I wanted to try adding some Mickey head appliques to some Denim shortalls.

Unfortunately, our old navy only had long overalls. Our trip is coming up and it is just too hot for overalls. They had a few shortalls but they were only baby sizes. I need size 3t.

Does anyone know where to get size 3t denim shortalls? I guess I should just try a different Old Navy. I did get DD some nice denim shorts, and a couple pairs of jeans. The shorts were only 6.99 and the jeans were only 3.99. But the shorts were a perfect fit!

How about a strip of the fabric in the middle of the bottom portion of the capri with one ribbon/tape framing it on the top and then one on the bottom?
It would keep the clean look you have going with the top (which is adorable)
If you want more frilly you could always do the ruffle sewn on the bottom and then border it with one or both of the ribbon/tapes.
Another idea is to make little ties like you have on the shoulders of the top and add those to the bottom sides of the capris Wherer the cuff or whatever it is starts. Then add some more tape and or ribbon to the capri around the bottom of the leg.

Just some of my ideas. It is a very cute top:cutie: . I am all for ruffles and frilly but this is a really "clean" crisp looking top! Great job!!!:thumbsup2
I like these ideas. I wouldn't add any ruffles to it either.:thumbsup2

This is my dd's back to school outfit. I don't know if it will be cool enough (we live in Florida) but I made jeans anyway. Hope you like it!!

These are very cute! I love the princess dress.

THe back to school outfit is very sweet. I wish my DD would wear something like that. The children at her school all wear jeans and sneakers. She wants to wear what they are wearing. I didn't think the fighting over clothes would start at age 6 :scared1:

Great job!

Have you tried Oldnavy.com? Childrens Place might be another option.

I love this outfit!! What pattern do you use for this top/dress?? Where did you get these fabrics, both the main fabric and the apple fabric? DD starts kindergarten in the fall!! She'll need some BTS customs!!

Hi, I bought these fabrics at Walmart, I think, and the pattern top was from, Mccalls 5086. I only used the bodice part, not the skirt or the straps.

I have been busy doing some scrapbooking so I haven't had time to post.

Here are a couple I just finished.

Princesses for DD princess: When I showed her this fabric in the store she told me it was ugly. I bought it anyways and made the outfit. Now she won't take it off! :lmao: I am going to quit asking. She told me she didn't like the friends around the world fabric either, we'll see what she thinks when it is finished. She really seems to like the apron style dresses though.

Twirling. Not a lot of twirl factor.

I made the pajamas DS is wearing back in January. I don't know why he wants to wear longsleeved flannel pajamas in the summer. Probably because they have pirates on them LOL pirate:

Question on the teenage style shirring tink shirt a few pages back....

Do you cut your material longer that the actual size needed to allow for the gathering? and if so how much should I allow? Do I have to pull and gather in or does it do it by itself with the elastic.

I love your princess set. Where did you get that fabric?

I had great luck at the Goodwill store! It was green tag day, so all green tags were .99, which was denim. I got several Osh Kosh overalls, long and short, 2 Old Navy Jumpers, and one Gap. All sizes 3t-4. It's hit or miss. Total was $7 for them all. They looked great!

I bought some stronger thread today and went about my way gathering the skirt just a few minutes ago... I can't WAIT to get this skirt done now.. Thanks so much for your help!!!

I bought some wicked girly pirate fabric at joann's today I can't wait to make a skirt out of it. It was a remnant so there was just over a yard left. Also bought some Christmas fabric.. I want to make a jumper similar to Castle's back to school jumper...

:yay: :yay: This was my first attempt at sewing!!! Not Disney, but not too bad!! I have to put buttons on and maybe add a ruffle - DD wanted to wear it to our Model-T club brunch this morning. I started and finished it all last night!!!

New Fabric-

Aww, they look adorable!
My DD's and I had to get out of the house today so Daddy could do homework. (He is in grad school.) We went to JoAnne's and Hancock Fabrics today. I hit the Simplicity patterns. We bought all the princess patterns. I fugured for $1.99 it was worth it.

My plan is to make the Sleeping Beauty dress where the faries are fighting. It will be pink and blue. We are surprising the girls with WDW on Christmas morning. They are going to get a clue box and the dress will be the big clue.

We found some really cute fabric. They had a black Mickey disco-ish fabric at Hancocks. At JoAnne's we got a lot of halloween fabric. DD wants a halloween dancing dress. Too funny. Her confidence is amazing. I will take some photos later tonight of the new Disney stuff.

Sewing/ Craft Rooms-

I know I have mentioned it before. I am an artist and I do have my own Art Studio in my home. The Art room is a favorite in the house. Before I had children I taught art. Our den was a place for me to do my lesson plans and my personal crafting. This spring I re-did the room to better reflect my needs with my buisness. It is a mess right now my Dh promised to help me tonight. I will take pics and post them. I do not have a huge space but it is heaven to me.

Tinker Bell dress-

This looks so cute on her!!! I use to have a sewing room, then I had kids. Oh well, it was worth the trade! :lmao:

I cut it an inch longer than she wanted it. I put a hem in top & bottom and then the shirring. You can pull the fabric a little to keep it tight but it'll snap itself into place. You can't really tell it's working until you get the 3rd row in and then it's like WOW look at that! Have fun & goodluck!

Heather, how about the cuties fabric strip around the cuff (like someone else suggested) and threading some of the ribbon through the jeans above the cuff and tied in bows on the sides? Just a thought!

I really would like to try to make these Minnie inspired shoes... I would be so greatful for any help. :yay:

I bought some at a yard sale to practice on and just used a black sharpie then red acrylic paint. Seemed to work ok, but don't know how it would hold up to water?

Love it, as usual!!!

Looks great on your dd!

I love this fabric, just wish I could find some!

Ok here is my next creation for my dd. How does it look honestly? Does it look ok with the two black sleeves or should I change it to one black and the other in the Mickey fabric?

I LOVE this school outfit! May I ask, how do you make the skirt so full? Is it two times the width of her waist or even more? I love how full and flowing it looks!! Thanks!

I got the princess fabric at Joann's. I don't see any on their website.

I looked with Google and on Ebay and I don't find any. I would look at your local Joann fabric or call around.

The selvage says #CP10812 Disney for Springs Global US, Inc.

Good Luck I hope you find some. I am searching for that really cute Pirate fabric a few people have posted. It looks like a treasure map. I really don't want to buy it from Ebay.

I think it would look cute with one Mickey sleeve. It looks really nice though.

I have to say I love the fabric!!! Is it new or vintage. It is adorable and I would love to something with it for myself!!
