Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 4

Here are a few from our trip :)
We aren't used to that Florida heat so I tried to have customs made that would be very comfy and cool. Some aren't very original, but I thought with the bows and accessories they came together nicely.

Avery got to ride with Goofy on Barnstormer (Jack declined). When we were leaving Animal Kingdom we stopped by the Character Photo spot with Winnie the Poo and Friends. We were the only ones there so we got a few family pics with all of the characters together!

I haven't even touched the Photopass yet...

Anyway, heres a few~

Karrierock, we lived in Springfield before moving to my hubbys hometown close to Columbia. I still consider Oklahoma home though (sigh). I LOVE all of your pics! Again it was nice to meet you at Philharmagic!! :goodvibes

I think it looks great!

I think the pink & purple is perfect. Where did you get the skirt pattern? I've seen them before, but I've never seen a pattern for one.

I think the skirt is really cute & if she likes it then it's perfect.

DisneyPhotoImage35.jpg

The highlight of her trip, I have video of her jumping up and down, screaming, ANNIE ANNIE ANNIE, as they walked to the photo spot!

This is reason I can't wait to go to WDW. I think I'm more excited to see dds reaction to meeting her favorite characters than I am about being there myself.

Karrie! I LOVE the outfits and the pictures! AWESOME! I so need to get sewing!

Glorib! Boo is amazing! I thought mine was good and this puts mine to shame! I LOVE It!

I could go on all day about all the outfits but it needs to be sewing time!

I just love the "Don't touch my booty" too cute, and those cinderella shoes, we just might have to get them next time! I'd wish I had all DD comfy cool outfits like yours. Two days she wore jeans, (tink outfit, and Princess outfit), we changed at lunch time.

This is so true! It was super fun to watch her at the first parade she saw. (it was her first parade period! She will be so disappointed when we go to the local christmas parade this year;) ) She would just yell out whoever she saw, and about tipped the stroller over when she saw Tink!:wizard:

Thank you! I thought this was going to be the solution. :headache: I made a t-shirt for my daughter with sharpies once - bled like crazy, so I guess I will just get a fabric marker.

So, here is the skirt I made her. It didn't turn out as well as I thought it would. But she likes it and insisted on wearing it to church yesterday. It is cords and some sueded poly.

Those are super cute - I bet DD LOVES the twirl factor!

Here's a few pics from our photopass, I still need to go through and delete all the bad ones from the camera.... I've flipped all these photos in photobucket, but they have a mind of their own. Now they decide to behave.....

Her Epcot outfit, that hardly anybody saw, it rained alot, so she went barefoot, and was covered in a poncho in the stroller, so much for the shoes! Note my skirt I made it at the last minute, I got lots of attention too. Someone even offered to buy it off of me. Sorry, I need some sort of bottoms for the day.!

Love, love, love the pics!!!! I am little worried about the rain when we get there Thursday - eeeekkk!

Looks like you had a fabulous trip! I love all the outfits - they are perfect!

I was born at Cox North, lived in Eudora, just past walnut grove, which is just passed Willard. Then went to High school in Branson class of 95. Got a BS in Psychology at SMSU, rather Missouri State now. Left MO in 1999 for TN, been here ever since!

Here is my Mickey head Santa for my DS. I think for the girls I will add a ribbon across the shirt. I used fleece for the white parts.

disboutique046.jpg

Glorib- want to come do my Nemo applique for me. :) Your Boo is Awesome, can't wait to see Sully and Mike.

Has anyone seen long sleeve orange Ts for girls anywhere. I want to applique a black cat on to one for Halloween but haven't had success finding one. Thanks for any help.

Now I've got to work on DD5 Halloween costume. 2 down, 1 to go.

So stinkin' cute! It looks even better on and I love the way the crab dresses turned out too. Congrats on the win!

Wow, that is awesome! It is the cutest thing I have ever seen!

