And, this is how Tessa and Lydia try to attract butterflies. I think she told me that they are suppose to look like a flower.

Could she be any cuter? I really like the fullness of the skirt with the tutu underneath.

Here's what I got done on Friday night:

I think you did a fabulous job! I think the blue looks great!

I need serious help... My Dh says I need more help than you girls (and Tom) can give me :) I think I hurt his ego, when he was trying to help me and I said “that’s ok, I will ask the sewing girls…”

Anyway- I bought the Disney embroidery machine. So far I love it. The stitch quality is pretty good and it is not hard to learn. I did use double stabilizer and the practice designs I did look great.

Here is my problem. I bought the Ped- basic software so I can download things online. I can not get any of them to open? They keep goin gin a temp file. I have downloaded them in the .pes format. I have tried everything I can think of. I am not that computer illiterate; at least I didn’t think I was.

If someone who has this machine can help me I would appreciate it. I really don’t want to be limited to buying everything on cards. That can add up fast $$$.

Thanks!

well I just went through 40+ pages as i am away at a medical conference...I found a computer kiosk today where I am for the conference (javits Center in NYC)...so I am standing at this computer going through pages and pages of this thread...people walking behind looking over my shoulder at all of yor wonderful creations !! I am jotting down pages that I need to go back to when I get home ;)

So I know that I am truly addicted now as I sat in my hotel room in Times Square last night sewing Mickey buttons and hot setting crystals onto 2 denim skirts for my DD's !!!

Get a life !!

I will post some of my Times square creations when I get home...there is always a memory attatched to every peice of custom creation

Wow, that is too funny. We are planning to take a trip to our hometown for Labor Day and I'm trying to decide if I should take my sewing machine. I don't think I can go 3 days without it. Withdrawals can be a !@#$%

Well you all encouraged me to put a ruffle on the bottom of the back-to-school dresses so I did!! It looks much better and more finished off. Finished up all the fabric though! So here are the two finished dresses:

Love these! I may have to CASE the overalls for my nephew.

Ladyrob, I have been wanting to tell you that you and your husband are the most beautiful couple I have ever seen! That photo of you in your wedding attire is just gorgeous.

Susan:love:

Thanks so much. The day was perfect and so is my hubby. I couldn't ask for a better guy.

Boy, do I need practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not very happy with how it turned out, but dd6 loves them and that's all that matters. Anyone think it would've looked better with black lines?

Now to straighten the ruffle on the left leg, stitch up the side seam and I'm done with this outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks great to me. I would have used the coordinating colors too.

I have decided I can't do anything about the drama in my family so I am back to trying to sew in my spare time.
I had to whip up a quick fleece pillow blanket for my DD before our quick trip to Grandma's this coming weekend. So, that is pretty much done.

I have a couple non clothes things I want to make soon.
Do you guys remember who made this?
disboutique017.jpg

I totally love it and want to CASE it for DS preschool teacher at some point.
The more I look through the DISboutique photobucket the more stuff I add to my to make list.
You guys are making some great stuff. Wow. I am impressed - as usual.
While I was busy not sewing I bought a bunch of stuff for DD for our cruise next year from Gymboree. I love there sales, plus gymbucks!
Cute nautical themed outfits. I thought about making some stuff, but some of them are just to cute to pass up.

Great job! everyone.

Has anyone seen this fabric? i am looking for some special princess fabric for a special dress for ariel's grotto dinner...

I put some bows on Lydia's dress, put in another row of shirring, and stuck her tutu on underneath to give it some POOF (I tried plastic bags, but they kept falling out). And, I put a crown on her just for Umama!

Love this outfit! I have been looking for an easy way to make a princess dress for our Princess breakfast, but not a costume. I was thinking tutu skirt with a plain shirt that I would embellish. This looks awesome though!
I actually looked in the bookmarks for the peasant top and found one that looks very simple and that is going to be my next project. Thanks!

I have never seen that fabric, but I found this, I think they coordinate. It was at Hobby Lobby.

Where did you get the "yo ho yo ho" and the "x.....mickey head"? Did you make it? Embroider it? It's very, very cute!

Okay, I hope I explain this right. I've had my PED Basic for about 2 years now LOVE it!!!
Now the PE basci card reader only needs to be plugged into the USB port when you are ready to embroider something. Now for collecting the Free designs on the web this is all computer work. Set up a folder in your "my documents" file name it "designs to be unzipped" or something like that this is the folder you will down load the zipped files you can get from the web. The next folder you need to have is one for your design collection. You can have subfolder which can be created for the different categories of designs you accumulate...i.e. Flowers, Baby Related, etc. Now when you want too see your designs or pick out something to embroider and load onto your card. Plug the card reader/writer into the USB port on your computer, put the writable card into the slot in the reader/writer. On your computer open the PE Basic program. When it comes up hit the "file drawer icon button on the left hand side, it will open up a window that you can choose a card or desktop choose the desk top and then you can go to your folder with your designs you made up earlier. If you need additional help just PM me. Nana

So CUTE!! My DD was sitting here and told me she wants one.....not sure I can do that just yet but who knows!

