Ok, I just KNOW you are all dying to see what I created last night :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Right? Ok, so you aren't, but I'm going to show you anyways!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have been thinking up this outfit since June, and finally got around to making it! I didn't have a pattern, so I'm pretty proud of myself! I guess it's an original Teresa Creation! OOOOHHHHH!!!

Ok, I'll admit it, I'm killing time waiting for my pictures to upload to Photobucket. Why is it so slow today??

While I'm waiting, I'll comment on an outfit that I seem to have missed.
twob4him
I love the preschool dress! It is absolutely adorable! I love the little bus!

Ok, photobucket is 50% done...... I have DSL, this shouldn't take so long....

Did I mention??? I SHIRRED!!! YEP, I SURE did!!! I want to add one more row of shirring to the bottom of the top, I don't like the way it kind of sticks out funny, and I think another row would help fix that.
I made the top too short too begin with, so I had to add ruffle to it to make it fit right. But, I really like the way the ruffle looks, now that I've added it. I would have liked it better if I had made the top longer, THEN added a ruffle, but this will work for now.

75% done, GEESH! Maybe I should do a load of laundry while I wait! :laundy:

I almost forgot, I also want to add some purple bows to the gathered parts of the skirt. But, I didn't have any purple ribbon, so I need to go get some.

OOOH, I think it's done!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Here we go....

Gotta Twirl!!

Thanks for looking!!!

I had Arminda try this on, and it fits her too! Gotta love shirring!

Teresajoy-

Great job- original and creative. I'm sure you've heard it before, but your DD is a beauty... and I love her hair!! Such a pretty color!

I did this one for DD in Spring. I really like to do some of the characters that aren't the ones people typically think of for Disney.

mulan1.jpg

mulan2.jpg

LisaZoe- you are the DIS Boutique QUEEN!!! AL of your creations are just perfect! I absolutely love you sense of color and style. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!

Minnie (and Tink in the other photo) is painted on the fabric. I did that before I learned to applique. I love the detail I can get with painting but some people worry paint will fade or wash off so applique does better for me.

minnie_paint.jpg

If anyone is interested, here's the back view that also shows it with the skirt to add length and more ruffles. I think if I did this again, I'd do capris or just add the ruffles to the dress. I did like the color the plastic pony beads added to the ties. (Notice the "Minnie ear" hair, too? ;))

minnie_back.jpg

WOW! That is just beautiful! You are SO, SO talented! Amazing!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Overall I think my girls will look cute wearing their outfits and as long as they like them that's all that counts. 10 days and counting. I can't wait. I've even started a pre trip report. Gosh this board is so addicting.

I just got my PINK sock monkey material in the mail!!! I have to go sew now! DD"S birthday is in 2 days - think I can finish a stripwork twirl dress/top in that time? I'll post pictures when I'm done.

These are SOOO cute!!!
If anyone is interested, there is a pattern for the last outfit in the bookmarks site. I belive it is called an apron top.
I wish she could. They are afraid they will fall off. I have snuck her mary jane crocks on her with jeans and socks, but it kind of de-feets..:lmao: the purpose...She complained this morning about wearing shoes...we wear flip-flops almost every day...our feet are spoiled...
I put on my tennis shoes for the first time since March or April. And boy, did I NOT like it! I saw that they have fleece lined Crocs now, those are tempting!
Aimee, I was wondering how you all did at faire. It was far too hot for me to be roaming around in velvet and a steel boned bodice (a.k.a. feat of civil engineering.) Bodice chiller or not it was too too hot for me, ever since having DD, the heat is too much for me. But on the bright side, I've got a killer pirate costume.

The gentlemen that play King Henry and Robin Hood are great people. I'm so glad your daughter had a great time. She looked like she was enjoying herself.

I know what a bodice chiller is!!! You see, before I went to our Ren fair, I wouldn't have had a clue! But, I struck up a conversation with a lady in full costume, and we got on the subject of why she wasn't withering away from the heat! And, she turned away, and pulled it out of her bodice! Really, what a FANTASTIC idea!

Nothing real big - but I did make some ribbon jean capri's to match DD's HSM top. I am thinking of adding the letters HSM in rhinestones on the leg.

520m2xj.jpg

I like these!!!!

I found it, thanks! And she does a great job organizing all this for sure. I am not an organized person, one look at my sewing room will tell you that. lol

It looks like you could get lost for hours checking out everything. Thanks again.

Oh, thank you, I'm glad you can use them! My sister, hkite, helps me organize them. My problem is, I tend to get distracted when I do it, and I end up adding more bookmarks instead of just organizing the ones I allready have!
be gentle. Here are 2 of the things I have made thus far. I did not do the shirts. Only the dress/skirt. NOW if only I can figure out how to post the pic... wish me luck. LOL

th_100_2546.jpg

Nice!!! Great job!

