart my machine so I am done for the evening. I am just procrastinating before I go to bed. My DH and I are painting our girls room tomorrow. We are sending them to my Dad's first thing in the morning. I should be getting ready for that! It would make my life easier. I am not what you call a morning girl.

oooohhh, I like that skirt! I like how you made the top tier much shorter, I've not done that yet. Mine have been just a little shorter, I like it alot!

I have an Emma too!! Mine was 2 in June, how old is yours?. I like the tshirt dresses, I think it's my new favorite thing to make. I bought a bunch of shirts at Walmart that were on clearance for $1 today    I can't wait to make something with them!

I am no expert here but this is what I do. First I brush out DD's hair and get it wet (damp) either with a washclothes or a wet brush. I also lightly spray hairspray in it to help catch flyaways! Then standing in front of her with DD facing me, I use a large soft brush to gather all of her hair up in a rather "high" pony tail. (By high I mean not on the back of her head but one that gathers on the top of her head.) I make sure I loop the pony tail holder several times so its pretty tight. Then I pull up on the holder so it moves away from her scalp about 3/4 inch. Then I part the hair in the pony tail and pull down on both sides so that the hair pushes the pony tail holder back down. For some reason this also causes the hair to curve under which is what you want. At this point you could use a large barreled curling iron to help firm up the curve. Hairspray again. Next use bobby pins to collect the hair up under the curve back by the pony tail. I know BBB puts a pretty hair comb to do this which would work too. Hairspray again and you are done! (BBB also sprinkles glitter all over at the end too!) Hope this makes sense. Practice makes perfect! If you can't do it, bring her to a hair salon and have them show you how to do it. Then you will only have to pay once but can do it yourself after !!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thank you so much! I will try it this weekend. I haven't been using bobby pins, just elastics. I will have to try it your way. The little one's look so cute with their hair like that.

Well, here is the complete tinkerbell outfit that I gave to my neice. (It has a peasant shirt too but it was too warm for her to wear it!) I made the korkers too. Not sure you can tell - the jeans have bling fairy dust going down the leg by Tink. She really liked it (can't quite tell from the pictures!!) She wanted to try it on right away, and my SIL had a hard time getting it off her that night!) Of course I decided to make the dres for bitty baby at the last minute!!

Hmm, was it a Simplicity book? I know Aimeeg really liked it. I'm suprised she isn't up, to answer you she doesn't sleep, yah know! :lmao: :drinking1

ETA: I did a Google search for the disboards, and the one that AimeeG and bsusanmb , suggested was Simplicity's Simply The Best Sewing Book

Thank you! I picked one up tonight with my 40% coupon at JoAnns. Looks like a good book to have on hand for those sticky situations I always get myself into.

I have the brother 6000, but what stitch length did you go with? Also it seems more like a pleat than a ruffle, is that a different setting or will it adjust with the stitch length? TIA

I Use a number 6 and adjust the tention to a 7 ish. I think it makes it more of a gathered ruffle. I have a viking and that is what I adjust to, but I use the ruffler foot at the same time.

When I first saw that picture I thought "wow, she CASED Leslie perfectly!" Then I realized it was you that posted and decided it was time for my morning coffee!!! :rotfl: I love the korkers, I've baked some, but not done anything with them yet. Only here would that not sound strange!

So cute too. There are so many adorable things on this thread, and adorable kiddos!

Ok, just over a month ago I did not even know how to turn on a sewing machine :rolleyes1 Thanks to this thread I have been inspired to learn how to sew even though I have no kids to sew for  I know this thread is called the "KIDS Disney boutique/custom clothes" but I am a kid at heart, a Disney fan and everyone here has made me feel very welome, you guys are great :grouphug: The outfit is for me to wear to WDW the top is a modified Simplicity 4176 view c and the bottoms are capri jeans that I cut the upturned cuff off of it and then added the ruffles to :thumbsup2

I will post a pic of it on later when DH gets home. I made the top longer than the pattern called for (with help of my instructor) so it would hide a few caloric sins :rotfl:

Thanks for letting me share :cheer2:

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. My daughter loves the idea of adding the bling skull & cross bones. But where would you add it to? The skirt? The corset?

So exactly how does this work again? How do you make and bake korkers? Do you have a website....uh oh...I know...go check TeresaJoy's bookmarks right???

Well you could do that or add it to the peasant shirt near the top???? :confused3

So, my DH asked if he could go to JoAnn's with me yesterday... He wanted to pick out a pattern and fabric so that he can make our DD (due mid-December) a dress!! He is so excited about her arrival that he told me he wants to be a part of everything... including sewing for her.

We bought Butterick 5439 - I thought it looked like a good one for him to start with (although we will probably leave off the rick-rack the pattern uses). Now all we have to do is find the pink camo fabric he wants. The lady at JoAnn's told us that it has been so popular that they sell out of it almost as soon as it comes in (the last time they got a bolt in, someone bought the whole bolt the first day.) I know I've seen it at a few places recently, so what a wonderful excuse to hit more fabric stores!?!

Now I just need to get him interested in Disney customs and o.k. planning for her first trip.