I cannot let Megan see this one! It looks beautiful and so does Tessa! I think I have that pattern (from YCMT right?) but haven't tried it yet. It really came out great.

Love the pink and brown together. We are lucky that our creations are deemed perfect in our daughters' eyes!

th_DisneyPhotoImage42.jpg

Gosh darn it, aren't we stinkin cute!:rotfl2:

You are stinkin cute! Love the pictures and I'm glad you had a good time!

that would be way cuter if it said OU SOONERS ;)

Serioulsly, that is ADORABLE :)

LOL, well I had to try out this style before I attempted one for you. Hopefully all the mistakes are in this one and yours will be perfect! I loved all your pictures, they really turned out great.

Update: I finished the skirt and went to Target to buy a black t-shirt so I can attampt to applique some letters on them. Too bad the kids are due to get home in 20 minutes, they are so inconsiderate. Maybe if I hurry...

If it's not too much trouble, please post a pic of a rag quilt. I bought 5 different princess fabrics for the patchwork part, a purple fabric for the back of the blanket, and a pink fabric for around the edges of the purple and the patchwork. I hope that makes sense!

I haven't bought any fleece yet for the other blankets I'm thinking of making.

Too many projects!

Rag quilts are my fave! I posted one a few pages back it's in "gator"...

I'm ba-a-a-a-a-ck!!!
I missed you and all your creations while I was gone. I wish I could say I am all rested up from our trip to Washington DC, but I'm more tired now then I was when I left! WE did have a good time and I learned a few things.....
1. Washington DC in Septmember is unbearably HOT and HUMID!
2. When I'm tired, I can sleep ANYWHERE, including a haunted hotel and possibly even while standing!! LOL!
3. I may be a redneck at heart. We went to a NASCAR race while we were there and while there is a high "hassle factor" in going to them, I LOVED IT! We had such a great time.... and it was cool to see the engines blow up and cars catch on fire (oh my...... what is happening to me?)
4. Last, but certainly not least...... Busch Graden Williamsburg is NO WDW!!

BG Williamsburg is a TON of uphill walking - we went and my husband and fil try to take us on this short cut..which consisted of straight stairs up the side of what seemed like a mountain. Nascar is addicting btw... :)

Here is a pic of the flannel rag quilt. The front:

This is one made with home spun fabric (I think you can only get this at quilt shops but it shows the x and edges well.)
disboutique045.jpg

To make one you cut all your fabric (front and back) into 6" squares and your batting into 5 1/2" squares. Then you make 'sandwiches'. Back fabric, batting, front fabric make a big X in the middle. Then arrange all your sandwiches into rows and columns, whatever dimensions you want. Then you sew them together. I do all my across rows and then join them. Kind of like making a patchwork twirl skirt. But the hem is on the outside and then you make small cuts to make it fray. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Hi neighbor. Where in KC are you? I'm in South OP.

Love your rag quilt - my next is a curious george one! Can I suggest the fiskars rag quilt scissors? They are so much easier than regualr scissors!

Wow, aimeeg, that mermaid costume! It's even better on! No surprise she won the grand prize!

Ok, I was going to wait until I had the whole outfit done - but, well, I can't - I just have to share because I'm so excited! I'm making a Monsters, Inc. outfit for DD - and I have the t-shirt finished. It's the first character I've appliqued. Don't think I'll be doing any princesses any time soon, but I do have to do Mike and Sully for the skirt. Boo went ok - not great, but ok, so we'll see how the other two go. Anyway, here she is. . .

WOW thats GREAT!!!

off to work on a quick penguin skirt and ribbon t-shirt for DD to wear to seaworld this weekend - I have shamu fabric too - I may use that instead for the skirt... it's a company thing for my husbands company I want her to look cute!

Wow, you're really missing out if you haven't been to Wiki Watchy. Yeah, sure...

Yeah, I don't get it either! Sorry Teresa :confused3

That's a super job on your applique! Don't give up, Mike & Sully should be much easier!