I LOVE it! I've got "big plans" for my 5 yards of Pooh Toille, I just have to gain a few more skills- zipper making skills, lots of layers gathering skills, making things that actually fit skills, etc...
You posted that just because you knew it would make me laugh, didn't you!
Wow, your ren faire looks a lot cleaner than ours, or something!
I was thinking the same thing!
Yes, my sister is a VERY organized person!!
Hey now, don't blow my image!
[/quote]

The word SALE makes just about any price a deal, right?

Sadly, other than Halloween costumes, I didn't sew much for Zoe when she was really little. On our trip to WDW she was almost 3. I'd booked some princess meals so decided to make her a princess gown to wear... and then made a second in case we saw the same people at different meals. LOL

BTW - I shared pics of her in the princess gowns on the DIS and was encouraged by other members to consider sewing for others. Since then, I'm made a lot more for her but she's grown so fast and I feel like I missed the perfect size for full-on boutique clothes. Oh well, it's not like we have anywhere for her to wear them if we don't have Disney trips planned. LOL

Could you share those pictures of the princess gowns again? Or did you allready?

Also, to show I am crazy, here are Megan's and my coordinating outfits. I am trying to decide if I should make more. She has more outfits that I didn't coordinate. What do you think? Am I crazy?

Minnie:

th_100_1684.jpg

Also, I was in JoAnn's and Disney was on sale and I found this adorable Tink fleece. I think Megan needs a new outfit for our trip, don't you?

I'm sure I'll finish it by the time we leave Friday, right? I had better get sewing!

I LOVE the matching outfits! Heather and I and our entire family are going in May, and we have discussed and actually bought fabric for some Minnie inspired shirts for us, our sister-in-law and our Mom!

I think kids should be kids without makeup and weird pouty lips.
unless it's natural.
That made me laugh!!! I HATE the pouty lip pictures! That girl is too pretty to be doing that in every picture!

Ok, here it is. I still need to work on re-sizing, but this was originally an 8x10. I'm sure digital snapshots will work better.

This is my Rebecca, she's 2 years old, and the reason I'm following this thread. I'm working on a few Disney related things, and I'll post those when I've got something to show.

Rebeccapiano.jpg

This is GOGEOUS!! You shirred that yourself??

OK, be kind....my first masterpiece :goodvibes My attempt at a twirl skirt:

th_100_6821.jpg

Notice the far, far away shot so as to hide my uneven stitching ;) I will get DD to model it once I finish the shirt. I need some ideas. It is a plain white T from Waldemort, but it needs some jazzing up. Any suggestions? I have tons of these fabrics left over. Math is not my strongest trait :rotfl:

I LOVE this!! I think a peasant top made with the Ariel fabric in the middle and satin sleeves would look gorgeous with it.

Okay everyone here are my first creations of matching Disney outfits for my girls. I did alright on the sewing and found that it wasn't a hard project once I got that hang of it.
Let me know what you think....

This is the front of the baby's dress that I made.
th_100_0572.jpg

This is the back of the outfit. As for the Disney letters on the back I wanted them to be slanted and the picture does nothing for it. It looks way cuter in person.

This is her shirt that I did in rhinestones.
th_100_0606.jpg

The outfits, and your daughters are gorgeous!!!

Ok, I said that I would not have time for my favorite board of all time a month ago, but I just had to post. I got a new sewing machine!

It is a Viking Huskystar C20. It is sooooo coooool! I bought it at JoAnn's and if you buy machines from the store, they will give you a free lesson on how to use the machine. I can't wait, a machine that thinks for me and a free lesson on how to use it. I think I am in heaven. : When I get a break from school, I will begin to sew my creations. I can't wait.

Ok, I took my break from studying, now it is time to get back to the grind not to mention I need to get the kids bathed and in bed. Good night everyone! I miss you all!

YEAH!!! Congrats on your new machine!! I have a 20 some year old Viking that my cousin is lending me. It is wonderful!

Ok ladies (and gentleman ;) - although so far, this message doesn't really apply to him becasue he is a man of few words... and GREAT talent!).......... I have determined that you all talk WAY TOO MUCH!!!! :scared1:

I've been catching up on this thread for the past hour. I went out of town for 4 days and you all went on a gabfest!!!

I started at page 740... and would you look what page we're on now?? It's gonna take me weeks to catch up! I just can't skip all those pages!! I need to know what is happening with who and when!!

Just please, make it all worth my while by telling me you really did notice I wasn't here and you missed me!!
Actually, I DID notice that you were gone!
Teresajoy-

Great job- original and creative. I'm sure you've heard it before, but your DD is a beauty... and I love her hair!! Such a pretty color!

That isn't something I can hear too many times!!!

She's still so cute....And the painting WOW I'm humbled by your talent
And might I say that I think the lot of us (on this thread) have the cutest kids ever!!!

I agree....Honestly they are flat out cute!!!

