Thanks for sharing!
I tried my hand at shirring a dress for DD4 and it was SO easy!! The machine and the elastic thread do all the work (if the machine is working properlly, that is). I just followed the directions (pretty much) in this link from terejoy's bookmarks:
http://www.kukyideas.com/journal/2007/04/shirred-dress-tutorial.html
Here's my little darlin' in her dress:
Great looking dress. I'll have to have a go at shirring next.

Swimsuit cover up I made..
Great looking outifts--boy, you have been busy. I love the cover-up. Very unique to this thread. Outfits, twirl skirts, PJs and now cover ups--I'll be sewing until our next Disney trip over a year away!
Welcome lurker!!!
How clever! Nice applique!
Girls Next Door is my guilty pleasure too!
Lovely dress! Your daughter looks very proud!
So cute! I love this fabric--Nemo is a fav in our house too! DD2 loves the seaguls--"Mine, Mine, Mine"!
I love that it's reverseable!
Great job on the twirl skirt Tink! I am looking forward to seeing pics of your DD in all her customs!
I too saw this at Joannes just last week. It is flannel and I wouldn't know what to do with it. DD liked it too.
Nope, it wasn't a mod who said to remove them, it was the creater of the outfits who doesn't want her work posted -- and that's her right.
That's too bad. Seems like she would like the free advertising--why cut your nose? I always thought she had cute stuff but would never purchase from her now. Looks like she might have lost a good customer too--there were a lot of customs bought by one person!!

May I just add, it was Norah's turn to say family prayers tonight and she thanked God for her "new outfits". I'll remember that when she's a know-it-all teenager!!!
Great job! I love that she mentioned her outfits in her prayers--makes every stitch worth it! Seems like you learned a lot. We all have to remember to teach our daughters/sons to sew--I wish someone had taught me!!
I read somewhere = if you can tilt your machine a tad bit UP in front = it can help with that. So, that you don't have to slump to see.
When I was pregnant, I could hardly sew it hurt so bad to sit there like that ...
I raised my worktables a bit, lowered my sewing chair + got a couple spot-light work lamps.
Wow! that helped TONS

That was 5 years ago & I still have them that way.
I am 37 weeks and still trying to put a few outfits together for my DD for halloween/thanksgiving but I don't get too far--my feet are swelling so much when I sit or stand too long! I have managed to read the laptop from an odd angle while laying down--but I don't think I can manage sewing that way!!

I'm afraid I won't have much time to sew once the new baby arrives. Luckily, I am still months (and months) away from our next Disney trip!
I'll have to try some of the above tips for prego sewers!
Here is my latest outfits for my girls and the bag I made to match.
I just love the school fabric. You did a great job on the dress and matching bag. Lucky girl to get such a nice machine! Try searching online for the manual. I am sure you can find it someplace. Might be worth figuring out what all those stitches can do!
Ok, to multi-quote--on the bottom right hand side of a post, you will see four small boxes. First is Edit, quote, then multi-quote. If you click on it, it will turn red. Then, go to the next post you want to quote and do the same. Then, after you are all done, click "Post Reply" at the end of the thread (on the left hand side) and a box will all the posts will be in your reply box. If you don't want to use every pic or part of the message, I just delete what I don't want until the [/QUOTE]. Then, add your message/reply. Just do a "preview post" to make sure you did it right. It's much easier than my wordy message here. Give it a try!
Great work everyone! LadyRob, can't wait to see what you come up with next.
