I got all my character fabric in one tub!!! Well all of it except the bolt of Minnie dot (but that doesn't count right?:rolleyes1 ). I even have it sorted by color. Now I have to do the rest of the prints and then the the solids....

I saw someone posted they had just bought some asian fabric, I want to see (Please). I am ALWAYS looking for asian fabric for DD and her "china babies". Can you post a pic please?

Okay, on my quest for Jack Skellingotn/NBC outfit. I still have not found an outline drawing for Jack Skellington or Zero. Anyone want to give it a whirl? Also, How many yards of fabric do you think there are in sheets? I am looking at buying full sheets or queen sheets, but don't really know how to figure that out. Any help greatly appreciated!

Here's a cute version of Zero:

I will give it a shot. What exactly are you looking for?

Do you want the head or the whole body? Let me know and I will see what I can do.

OOOH I forgot how good you are! Jacks head please. No way I'd even think about doing his body! I haven't even attempted the Mickey heads yet! But Zeros whole body! I am tying to froce myself to try applique-ing even if I am super de duper intimidated!

I bought a queen size FLAT sheet and it's 100" long (2.78 yards) and 88" wide (2.44 yards) It's a lot of fabric! The measurements DO NOT include the inches that will have to be cut off because of the hems. If you really wanted more out of it you could take the seam ripper to it and add a couple inches to the length.

Here's a Jack Head for you!:)

That is perfect! Both of my questions answered in one post. I'm off to bid on those sheet sets! Funny thing by the time you have a full or queen flat and fitted sheet is that like 10 yards of fabric?:scared1: I guess I can always re-sell what I don't use! Or just make lots and lots of NBC outfits! Thanks for the help!

hey ladies! i have found a dress so darling i must have one! i want this pattern so i can make one!!! ( yeah right- im too afraid to venture out of my twirl skirt comfort zone!:rotfl: ) my mind is thinking long sleeve/flannel for winter, cool cotton for spring!

its darling. so my next question....who can find (preferably free one since weve all been overspending on fabric!) for this first and post it? or maybe you really talented ladies can tell us how to do it from the pattern thats in your head??

Hi Ladies, and Tom...:rotfl:
I need some help. I'm trying to decide what my girls should wear on their MK day. :confused3 I'm so confused. They usually do princess dresses complete with tiara, glitter in hair, full princess make up....the works... They get tons of attention, and I love their photos with the princesses...but this year, it's just too hot, so I don't know what they should wear...
These are the things I don't want them to wear...
Pillowcase dresses....they get sunburn easily, and I'm worried about their shoulders being exposed all day
Denim Minnie halter overalls....even if they are halteralls....the denim is just too hot...we had a bad experience with a pair of those....
So any ideas would be great.
I'm working on the (*&^%$#$%^&*(* Tinkerbell outfit....It's going great :headache: NOT!!!!! More on that later...
I just got done eating a huge piece of birthday cake to make myself feel better...it's my mom's birthday....LOL

In this weather I like cool!!! Allie wore her twirl skirt with a top that was shirred and had ties at the top. Might not be right for them if you don't want bare shoulders, but a ton cooler than the overalls. I think if we were to go back in the heat of the summer I would do pillowcase dresses b/c they are so much cooler!

This is an outfit that I think I will try to make for my dd for Disney. The seller of these had them in pink and red, and I think she made the overdress out of bandannas. (spelling) I know I have the red and white fabric... and I think it would be cute, shorter, over the white tutu. I think I will decorate little tees, or tanks, and make a white cotton underskirt, with a tulle layer, and make a polka dot, either pink or red, to go over the top. If they get hot, maybe I'll make and bring matching shorts, out of the dot, that they can just pull on...
What do you all think...

Also, if you search boutique duck goose...I think, there is the cutest duck fabric, and of course I had to run and buy a few yards...LOL, I almost paid 135 dollars for an outfit that is listed right now..but my brain began functioning again, and I figured I could make one like it, if I just tried...

I wish my little ladies, acted like little ladies...LOL. They ride in the disney strollers, which are low to the ground, and they don't keep their legs closed...so needless to say, the last time she had on a dress...a little boy commented on her spongebob underwear....:rotfl:

So If I did pillowcase dresses, they would need bloomers...LOL

That's cute. It's definitely made from the bandanas like they sell at Walmart. I've seen them in a bunch of colors. I'd be worried the tulle might be hot, but I think it would be cute for a special dinner, or with shorts like you mentioned.

I like the idea a lot! Might have to C.A.S.E. that one! Walmart here even had skull ones at one point if you are going to the P & P party! I think dresses are cooler than shorts, and heck they are little enough who cares about Spongie Bob underpants? If you got matching panties, it would all look like "part" of the outfit anyway!

So you've got to share...what outfit are you thinking of bidding on? I'm thinking of bidding on that Raggedy Ann one from that other seller just referred to. Unless of course you hav done a Raggedy Ann? I figure this is the last year I get to choose what my daughter will be for Halloween. I already stated last year that this year she would be Raggedy Ann. She has been a little witch, a pink fairy princess, and a peacock so far. The Peacock was hilarious. I'll have to find pictures!

yep.. those bandanas are from Walmart.. they are .97 each. I made a pillowcase dress from the red and white ones.

hi - i hope somebody can help....

i am going to try to make some patches to go onto jeans (like those patchwork jeans) - i have coordinating fabric - now, do i have to back the patches with anything? do i use a zig zag stitch to sew them on? do the edges fray? or do i do something that covers the edge?

also, i just figured out my machine that my grandmother in law gave me can do appliques - how do you know how to guide the material through so that the edge is totally covered????

when making a pillowcase dress, how do you make sure the armholes arent too big????:)

thanks so much!!! wendy

Wendy, when I made one I just measured from where I though the top of the dress would hit above the collar bone to the middle of the underarm. (make sure you add for the casing) It was for size 3T kid and if I remember right it was around 4 or 4.5 inches plus an inch for the casing.
