Well, I was trying to be a good wife, you know DH is the jealous type. Here is what I bought last week and and DH was none too pleased. A girl can dream, right?

I am so jealous!!!!!!!!! I  Jack Sparrow, though funny enough I do not like Johnny Depp!

Here's a few outfits I wanted to show off. First this is a pair of jeans that jessica made for me. She posted them a while back and now I thought I'd have dd model them. They are a little big because I wanted to make sure they still fit well in December. Jessica does phenomenal work :cool1: Thank you!!!

Next is my version of the friends around the world outift. Not as detailed as Dena's but good for a beginner. My goal is for dd to be able to wear it as a dress if it's warm in December and with jeans if it's cold. I'm going to make jeans with a red ruffle around the base for them but haven't yet. I also haven't done the buttons yet. I'm still afraid of them :rolleyes1

Love the jeans, especially the back! I really like the FATW fabric...I think everything made with that is gorgeous! Great job! :thumbsup2

I do think the ribbon draws a lot of attention to the breastesses. I hope nobody really pets me! :rotfl:
LOL I was thinking the same thing..I was like ohh cute.... than though my "girls" would be screaming here I am LOL

I have the ebook. It comes with a pattern in adobe acrobat. You just print it, tape the pages together and then cut it out for your size. I've only used ebooks so I don't know how it compares to regular patterns. But I really like it :cool1:

I was thinking of getting that e-book but didn't know how the pattern worked thnks for lettting me know!!! DD will love it because it comes with instructions for bitty baby dresses too! I may have to get it! Do you print the pattern on regular paper?

Yup! The only trick is making sure it prints at 100%. For some reason my printer wanted to do it at 95% so just check your settings :surfweb:

I am SELF EMPLOYED and my husband is taking 16 hours this summer semester!!! I have a DD that stays at work with me. . BUT ANYWHO!!!

I have worked on a little red and white dress from Walmart. . .will post as soon as I get her to put it on!!! She likes it and it fits like a shirt (they only had a 3T)

But I have completed a WHOLE OUTFIT!!! (Please hold the applause til you see it !!!)

I will post pictures of her IN IT later today or maybe tomorrow!! I still have to alter the strap on the bridesmaids dress that I have to wear tomorrow!!!

Great work! I love the colors!

When my grandma passed away in 00' my mom made me take her sewing machine. I had every intention of learning how to sew...and I still have no clue. Anyone know where I can go for classes? Or did you all self-learn?

I'd love to be able to sew things for my daughter. ;)

My mom bought me a machine a few years ago. I have been teaching myself as I go along. I did just purchase a Simplicity book for sewing--it seems like a good reference for a beginner like me. I am sure lessons would help me along but who has the time?? You'll get it--just keep trying new things.

I finally got around to taking a picture of DS in one of the outfits... as well as his CKP "Buddy" matching outfit...

Both are great. I love the "friends" fabric. I'd love to make something with it but I need to practice on some other stuff first. My Disney trip is months and months away--just check out my ticker :sad1:

I know that your original post was a while ago but do you know if walmart still carries these or if joann carries them, it is so hard for me to keep up with this thread....everyone is so crafty (which I am not) if anyone has any easy non sewing ideas for girls or boys I'd love them! I have a DD6 & DS2....thanks so much for your help!!

I believe both still carry them. I found mine at Walmart about two weeks ago.

Sorry if I missed anyone--great work!!

I used the bodice piece from the youcanmakethis dot com stripwork jumper and then just estimated the body. I'm not very good at following patterns so I kind of make them up. I made the bodice and then held that to the fabric to see what width I needed on top then cut outward at about a 60 degree angle down to the length I wanted. I hope that makes some sense :confused3

TYVM. Its a work in progress. I'm so busy designing everyone elses home that I haven't really had time for my own. Oh well...I get paid to do theirs, so I guess my house will just have to wait. Maybe if I didn't spend so much time on the Dis I could get something accomplished at the old homestead! Not gonna happen though! :lmao:

This is so cute! Now I would have never thought to make a matching outfit for the doll too. Your son is precious! :cutie:

I want to make DD these shoes to go with her Pirate costume.

shoes.jpg

I found the shoes and the ribbon, but I don't know what kind of paint to use. I bought some "dimensional" fabric paint that comes on a tube you squeeze out, but I think I need more "precision". Any suggestions on what type of paint to use? Do you think she used a brush to put it on?

Thanks! :flower3:

OMG, sorry the pic is so big!

I saw those and they are now on my wish list as well!!!

Usually near the "Puffy" paint there is fabric paint. I'd use that and a fine paint brush. I think someone else used sharpies on their shoes - but they might have been leather shoes.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for, but I didn't see it at Hobby Lobby. :confused3 Does it just come in little jars?

I'ts usually in plastic bottles with a flip top. Last time I got some was at joann's. Of course now I can't find it so I can't tell you who makes it. Could you use the puffy paint, with a paint brush?

Well, I think he blends right in with your decor...:rolleyes1

I tried to tell DH that Jack looks better in our bedroom, but he's not buying it. :confused3 So I had to relegate him to the living room where I can close the doors and DH doesn't have to see him. :lmao: Guess what room I spend most of my time in now? LOL!