Where do you guys find disney fabric? Are there good online places or do you use local fabric stores (like joanns) and wallyworld?

I got the fabric in JoAnnes, back in February or March. I was home on disability at the time, and had loads of time on my hands.

I buy a lot of Disney fabric on "the site that shall not be named". I check just about every day to see if there is something new.

That's so gorgeous!!! The shoes match swimmingly- "pick your battles" I guess.
I bet everyone at church "oooohed" and "awwwww'd"!!!!

What pattern is that? Or is that a genius creation?

About as genius as I get, is that I don't need to read the directions. Well, maybe I have to peek a little once in a while. I can combine patterns to come up with my own ideas, but have to have a pattern. I keep seeing all these wonderful dresses and think I need to step outside of my box.

It's a Daisy Kingdom pattern. #3861. The package shows it with the pink princess fabric that's been around for awhile.

I bought a bunch of headbands to cover with fabric. Any tips/suggestions?

Cut your fabric on a bias. I like to use the padded headbands. I usually find them in Joannes in the bridal section, I think about $3. Inside there is a ribbon trim, I peel it off (there is a sticky type tape there) and carefully pull off the satin fabric and use that as a pattern. I use a clip or clothes pin to help hold it on, while I stretch to the other end. The sticky tape is usually still good, so I just press it down. Where it's not, a bit of glue. Glue the trim back on.

On the plain head bands, I cut the fabric twice the width of the HB (cut on bias). Glue one end and uses a clothes pin to hold it while I work. Stretch and glue the other end, clothespin. Then I start in the center and work my way out. Small bead of glue on the end of the fabric and hold it down until it will stick. I just make sure the fabric ends meet and not overlap, or by much. Then I use a ribbon on the inside to hide the fabric ends and make it neater looking.

Sometimes I wish I had more hands, but the clothes pins really help.

Our school doesn't allow sandals either. They also don't allow clogs. I send my DD7 in her Crocs, but with the strap on the heel, so they're not technically clogs. I just got her the Mary Janes to wear as well.

I got my son some Keen sandals and thought they'd be okay since they're not open toe.

I hate the rule. I wear flip flops year round (except in the snow!)...

Our school said it has to do with insurance. The kids need closed in shoes for the playground. I wonder why a clog? Because they can slip off, maybe? Work won't let us wear crocs becuase they are too casual. Yet I can wear a sneaker. Makes no sense to me. Since I broke my foot, I'm all about comfort until the work day is over.

In between takin care of the youngins, and doing dishes, laundry, making beds, getting ready for school, etc I sewed a couple of things. :surfweb:

Next, is the first-day-of-preschool dress. I am making the same one for my older DD today and tomorrow. I changed the bottom by adding an extra panel and it made it good and twirly! It was New Look pattern #6688 and was VERY EASY! All the fabric was from JoAnn's.

IMGP3928.jpg

I know I should add a ruffle or something at the bottom but I measured it and its 9 feet. I would have to ruffle 18 feet or more of fabric. Ummmmmm not today....and tomorrow isnt looking good either  :rotfl2:

That was a blast...ok back to sewing!!!!

I love the back to school dress! That apple fabric is adorable and the chalkboard with her name on it is so creative and cute too.

Ok, I just KNOW you are all dying to see what I created last night :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Right? Ok, so you aren't, but I'm going to show you anyways!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

"Pleased to meet yah"(you know, from the Song of the South)

Beautiful! I love the purple insert in the middle of the top. Congratulations on your shirring! I haven't attempted that yet.

I did this one for DD in Spring. I really like to do some of the characters that aren't the ones people typically think of for Disney.

I love this Mulan outfit. The fabric on the pants is beautiful and that applique is gorgeous.

I am way back on page 763 and I am sorry I know I missed some others. I love all the new outfits.

Utah Momma your Alice costume is priceless! Nora looks adorable and the shoes just complete the look! And they are comfy too so you can't beat that.

I hope to comment on more. Keep up the great work ladies!

Okay, time to share once again. Don't laugh at my applique, I'm not nearly as talented as most of you ladies (and gentleman) on this board. I do try however, and my girls like it, so I guess thats all that counts (at least thats what I keep trying to tell myeslf). Sorry there is so many photos, but remember that I have twins. The 2 back to school sets are a lil different so I posted both. I only posted one of my twirl skirts for Halloween, however I had to make 2 for my twins. I'm still working on the matching shirts for Halloween, but will post with the twins in the entire outfit when I get the shirts done. I will also post ONE photo of the twins together in their BTS outfits on Sept 5th when they goto school for the 1st day. Thanks, enjoy!

These are adorable. Your appliques turned out so well. I love the scissors! The apple is so cute.

I am trying to decide what to make with my collection of Halloween fabric. I like your twirl skirt! Very cute.

Can't wait to see your DD's in the back to school outfits.

Here's the result of my first twirl skirt attempt. I bought this basic tank to go with it - but now I'm not sure if I like it or not. What do you all think? What kind of top?

IMG_2789.jpg

Very nice! I love the rick rack across the patches. Looks adorable. I like the tank top. Or you could make a peasant top.
