Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 2

Anyway, I love this pattern, and ended up buying it myself. I don't know how to do the photoshop thing, but I love the way it works. How would this look with the Friends Around the World fabric as the main fabric and a solis stripe? Could you do that for me? Thanks,

I did 2 things - 1 as you asked and the other with pattern stripes and collar.

Now that I've figured out how to post pictures, I thought I'd share a little bit of what I've been working on. I know this is a little :offtopic:, but we've discussed it before, and I've had several requests from people here to see examples of the custom autograph albums I've made for my kids and customers. I wanted them to be as interactive as possible for little ones, so there's autograph tags to flip open, slide out of envelopes, flip-style mini books within the albums for pictures etc. Then of course there are places left blank for the pictures of the kids with the characters when we get home. It has been my boys' favorite souvenier EVER! It's gotten more mileage than anything to date and it's been a great way for the kids to remember everything about the trip. We pull our books out several times a week!

You wouldn't BELIEVE the response my kids have gotten from the characters and CMs over their special autograph books!!! The characters always take time out to flip through their books, talk to my little ones, and take extra special time with them. This is a SMALL sampling of what I've made in the past, I've made more of these than I can count.

I apologize in advance for the black ovals my family seems to have for heads. We have a rare genetic condition :lmao: No seriously, DH and I are a little nervous about posting pics of the little kiddies online. They're SUPER cute though IRL--if I do say so myself;) If I ever get brave enough to post, I will.

This is a cover for one of my books

I'm going to stop there for fear this post will be a mile long. Hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Now back ON TOPIC, I have two outfits done, but I'm waiting for accessories to arrive. As soon as they do, I'll post pictures.

This is so cute. I am working on making some homemade books for my kids too. We just went to Michael's to get some paper, stickers and ribbon to decorate the covers.

I like your book a little better than the one I was going to make and I was wondering what size and type book you use?

Everyone's work is so great! Every time I open this thread I get a new idea for something I need to make! I hope you all are proud of your outfits (bought and made). :)

Ok, I have tried to find things on my own, but I am having problems. I was looking for the pink and black pirate outfit someone (I think Castlecreations?) to try to do something similar (and simpler) for my daughter. I looked in the photo album and I couldn't find it. Anyway, I was wondering where the black with pink polka dot fabric came from. I searched my JoAnn's and couldn't find it. I was going to check Wal Mart next. If anyone knows, please let me know.

The other thing I can't find are the directions for the layered skirt. I thought there was one specifically for tulle in the bookmarks, but I can't find it. I found a pattern (McCall's 5090) but I was looking for the directions on the internet before I invested in the pattern. I have a pattern for a tiered skirt, but this one has the tulle as the middle layer so it is more like the one I mentioned.

All this is important because my son wants me to make him something! He found the ugliest, scariest skull fabric and wants me to make shorts for Disney. I am so excited to do something for him, but this fabric is way creepy! Anyway, I thought I would make his sister a matching skirt if I can find the fabric and directions. Thanks for your help!

The black with pink dots is from Walmart. Sorry I can't help with directions, I would like to know, too!

The pirate costume is fab!!!!

My DD wants a pirate/princess costume and every pattern I have seen she says is too pirate. This one is perfect. Would you mind sharing how you pulled off the pirate costume!

Oh lets see, I've made them in just about every size imaginable (4x4", 6x6", 5x7", & 8.8" etc.) I've also had requests for just decorated autograph tag books (no space for photos) which are about 2.5 x 4.75". The pictures I showed are ones I did for my own boys. They're 8x8 and 5.7 which are my favorite sizes overall. I just buy an album (Disney themed) with sheet protecters and slip the seperate pages in there. Some people have requested an album format w/o sheet protectors so their little ones can play with all of the interactive features a little easier. This feature is nice, but your albums tend to get a little dirty and show wear before too long. So I prefer the sheet protector format. They stay nice for...well, forever (considering everything is acid free and archival). Plus, they're a cinch to slip out of the album and onto a clipboard for the characters to sign.

