Some skirts that I totally CASEd...

The only disappointment was the Little Einsteins...they were real people and the kids had no idea who they were when they first came out...

Are these used from the beloved bandanas from Waldamort? I like the simplicity of these! (Not the simplicity of sewing, just the simplicity of just two colors. ) I have the sequined minnie heads and i think the bow in Minnies hair is pink, so this poka dot would be cute to match.

OK, back from shopping and I got enough to start a twirl skirt and a dress I got an "easy to sew" pattern for. Crossing my fingers the skirt goes well because I want to start with that. I love the fabric  I am procrastinating starting it because I dont want to mess it up :rotfl: I will start it tonight though, I have to!! I am so insipred to make tons of things and time is running out before we leave on 9/21.

FYI, my walmart had a ton of kids t-shirts and plain biker style shorts for about $1-$2 on clearance. I got a few plain tees to customize to go with the stuff I will be making for the trip. For that price, I couldnt even sew a shirt!

I finally finished my Tinkerbell shorts. I have an appliqued shirt coming to match them.

So may cute things posted here today. This is a great use for some leftover fabric pieces and so adorable! I may have to CASE it too!

Here is what I have been working on this weekend. This is DD's sock monkey dress for her very first day of school. I still have to do little shorts that are more like fancy pants. She does not have lady legs yet!!!

She tried it on before I added the ruffle. The last photo is the finished product. Yes, I know the house is a mess in the pics! I guess I have been sewing too much!

I really love how all of these fabrics coordinate! Plus it's cute to see the mickey dot in the background, and the blue dot that lots of people have used to go with the Pooh Toile.

I love this! My husband told me recently he does not get my ric rac obsession. I just think everything looks cuter with a little ric rac on it. This is adorable!

I love the addition of Tink and the bling. They really look great.

Yeah, I don't know what my daughter would think of the real life Little Einsteins. The outfits came out adorable. They really look sweet.

Here is our day at the Ren Fest. DH and I had a really great time. We did not expect too. It was 100 degrees before the heat index and DD wore that dress the whole time! She was really excited to meet Robin Hood, Maid Marian, and the King. She was even knighted! When she was knighted a photographer took her pic for a magazine. How cool was that I am so glad I made that dress!

If anyone is looking for the sock monkey material in the Indianapolis area, I found it! There is a store near Keystone called Quilts Plus. I rode over with my mom to get her quilting supplies and saw it sitting there. There was about 4 different prints and it was cute!!!!

Oh Aimee I just love the pictures. Seeing her at the festival brings back good memories of my boys there. Is she gong to wear the dress again? Will it be her Halloween outfit? Her hair all braided back, and the flower wreath just completes the whole ensemble. You did yourself proud girl!

This may be a sign that I spend WAY too much time at the fabric stores. . .

DD, who's 2, is playing with some scraps of fabric, "cutting" them, then folding them up for her baby dolls. She's even pretending to print out a receipt. DH is thinking it's time for an intervention!

Hi, my name is Lori and I'm a fabricaholic.

I think it's adorable.

DD likes to drive her car around the house stopping at Hobby Lobby, W-M, Kroger, & Hancocks. Their imaginations at that age are great.

sooo......far........behind.......must.......catch......up!

Ok - now that I have that out of my system! Loved all the outfits posted today - great job ladies! I have a question and a favor!
1. With the Tink shorts - do you just leave the edges? Does the fabric fray? Just wondering because I LOVE them and wanted to CASE!
2. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have now purchased 3 packages of the Mickey head scrapbook buttons and need one more small yellow. Does anyone have one they are not using? TIA
Lori

First, the latest items to be posted are great and the outfit for the Maryland Ren. Faire is fabulous!!!

I have finally finished my DDs outfit for preschool tomorrow. We didn't have power Sat night and I was disappointed that I couldn't sew. I'm really getting into this, but not getting good yet. I made her outfit waaaayy to big. Oh well, she only goes for an hour. I'll post pics after she actually wears it. Now, it's time to start on the disney outfits.

Any suggestions for what to make for after BBB? She'll wear a costume to CRT, but for the rest of the day, what to put on her that won't mess her hair?

good night
April

Hi All, We are back from our 1 day vacation! LOL..
Here are a few photos...two are from Playhouse Disney Live...we got stuck behind some big headed person...LOL, we had first row, but not in the orchestra section...

I never thought Handy Manny was hot...but boy after seeing this show..he should be named Hottie Manny...

The only disappointment was the Little Einsteins...they were real people and the kids had no idea who they were when they first came out...

I just asked my dd3 who she thought those people were. She hesitated for a few seconds, then said, June, Leo, Annie and Quincy. I think she has been prepared enough to go see them now! She has seen Go Deigo Go Live, so she understands between real people looking like the cartoon characters.

Hey, I forgot to mention I met T-beri last night. It was great, we exchanged fabric and talked about sewing and the DIS. Very neat.

This is my latest creation. I made sleeves for the first time! They really weren't that hard; I don't know what I was so afraid of. I wanted to try a peasant top because I saw some outfits on Voldemort that were peasant tops and capris and they were so cute. Now I know I can do that. I was going to try to appliqué Nemo but I when I found the patch at JoAnn's I used that instead. Don't look too closely: I attempted another bow. Oh, please excuse her socks: she thinks they are blue so they match.