Minnie (and Tink in the other photo) is painted on the fabric. I did that before I learned to applique. I love the detail I can get with painting but some people worry paint will fade or wash off so applique does better for me.

Does it fade or wash off....How do you keep it from not?

Also I recall some wiggles fans recently...check quickly ending in 3hrs Custom Resell Wiggles.....

Thanks everyone for all of your help with the Jester pictures. I got over 12 pm's. Thanks a bunch. I know I will have to CASE this...it's too cute...

I just have to say I love your little smiley's trying on glasses...It cracked me up..My son was recently told he needs reading glasses and is very resistant to wearing them. He's wearing me out trying to find the perfect pair that doesn't cost a small fortune:headache:

It was an iron-on. I wanted him "swimming" in the ric rac like Tom's cute duck, but I couldn't get him situated right. I ironed him on and then sewed by hand around the edges from the back. I hope he doesn't fall off in the wash!

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site that had a big selection of iron ons? There is not a big selection at JoAnn's.

Also, to show I am crazy, here are Megan's and my coordinating outfits. I am trying to decide if I should make more. She has more outfits that I didn't coordinate. What do you think? Am I crazy?

Get crackin!!! :rotfl2: Great outfits and I love the fact that they are matchy!

I know that this picture is super huge . . .

I wanted to make a spread sheet to keep all of my projects organized. I have to get back to work on Sept. 1st. Boo hoo!!! So I will have to be really careful with my time.

I started to make a spreadsheet but it was really boring so I made this. I am going to change the clip aret and color of border to reflect the theme. I also am going to add photos of the fabric.

I thought when they are printed out it would make a pretty cool sewing journal. I could add photos of the clothes too.

If you would like a copy I would be happy to send it to you. You have to have Microsoft Publisher to use my "spread sheet." You can edit it with your info but it only will work with Publisher.

email me at agomberg@theaimeegombergcollection.com (I know it is long.)

Great idea!!!! Thanks !I will check my puter for Publisher and email you !:goodvibes

I missed it, if anyone posted a reply, yet ... so, sorry if this is a repeat.

Did anyone find/need a
Wholesale Source for
LARGE RICK RACK?

WRIGHTS makes it ... "MAXI RICK RACK" ...
several colors, 1 1/4" wide ...
the metallics are 1" wide :)
sold by the spool (or in yards off a spool retail) ...

I found this in a search. ( *CLICK ME* )

The 7 colors, on the right, have the best price, that I could find.
Here's the search ( *CLICK ME* )

There's tons of other brands, sizes, colors out there, too ...

Hopefully, that helps. :)

My biggest problem is getting her to stop talking long enough to take the pictures. And then of course there are the many photos like these...

I LOVE these pics of your little kiddle! Thank goodness you posted these!!! She is just the picture perfect little girl and I was beginning to wonder what I had done wrong because my kids always made faces at the camera!

Congrats on finding a way to support her and stay home at the same time. I'm sure it can't be all that easy, but it is so worth it!

Here's a pic of my VERY FIRST Disney custom! Really love the Pooh Toile. I have a PILE of fabric waiting for the next 3 outfits I'm going to make for our trip in Nov! This one was just for fun - as well as a trial run for "the real outfits!" (Hope the picture works!)

Awesome!! I love it! Your DD looks pretty thrilled with it as well!

Does it fade or wash off....How do you keep it from not?

It can fade but shouldn't wash off if the paint instructions are followed. I did some jeans for Zoe to wear to Disneyland and loved how they looked because I could add details that I wouldn't know how to do with applique. She's the kind of kid who wants to crawl, climb, kneel, etc. on benches, concrete walls, pavement, etc. After she wore the jeans a few times, I could see some areas where the paint was worn off. It doesn't bother me for her clothes to get that way but I decided it wasn't something I wanted to do for others unless they understood the nature of painted garments.

Here's a photo of part of one pair of jeans I did for her.

Before wearing/washing:

After being worn and washed 5-6 times:

Could you share those pictures of the princess gowns again? Or did you allready?

Well, since you asked, I'd be happy to share. I just don't want to flood the thread with photos of Zoe... no matter how beautiful I think she is. :rotfl:

Oh my, you should see some photos I have of what she thought were great model poses. LOL Well, since I'm already sharing so many photos of her today, I'll add a couple more.

A photo taken when she was distracted by something across the street - definitely a nice photo and a "keeper":

Zoe's idea of how a model stands... I'm not sure where she got the idea models pose with their tongues out at all times. This is definite blackmail material for the future. :rotfl2:

I guess everything I have made for the babes is too big so here she is . . .

This is a CRT.

Becasue I know it can be difficult to find things on the bookmarks sometimes, this is under tops/halter/apron halter top w/picture and I also have it listed as tops/halter/apron halter top

It doesn't have the stripwork bottom, but that's pretty easy to modify. There are some stripwork instructions in the dresses and skirts/stripwork section of the bookmarks.
