There are three Hancocks between here (WV) and home. So, I'm going to call today and ask about the Princess Toile so I can stop tomorrow on our way and get some, if I find any. But I need to know how to say "toile" I've been saying TWALL, is that right?

That is how I say it, but I don't know that I'm correct. No one has ever corrected me.

"TWALL" is perfect...

:tinker: Good morning everyone!! I have a little pixie dust to spread! I have a Joann's coupon for FREE SHIPPING on a $35 order. The code is AUGFSE7352. It expires on Tuesay the 14th.

From Dictionary.com

toile /twɑl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[twahl]

looks like we're saying to correctly

On the Hobby Lobby website, the 40% coupon is only valid until Aug 11. I need the one that starts on the 12th, anyone know when that will be available?

Also, isn't there a coupon available somewhere for Hancocks? I thought I saved my email, but I guess not!

HLAuburn I wanted to say congrats!

Also let me share my big news.......DMIL bought me a sewing machine tonight, I got the Brother 6000i from Wallyworld. I am SEW excited. I have never used a machine before but have already learned to thread the bobbin and needle and I sewed a few stitches on scrap. OH YEAH! I am in Baltimore this weekend visiting my parents so I don't have much my stuff with me so I bought an Alice patten and fabric to make DD MNSSHP outfit. Well I am off to play. party: :woohoo: :jumping3: :Pinkbounc :donald: :sulley: :tigger: :mickeyjum

Come on people, why I am bananaing by myself?

NO MORE HAND SEWING!!!!!!! Last night I was up until 2 and become close friends with my seam ripper but I finished the apron of my alice dress which includes a cute scalloped lace border. I know it's not much but today I am on to the dress after my mom has me make custom placemats and cloth napkins for the kid's table for the birthday party for my dad tonight---oh well at least I get to go back to the fabric store and who knows maybe mamma will buy me some Halloween fabric that I have been eyeing up.

disneylovin - I'll dance with ya!!! :dance3: :yay:

Toile - I've been saying "toil" in my head. Oops!

As far as I know, Hobby Lobby stores aren't open on Sundays (never have been). Call & make sure first.

And, I know on Hancocks.com you can view their ad, maybe you can print the last page of the ad. Call & make sure first.

I remember how I felt when I learned to use my machine and "no more hand sewing" CONGRATS!!!!! You know that it means we expect great things from you now!

Okay ladies and Tom of course. Here is my first creation with a pattern, McCall's 5088. After a long intimate night with my seam ripper :headache: and thinking very nastry thoughts in my head it is complete :cheer2: , top and bottom are from the same pattern. I think I will add a ruffle to the bottom but I haven't decided yet so it is left unfinished. Now that I have done one I think the next ones will be much easier. :cool1:

Hello ladies and Tom! (Oh wait, that's me!;) ) Thanks for including me in your posts. It really does encourage me to try to go on with making more creations!

My latest endeavor (inspired by LisaZoe's creations!):

And for a little surprise!, The back!:

It will either be a "hidden Mickey" or if she gets the princess side dirty during a meal, you can just "flip" it around and she will be "clean".;)

I made the matching hair bows too!

Also, my ruffler foot got a work out on this one! I don't think that I would have attempted something like this with out one!

Let me know what you all think!

Tom
This is so cute. I love the mickey on the back.

For those of you who have made this apron shirt, can you tell me how you attach the 2 together and what the front of the bottom piece looks like? thanks!

I have the Butterick pattern that's similar. There's a strip about 2" high x 5" wide with interfacing sandwiched between two layers of fabric. You put a buttonhole in each end (about 1/2" from the edge). Then you sew buttons on the corners of the flaps of the back that go under the arms. You button each side on the little strip. There really isn't a "front" to the bottom piece--it's just the little button flappy thing in the very center. The sides extend around the ribs a little, but not all the way across the stomach.

Hopefully that was semi-helpful. :) I don't have pictures taken of the one I made (if I could even post them yet).

hi everyone,

has anyone ever added ribbon or ruffle to knit pants? i was thinking of girlieing up a pair of cute little navy with pink polka dot capri's i just got a walmart for my 2 neices. we are all wearing matching navy tshirts, and i got them those bottoms to match - would the capri's be able to stretch anymore? they look like they fit like looser leggings....

thanks, wendy
