I was just reading along, and saw this dress and thought how pretty it was. I should have realized right away it was a TOM CREATION !! The colors are great!!

Sept. 30th?!

I will be sure to look for my fellow DISers!;)

DD wants to be Tink! So now I have to "think and design" something for her to wear!:rolleyes1

We'll be doing the party on the 28th. Kirsta is going to be the scrubbing Cinderella, and if I get around to it, I'm going to make a FG robe.

Anyway, Kirsta wants a Tink playdress and I wanted to use Butterick #6660. I love this pattern. You may get some ideas if you look at it. I love the petal tutu.

I'm right there with you. We leave in 3 weeks too and I'm still reading these pages. My problem though is I don't even have a sewing machine! :rotfl2: But I've been inspired by disneylovinfamily and am attempting a hand sewn creation for AK. If it turns out decent, I'll post pictures otherwise you'll just have to imagine it in your heads.

I am glad I have inspired you! You can do it:cheer2: The only thing to keep in mind is it is time consuming but the end result is worth it! The nemo outfit took 2 days and I had no pattern, I just winged it and am so happy with how it turned out. If you need any advice just let me know.:)

Okay, on my quest for Jack Skellingotn/NBC outfit. I still have not found an outline drawing for Jack Skellington or Zero. Anyone want to give it a whirl? Also, How many yards of fabric do you think there are in sheets? I am looking at buying full sheets or queen sheets, but don't really know how to figure that out. Any help greatly appreciated!
I ran across a few sites for PINS, today & thought of you ... :)
www. eventservices.disney. go.com/ pintrading/ index
I searched on the left for "before christmas" (*Click Me *)
that brought up 188 pins (some are repeats) ... :)

I also saw some at www. dizpins. com ... but sorry, my toddler rebooted my computer for me before I bookmarked the example pins for you ... :(

I'm still on the lookout for ya, though ... :)

It is 7:50 and silent in my house. Wow is all I have to say. DD3 went to bed without even a whine. DD1 has finally stopped crying. She cried all day! DH is asleep on the couch. I don't remember when it was this quiet ever! Even the dog is asleep!

Anyway, I ended up adding an elastic band for the pink skirt. The drawstring idea was cute but it did not work. I love how the ruffle turned out! yippee! I am going to make the halter tonight. I chose to do the pink with black polka dots for the minnie head. That is the center fabric in the skirt. I am bummed you cannot see the ruffle in person. The pics do not do it justice!

I also found these fat quaters for my Animal Kingdom dress. I love them. I am going to add white strips as well.

CampGris- I did not forget about Jack. I have been working on it and a really cute Sally too. Hopefully I will post it tonight!

This pattern is great. I have some Tink fabric that I was not sure what to do with. I wanted to do something with petals. I saw this on eb*y I think and loved the petals. I loved the top but not the jeans. The appliques are gorgeous but the jeans were not right for us.

Thanks for all of the help with Jack! I wish there were NBC smilies!

I have that pattern and haven't made the first thing with it. The dresses are too cute and the girls are just adorable!! One question...how do you think that dress would look with a long sleeve shirt or turtleneck underneath it?

Oh it would be perfect because there is plenty of room around the sleeve holes. PM me if you need help..there were two tricky parts to the pattern. Or at least I thought they were. Otherwise it was quite simple!

I am doing the same pattern for an Animal Kingdom dress. How did you handle the button? I am a little:scared1:

Ummmmm,,,,,uhhhhhhh,,,,I completely cheated. I sewed the button on and put those little velcrow tabs to hold the whole thing together. I didnt want to get into a button-hole needlessly :rotfl2:

The dresses are so cute! Your girls are just adorable! I love this picture!
.

Thanks Teresa! ;)

Hello ladies and Tom! (Oh wait, that's me!;) ) Thanks for including me in your posts. It really does encourage me to try to go on with making more creations!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My latest endeavor (inspired by LisaZoe's creations!):

I love her too!!

Also, my ruffler foot got a work out on this one! I don't think that I would have attempted something like this with out one!

Now I am going to have to break down and get one, huh???

Let me know what you all think!