She's such a cutie! And that's a super applique! That skirt is adorable, was it complicated? I'm scared to try one!

Very pretty!

I don't know if you noticed, but I used this outfit as inspiration for one I made. Yours is my favorite Tink outfit ever! I love all your pics, so keep 'em coming!

BTW, when are we getting together? Maybe you can teach me how to use a stinking pattern! :rotfl: Wait, that wasn't a joke, I was serious ;)

I love these pics! I have one of my girls on the monorail the first time we went and they could see the castle in the distance. It's one of my favorite pics. Did you make the Cinderella dress?

I love this skirt! It would be a great start of school skirt!

th_DisneyPhotoImage90.jpg

At Pirate and Princess Party I forgot to mention the hook. Suddenly she wanted to be captain Hook, so Daddy made her hook, from the top of a hanger in the closet, a plastic cup, note paper, sharpie, clothes pin, and tape. She never put it down, she carried her little loot bag on it, and would hold it up at the treasure spots!
That is too cute! What a good daddy!

I love your skirt!!! You guys look so cute!

Here's Wendy checking out DD outfit. She got tons of attention this day! She was showing Wendy her brothers on her necklace.
I love this picture! How precious!

Doesn't that just make it all SO worth it! I love the tutu too!

Ok, WOW! You guys look fantastic! I love the picture of your daughter with Minnie! Your kids are adorable! I can tell you guys were having lots of fun!

I think the pink & purple is perfect. Where did you get the skirt pattern? I've seen them before, but I've never seen a pattern for one.
.

There are a few places that sell them. I know YCMT has one. They are called spiral or redondo skirts. If you do a search, you will probably find it. There are directions for some in the bookmarks section as well, but I don't know how clear they are. In the bookmark for the flounce, you can see the pattern for this pretty clearly, if you are good at this sort of thing, it probably wouldn't be too hard to enlarge it and use it for a pattern.

This was a bit of a challenge for a beginner but it came out fairly well. The seam ripper and I got very close. And I am convinced the Ruffler foot has it out for me; the thing kept jamming but I figured out that I needed to say a little prayer with each stitch and it behaved a bit better.

It is not Disney but I think DD will wear it to AK in just 10 days!

I'm so far behind I couldn't possibly quote everyone, but EVERYTHING posted is great!!

Hi all we are off to start our holiday from Australia in 15 more sleeps and will be in WDW in 25 more sleeps so am trying to finish of the outfits I with the help of my DM and DMIL. This is the first one. My DM did most of this and I thankyou for the person who originally inspired this for me I think they had Alice on theres. I know my stuff will never be as great as the things lots of you make but I think she looks pretty good in this. Thanks for all your help and tips.
It's gorgeous!! I hope you have a wonderful trip :)

Amazing! It looks just like Boo. Fantastic job!

When we travel with tutus, I pack them in a ziploc bag, squeeze all the air out, and when we get there I use a hair dryer to fluff it back up. It works like a charm! I don't get the dryer real close to the tulle, just sorta under it, blowing up into the layers of tulle. I fun my fingers through it at the same time. I'e never tried an iron.
Great tip. Thanks!

It's pretty and I like the color combinations. Did you say you were a beginner? If so, it sure doesn't look like it.

Here's a few pics from our photopass, I still need to go through and delete all the bad ones from the camera.... I've flipped all these photos in photobucket, but they have a mind of their own. Now they decide to behave.....
She's adorable and looks so cute in all of her customs. I like your skirt too.

Cute kids and everything is adorable!

dance! :scared1: on the veil! What did you do?
Cried...alot. She was all set to try to buy me another one 1 hr before the ceremony, but there was nowhere nearby and mine was ordered to match the dress so it would have been hard ot replace. And then I saw that it was on the second layer, and was covered a bit by the top layer when it was pulled back....so it was OK in the end. There is a picture of her 'fixing my veil' on my head that the photographer insisted on taking. Now I laugh when I look at it, but at the time I was still pretty upset.
