Has anyone tried to use the WWMAG coupon code more than once for YCMT.com? I ordered a few things last week and ran across a few more that I wanted and I tried to use the code and it says that I exceeded the maximum use for the code.:confused3

I bought this set for DD on eBay:
piratetutu.jpg

After I got it, I realized it would be really easy to make (although I probably could never do it! :rotfl: ) I was told you could buy pre-cut strips of tulle. They would be twice as long as you want the finished tutu length to be, and then you just wrap them around a piece of elastic and loop the tulle through a hole you cut in it so its attached to the elastic. You would just repeat this until it was as full as you want it to be.
I hope that makes a little sense!

Of all the pirate princess outfits I've seen this is my absolute favorite. I love the pettiskirt, and the hat with the red minnie dot scarf underneath is adorable.

MY PRINCES IS 5!!!!

DD turned 5 yesterday!! I made her a sock monkey dress to open on her birthday. She actually squealed when she opened it!!! Here's a picture from this morning. She wanted to wear it today (with a pair of shoes she got at her birthday party)

That is adorable!! Happy Birthday to you little girl!!

You all have inspired me to get a ruffler foot...BUT it looks nothing like the simple looking ones posted several pages ago. It is one of the scariest things I've seen since my diaper changing days :laughing: I have a degree in physics, but am not sure that's going to be enough to figure it out. Is it as complicated to use as it looks??!!

P.S. UMama...this week's been nutty, but I'll make it to the post office early next week and then it'll be Christmas in Utah :)

As she was adding up my bill, she said "That's a lucky little girl and boy" to which I replied, no, I am the lucky one, so blessed to have them in my life....
:love:

We lost power yesterday, so I am still desperately trying to catch up, but I just wanted to comment on this.

:hug: :hug: :hug: Your love for your grandchildren just shines through in your posts, and I LOVE it!

Whenever my children sneeze, my husband always says, "Bless you." To which I say, "NO, they have blessed US!" Silly, I know, but your post reminded me of that. Everyone single one of my babies have been a blessing to us.

Look what you did, you went and made me all mushy!

Ruffler foots aren't that complicated, annoying though. You just have to play around with them. My serger is supposed to do ruffles too but I can't get it to work. I do alot of ruffles by hand. Sadly I find it soothing.

It DOES look easy! When the auction said "100 yards", I think it's basically 100 yards in length, not width. So she got a bunch of 2 or 3" wide strips from each yard of tulle, but if you lined the strips up end to end, it would be 100 yards? :confused3 That's what I'm guessing b/c 100 yards sounds like a lot...but its very full!

Right, usually when someone says they used such a large number of yards, it's total length of the strips and not the number of yards of 58" wide tulle. I've done some tutus using the rolls of tulle found with party supplies. It comes on rolls 6" x 20-25 yards (sometimes longer) in a nice variety of colors. I used about 3 rolls for a tutu for Zoe and it was a nice fullness but the elastic could have held even more tulle strips. I've also cut strips from the wider tulle which is definitely a less expensive way to go but takes a lot more time.

Lisa - I didn't quote you here but you're really great and thanks for all the help you give all of us...

UtahM-don't know if you go out and "drink" but I think you'd be fun to hang with!!!!

I am pretty much a lurker on this thread (but I've read EVERY page!) and I have to say, I agree 100% with the about comments!! Lisa's help is invaluable for us novice sewers, and UtahMama makes me :lmao: plus I can't get enough of that darling Nora! :love:

Lisa and Stepmom3 have inspired me so much with their decoupage jeans that I have to attempt a pair for myself! Yeah, so what if I am a nearly 40 year old Pooh sized woman? :rolleyes1

:banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:

Dh ok'd "Disney in December Very Merry Christmas Weekend Getaway" OMG!!!!
I need some really super cute Christmas custom ideas. The only thing I want to stay away from are overalls. DD does not fit in them well. The girls are 4T and 12-18 months. See I new I bought all that extra Minnie dot for a reason.

First, congrats on the trip! We went on a mother daughter trip for 4 days last year at Christmas and it was amazing!
Here is something I saw on ebay. It was overalls, but you could use this applique on anything.

I'm glad I have inspired someone! Just don't compare my work to Lisa's! I have just started sewing.

Happy birthday Princess! :) She's beautiful and obviously loves her cute new dress.

Here is some fabric that I picked up last year when my closest Hancock's went out of business. What would you do with it?

Halloweenfabric.jpg

I already have some of the solide lime green and some solid orange. I also have some candy corn material that I plan on making something with as well. Anybody got some creative ideas?

My son wants some shorts out of this, but I would say maybe a strip skirt with this also being the bodice fabric.

Ok, I'm confused. I thought Voldemart was eBay. Could someone PM me the nicknames for all the places to get sewing goodies?

I believe she probably meant WalMart, aka Waldemort.

As far as I know. . .
Voldemort = ebay
Waldemort = walmart
Targamort = target

I don't think there's been one for JoAnn yet - I guess Jodemort would work, LOL!

I was thinking the same thing but would you still do the stripwork jumper if you had already done this too.

I just don't want her going to school and all the teachers thinking "man does this lady know how to sew anything else"?

I just tried this week using the WWMAG code for a second time and I was told I exceeded the maximum. I used the code no problem last week. I did'nt realize it was a one time code otherwise I would have purchased more when I used the code the first time. Bummer:sad2:

Does anyone know if they make a ruffle foot for the Disney embroidery machine (SE270D). I'm finally about to take take my machine out of the box...wish me luck :thumbsup2