Okay, I'm going back to the fabric shop tonight to buy more Chip & Dale fabric. I noticed yesterday that they had some pink seersucker type "Baby Minnie" fabric also in the $1.99 section. If Disney Babies were my thing, I would've bought some. It was rather cute. Does anybody out there have a soft spot for "Baby Minnie" and would like me to take a picture of it for them to post later tonight? Just thought I'd check before I make the trip. :)

I love how some of y'all like to tease us with promises of pictures of outfits ;). Look foward to seeing them.

There's a cute Mickey 8x8 book at Michaels. I think it's around $10. I'm not sure since I used the 40% coupon on it. Mine is black, and I think it comes in red also. Anyway, it comes with the sheet protectors and it's really cute!

While I was out looking for a serger threader at a small fabric shop I go to every now and again, I noticed a backroom that I had never seen before. In there, they had all of their deeply discounted items. Guess what? I found the most DARLING Chip & Dale fabric!! I've never even seen Chip & Dale fabric before and this was not only incredible quality at an unbelieveable price (1.99/yd.)--but it's simply TDF!! It's one of the cutest Disney prints I've seen in a while and it's super, super RARE! They had lots of it. I bought only about 2 yards, but I'm tempted to go back for more. It'd be perfect for a boy or a girl! I really love it!

I was also going to ask you all, several pages back somebody mentioned that they'd be willing to pick up some from "Friends Around the World" fabric at their Hancocks and ship to those who wanted it but couldn't get it. I'd love to find out who this was and see if they could possibly pick some up for me. Have fun sewing and playing with your kiddos today everyone!

You could make a mint on Ebay if you sold it. They buyers there love vinatage fabric. I've a yard go from $30 to $300.

Heads up!

ACMoore has a HUGE selection of ribbon by the yard for 70% off! I got 10 yards of the red with white dots grossgrain (about 2" wide) for $2.80!! Also, for the Mom's that want to sort of "match" their children's custom outfits, Lane Bryant has an adorable Minnie Dot baby doll type top. It was marked down to $32.95 with 40% off of that, I got one for under $20! My son is going to :sad2: but I don't care!

AND, Target had a selection of toddler sized clothing for 75% off, I found t-shirts and shorts for .98! WOW!!

OK! I am back on page 403.... But I thought I would post then try to catch up. Here is the picture of DD the day of the Wedding.

Your DD looks like an angel in her flower girl dress. What pattern did you use for the top? It's so cute!!

Okay, you guys are scary. Bringing out the lurkers in all of us. I too, am officially become obsessed with this thread. I've been watching from close to the beginning and can't believe how far it's gone but I love it except that I do not get much else done. My daughter and I "ooh" and "aah" over all the cute outfits making my 13DS, 15DS & DH roll their eyes!!! :confused3

We have made a few pieces of jewelry, a coupe of bottecap necklaces and can't wait to make more.

I can sew. Not great, and I don't want anyone to look at the insides to judge it, but other than that I'm okay. I would love to applique and I've just been too chicken to try it but I will soon. I am going to try to include some photos of my first disney outfit. My DD Tiffany just turned 10 in May and is stuck between being a little girl and wanting to grow up. She picked out the pattern (Simplicity 3771) and the fabric. The front bodice was three pieces and the back only one but they are all lined! I hate that but I think it turned out okay. She was really pleased with it so that's all that's important I guess. Not sure if the photos will show up but here goes:

The last one is of Tiff "hamming" it up. Shows her true personality!

Thanks for the inspiration everyone!!! :flower3:

Cute! I feel the same way about my stuff - looks fine when worn, but please don't look inside it!! :lmao:

Aren't these soo cute! I won the Ariel one. I'd like to get more but Ariel is the only I've seen in 12 mos which is the size we'll need in April for my daughters's 1st birthday trip...As cute as these others are I hate to get them and hold them for that long....I just keep watching for the 12 month size....

One more post then I have to get back to work. I know this isn't custom, but I won this on eBay and I love it!
