Thanks! I had to post because I just had a mini-revelation. I have bunches of pieces of ribbon that I have bought off the roll so to speak. DS5 has been hoarding my empty thread spools, well, I wound ribbon on the empty thread spools and they fit perfectly on those in-between rows--wait I'll take a picture! DS is not going to be happy when he realizes his empty spools are gone!
I LOOOVE it!!! Corey looked for one of these hangers for me today at
Walmart, but we couldn't find one! We will keep looking!
Finally finished my other dds dress, so it was my first circle skirt, my first applique. What do you think?
ignore her hair! she just got out of the bath tub. LOL
Do you think the applique turned out ok?
I think it's GREAT!!!! Wondeful job! Your daughter is cute!!!! And, it is AGAINST THE RULES to apologize for your kid's hair! ALL of the kids on here are absolutely stunning, no matter if they just got out of the bath or the sandbox!
I have been lurking quite a bit the last few weeks and I just want to say that I am loving all of the outfits everyone is posting.
Wanted to share my second project. Started working on some overalls and things did not go as planned. My DH thought I was possessed when I started talking to the sewing machine. Any hoo. I finally got the bib done after breaking a needle and realizing that the needle was in the wrong position.
The worse thing was once I finished the bib my daughter refused to wear it. I had to bribe her by telling her I would take her to auntie's house. I didn't finish the ruffles on the bottom or do the stitching around the applique because it was so jacked up. Going to rip it off and start over tomorrow.
Somebody please tell me that this will get easier and one day my projects will look good!
Sorry to hear about your Nana!
I think this looks great! Your daughter is TOO CUTE!!!
I make mine really full. I'll post a pic. I use 3 rolls (75 yards), sometimes just a little less, but it is definately more than 50 yards. You can make it work with 50 yards, but it just isn't as full. I use the hand tie method. Sorry I don't have pics of the tutu on.
AHHH! That's so cute!!!!
Well, I had a huge mult-quote reply going yesterday and my computer decided to turn itself off right before I pressed send. I think I was saying something snotty to HeatherSue (about bows of course), something nice to Teresa, something about those cool bags I am going to CASE, something about begging for the pattern for Heather's cool Cinderella dress she is working on because I like to copy her, I can't remember what else. Maybe something about T's adorable outfits. Anyway, sorry!
Here is something for the boys:
Well, thank you for whatever incredibly nice thing you were going to say to me!!
I love Jacob's Pokemon outfit! He looks like he is pretty pleased with them too!
I have to tell yuo though, when Arminda is around, I have to scroll past Jacob's picture so she won't fall in love with that incredibly cute boy! (She is just at
tad boy crazy!
Hi Everyone - happy saturday!!!
I finally found a wedding pic on the computer - my friend and I made the head piece (nothing fancy) because i couldnt find anything affordable and not too fancy at the time - We just celebrated our 14th Anniv on Wed!!! It goes by so fast!!! lol!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

I love your wedding picture! Beautiful!
Wow! Teresajoy you rock! I just looked at the links for the first time and you are doing a great job!!!!!!
I am going to make a tutu for dd10's costume today. I was going to actually tie knots and I looked at the directions and now I know that youdon't really tie them you just loop them through, right????? I've never made anything like that so I am hoping it works because it would be much easier than tieing a knot in each one!
I would usually go the more difficult route and do an elaborate and complicated pattern or something, but you guys have had such cute tied tutus that I'm going to give it a shot and be smart for once and not get myself into a really stressed out down to the wire sewing session!
Thanks!!! I'm glad I could help you out!!!
Thank you. It was an expected one. My Mother in Law had been sick for about 2 years. We are comforted knowing she is with her beloved now.
I finished the middle ones today.
I am already wishing I had not listened to them though and mixed the colors together.

for your loss.
And, the tutu is adorable!!! You are really on a roll with these!!!
Hi!! I have my first outfit done. Its the first thing I have ever sewed. I love it and have already started number 2. Please let me know what you opinons are. My hubby did help LOL. Here it is:

Wow, a compliment from Tom himself. My head is inflating at this very minute.
Yep, I saw her today, her head is definetely a little bigger today!
Hey, the deal is if you've found this thread and posted on it, your automatically cool.

Now, stop trying to hone in on my post numbers!
Ok, if you guys don't cool it,
I am going to stop muliposting!!! Then, you will have like 5 pages of JUST ME posting!
So pretty!! I love that you got to wear your mom's headpiece, too! I wore my sister's veil and my SIL wore it too. Hopefully our girls will wear it someday (FAR FAR in the future).
I love your siggy pic!! That is just too cute!
And, as everyone could see, you looked gorgeous in it!
Now, you stop talking about our babies growing up and getting married!
That is a cute dress. I love both of the fabrics. I'm afraid Kirsta is going to start outgrowing all this fun sewing. She'll be 7 in January.
Armind is 9 (and a half) and still loves me to sew for her. You probably have some time left!
Hi!! Ok I will try again. THANKS Alot!!!!1
Thanks,
Melanie
One more time:
Melanie, that's beautiful!!! Really nice job!!!
I always have a hard time finding the exact picture I'd like to work off of when making an applique. So, I thought I'd let you all know how I figured out how to get pretty much any picture from a movie.
I just popped in Cinderella on DVD and played it with InterVideo WinDVD. This is a program that came with my computer and plays DVD movies. There is a little camera on the toolbar in this program. When you click on the camera, it takes a picture of whatever is on the screen. You can then save the picture to your computer and use whatever editing program you want to make it bigger or smaller, change the colors, whatever.
This is how I got this picture of Cinderella in her work clothes:
Actually, the picture I got had a different face. But, I put a smiley-er face on it from another part of the movie. Anyway, I hope this all makes sense and someone can use it to get the perfect picture to turn into an applique.
Thanks for explaining that Heather! You are so very clever!
You got her name right although since I have been sewing for her, I have renamed her the "Buttless" wonder. Her pants won't stay up!!!!!!! My dd is NOT amused by the new name
Cindee

Poor Jord!
You are a technical wizard! I have no idea what you're talking about though

Actually, I have a small idea but I'm sure by the time I get around to doing it I'll have forgotten! Thanks for your help! That outfit is outstanding!
I'll add it to the bookmarks under applique. Unless of course Heather beat me to it!
Ok, here's one thing that's been keeping me busy - a little pirate skirt for DD. It's the petal skirt pattern from YCMT. It wasn't too hard, really - but it took me forever to do the rolled hem on all those petals!
I need some help - what kind of top do you think I should make to go with this? I was thinking some kinda simple since the skirt is so busy? Maybe a red t-shirt with a pirate mickey head applique? Or a peasant shirt? What do you guys think?
Hope everyone's having a great weekend! We're finally going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow, so I'll have to post pics of dd's pumpkin outfit tomorrow when we get back. She is so over trying on clothes/having her pic taken today.
I love that! I would do a peasant top with it. I love that pattern. I haven't used it yet, but I'm planning out an Ariel skirt with it.
i have so enjoyed seeing everyones wedding/prego pics! i finally found one of mine that had been scanned in. please keep in mind that this was 8 1/2 yrs (& 35 lbs) ago! i was 23 and dh was 24. we were married 11 months after our first date!