What pattern did you use for this it is JUST darling! I MUST know! Congratulations on your mini celebrity, I'm sure the actors were just all over it! I bet she felt very special.

TJ: I live about 45 minutes north of Steph, but my DH was playing an accoustic gig at an internet cafe closer to where she lives...luckily I persuaded her and her DH to come check him out and swap the fabrics.
AND I love, love love the bows on the toile dress!!!!

Anyone interested in hearing some of said hubby's music can check him out at www.myspace.com/workingclassproject ...drop us a line, let us know what you think!

NO sewing got done this weekend:mad: I am making a pot of sauce tomorrow for a dinner party I'm having on Tues. then mowing the grass (for the company, you know?) then going to Joanns to pick up a few last items before going to the first night of my new bowling league. I think WED. I am going to dedicate the evening (after work and after DH leaves for poker) to getting all of the projects put together, patterns and fabric cut all of the notions for each one set aside etc. then next weekend I am a slave to the sewing machine!! How am I ever going to fit in a college schedule in the spring I have no idea!!
Gotta run its 10:20 and the boy is still not in bed-on a school night:scared1:
I will not be nominated for mother of the year at this rate!!

...t.

It is really funny about her wearing the dress again. DD cried hysterically when we left. I will admit DH and I did not want to go. This is one of the things we did for her. Not to offend anyone . . . the participants of the festival always kind of creeped us out. Well, going with a child really changes everything. Everyone was so nice to us and so thoughtful to DD that we loved it!

DD had such a great time that she cried the whole way to the car. She kept on saying lets do it again now! She fell asleep in the car and was still sad when she woke up. Daddy told her the fest ran for two months and we would go in a couple of weeks. I said would you like to get your hair braided again. She perked up and said yes. Then . . . I said well, Mommy will clean up your dress and you can wear it again.

She said . . .

No, Mommy the King has already seen my dress. I need a new one!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think she deserves one for that answer! I have a month.

That was me. I sew 1/4 inch in and leave the edges to fray. They turn out super cute that way!

Looks like it worked!
:butterfly :butterfly

Lydia loves the butterflies!!! She got such a cute smile on her face when I showed her!!

Ok, first of all, let me say that these pics are adorable!! Second, YES FOREIGNER!!!!!!!! :rockband: And third, never heard of that band you mentioned.

Just had to use that cool rockband smiley one last time! Well, until next road trip!

Oh yeah and :butterfly :butterfly These are for Tessa & Lydia :) .
This is for you Deann!

Which gives me the right to use this :rockband:

I didn't expect you would have heard of them, but I wanted to throw that out there so you would know just how cool me and Heather really are! :cool2:

Here's what I got done on Friday night:
th_abbysariel6.jpg

Boy, do I need practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not very happy with how it turned out, but dd6 loves them and that's all that matters. Anyone think it would've looked better with black lines?

Now to straighten the ruffle on the left leg, stitch up the side seam and I'm done with this outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like it!! I do think I would have liked black lines, but it looks good this way too. You are very brave!!!
Thank you so much! At fist I felt like I was CAB-ing much of the time, I hope I am graduating to CASE-ing! Good thing Megan is not picky: she seems to love everything I make. We live in Palm Harbor, which is just outside of Tampa.

I love the bows! And the tutu! And of course the crown! I hope she attracted a lot of butterflies!!

My grandparents use to live in Holiday, just north of you. I use to love going to Tarpon Springs to go through all the shops there! Sometimes I wish Grandma still lived there (Heather will understand that one! :rolleyes1 )
+

Love this outfit! I have been looking for an easy way to make a princess dress for our Princess breakfast, but not a costume. I was thinking tutu skirt with a plain shirt that I would embellish. This looks awesome though!
I actually looked in the bookmarks for the peasant top and found one that looks very simple and that is going to be my next project. Thanks!

We weren't planning a Princess meal this next trip, but I'm wondering if we should now. I really loved the Norway one. Even though they didn't have Ariel, and had ALICE!!! (although, I really liked Alice, she and Jasmine got into a fight about which one was the most popular. It was very funny.) We are planning Chef Mickey's, because Heather has NEVER been there! Can you believe it???

sorry it is the princess dinner at disneyland .. we are going in oct..

Brian's sister is a Carmellite nun out in California, she keeps bugging me to give up my Disney World vacation to come see her. Maybe we should one year, just so I can go to this Princess dinner!
that is adorable does hobby lobby have a web site ? we don't have one here...

If you can't find it, I will gladly look at our Hobby Lobby for you. I think they will have a 40% coupon next week. Just PM me.

Here's a pic of my VERY FIRST Disney custom! Really love the Pooh Toile. I have a PILE of fabric waiting for the next 3 outfits I'm going to make for our trip in Nov! This one was just for fun - as well as a trial run for "the real outfits!" (Hope the picture works!)

Your daughters look so cute!!! I keep forgetting to look for thos bandanas at our Walmart. Your skirts turned out great!

My daughters are now having a lengthy discussion about Little Einsteins after seeing your picture!
Arminda-Those are the Little Einsteins, but they are BIG
Lydia- Yeah, Little Einsteins are suppose to be LITTLE, and they are CARTOONS, not REAL BIG people!
Arminda- I know, that's really weird!
Lydia-Yeah, they are big.......