What do I think??? I think it is absolutely awesome!!!! I love the colors and the patches. How did you get Snow White so perfect??? And the hairbows are so adorable! Another wonderful masterpiece!!! :thumbsup2

My DD7 is wanting to be in the local beauty walk. I have no idea what to make to put her in. It will be a month from now, so still totally hot here in Alabama. What do you think? Is she too old for Strasburg dresses...which I can make? Should I go for the pageant evening gowns...which I could never make?:confused3

My DD9 was just in a "Baby Parade" and she wore a light blue A-Line dress. Very simple. It had some pretty lace on the seams and some sparkles. I bought it...it was 50% off!! Here is a pic... Hope this helps!!!! ;)

Hello all you "appliquers" !!! So I am working on my first princess applique. I am absolutely clueless as to what I am doing.

I traced the pattern from a coloring book and onto the heat and bond backing. Then I did a straight stitch through so I could see the pattern on the front. I cut the pieces out. I wasn't sure how close to get to the stitches. I am not all done of course. I did the face by hand.

So I guess I need to iron the pieces onto the dress so they stick and then zig-zag over all of the edges??? Is this right? I really havent a clue. :confused3

Thanks for any help! Here are some pics I just took of what I did so far:

As you can see, the pieces are sitting atop my pattern. Thanks again for any help!!!!! :goodvibes

:scared: I have lost my ever lovin mind. I am set for Disney - we go 3 weeks from Monday. Daughter has an adorable custom for each day. I am still lurking here and on the boutique pages looking for more though.

What is wrong with me?? Is anyone else as obsessed!?

Hugs all! Love looking at all of your beautiful outfits.

That would be ALL of us....:rolleyes1

It will be 5 more days then!! Time to take some pics and pack!!! :goodvibes

I need to update my siggie...we are leaving on the 24th...we changed the date, because we are going to Playhouse Disney Live.... on the 25th...

I'm almost caught up on the sewing. I'm making my dd an outfit for AK, and need to just fix a few other things...then today I bought the pink and white dot bandanas for their MK skirts...so after I do those outfits and make bows, of course...then I will be caught up...and I will have to run like He*L and pack...LOL..

I'm not going to be any help, but wanted to say that you are doing a great job so far! Looks good!

I have a related question too... when you do the stitches by hand... do you use one of those circle things? I'm not up on my sewing technology... obviously... but those little holders you stick the fabric in to make it tight and easier to sew??? Can you do it without that? Or should I go get one?

Need help again! I've posted this before, but I wanted to get some more input. How do you think the top is done on this dress?

pillowcase2.jpg

I was thinking maybe it was 2 casing with elastic and a small ruffle on top. :confused3 Would that work? Or do you think its shirring? And how is shirring done?

Thanks (again)!

I do believe it is the 2 casing of elastic and what I call a "header" on the top. Some people use to call this a "paper bag" topper. In any case you would create the casings and header by folding down enough to create both casing and the header. Nana

This is a non-Disney..outfit that I loved..I didn't bid but I bought the fabric today... and can't wait to get it...it's it darling...

It will either be a "hidden Mickey" or if she gets the princess side dirty during a meal, you can just "flip" it around and she will be "clean".;)

I made the matching hair bows too!

Tom, You have the Midas Touch!!! That was absosmurfly fantabulous!

See? Lisa Zoe has inspired me too. My current goal is to have a twirl dress that goes all the way horizontal when twirling. HOW does that work? NO, don't answer. I'll figure it out.

Ok, I had bought a ruffler foot too but it was for a slant shank, not a low shank. It's at Hancock when my order comes in.

I love that it's reversible, Tom. You da man!

HELP!!! im working on a cow/bandana tshirt dress for dd for an upcoming church picnic. i wanted to add a ruffle to the bottom. remember up until now i have only done simple twirl skirts and pillowcase dresses, so im NOT experienced at all. anyway, i saw some really cute white ruffle trim at walmart that would be perfect. my question is this:

the top the the trim had an opening (reminded me of how bias tape looks). ive never used ruffles or trim before so please forgive me. would i just stick the hem of my dress in between the opening of the trim and straight stitch it together or do i treat it more like the bias tape, where you pin the right sides together and stitch???? does this make sense? i didnt buy the trim yet cause i wanted to ask, so sorry i dont have visuals to accompany my question.

thanks for the help!

I love it too. Did you see the straps...cool version. It kinda reminds me of "Birds on a Wire", the short video they show before one of the Pixar movies...I think its Toy Story?? Anyways... its very cute and I can't wait to see what you do....post pics! ;)
