Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 2

These aren't customs and I didn't make them. I bought them off Ebay, they are somewhat limited. They're by Wish Upon A Star. Gracie may or may not wear these at Disney but she'll also wear them a lot at home.

Those are really cute! My girls were in smocked outfits constantly when they were your Gracie's age. I just love that look!

I bought the Little Mermaid smocked short set. I thought it would be nice to have something traditional to throw into the mix with our customs. I keep looking at it wondering if it's too babyish for my skinny four year-old.

Never mind, lol. It appears to be over, so I'm removing my comments. Sorry...still way behind so I think I better just stop commenting until I can get caught up.

I made something!!

I tried the halter pattern that LadyRob had. I went to JoAnn's and couldn't find any fabric that I loved. I chose a Disney Fairies print to practice on.

So, how bad is it?!?

Well, that child would look gorgeous in a potato sack, but it looks to me like you did a good job!

NanasCustomCreations, I can't wait to see what you will be listing! The dress is super cute!

Stepmom, the accessories are all very nice!

Glorib, the race car shirt turned out really great! That looks very labor intensive!

Thanks for everyone's reply about the Minnie Mouse embroidery. I contacted the seller and she is unwilling to do a partial refund. I guess I was just disappointed because I received 2 dresses and one looks better than the other. I guess that's what happens when you get a "custom".

Ok, on another note...I keep seeing all these "creations" every is making and I keep wanting to try. My birthday is coming up soon and I thought I might ask for a sewing machine. Can anyone recommend a good one that is a little lower priced? I don't want to spend lots of money on a machine only to find out I can't sew!

We finally convinced my mom to start doing some eBay selling on her creations, so here's the dresses that she just sent the girls that will be her first design. What do you guys think???

The fabrics are great and the dress is darling. I might suggest that the mickey (minnie in this case) icon on the bodice gets lost in the black and white pattern, maybe she could do the stitching in red to offset it from the fabric a bit more. just an idea.
...t.

Thank you all for the comments on my first sewing attempt. I'm trying to decide what to do next. I think I will try a skirt. We'll see how it goes.

Wally World has the Brother CS6000 for under $200. It has the easy one-step buttonhole attachment (perfect buttonhole everytime!!! 7 different buttonhole types, like 18 Decorative stitches....I really LOVE mine! My sewing machine collection includes, a 1904 treadle, 1951 Singer, a Kenmore Serger, as well as a Brother Embroidery Machine.

First, Does anyone else spend ten minutes trying to figure out what page they last left off on??? :rotfl: I mentally note the page # but I have yet to remember what it was when I get back to the computer.

Jennifer

OMG, This is me as well! ANd then once I have figured out where I left off and read through the ones I haven't read, I don't have time to post....LOL

My 4 kids leave me limited pc time....:upsidedow

IF you are disappointed, will she let you return for a full refund? I am super picky & it would drive me nuts as well. If the difference wasn't noted in the auction, she is at fault IMO.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to start leaving a postit next to the monitor of which page I left off on.

If you haven't found them yet, I found these Disney fabric squares (8.5") w. classic dis scenes there are 15 diff. designs but they come only 1 in a pkg. I think they were originally 9$ and change and I found them clearanced, in the craft section, down to 3$

Thought they might fuel some of your creative juices!!

You guys have me so jealous!!! I am gonna find someone with a machine to test out my sewing abilities. When I was a freshman (cough-a long time ago-cough) I took sewing as a blow off class. Well I ended up getting an A- in it. I just don't want to purchase a machine to find that my A.D.D. has gotten worse and I hate it, can't do it or just plain stink at it....LOL

You're so great for finding all of these tutorials for us!!!!

Love them all! Cute shoes:cutie: Where did you get the plastic princesses? Plastic Princesses, that sounds weird. Maybe a good name for a band, though.

You've got me giggling about plastic Princesses! I found some of those on Pony tail holders at Family Dollar yesterday, I think it was 4 for $2.

Thanks for the buttonholes-without-a-buttonholer tutorial and ideas. I think I might try that today. And yay about the patchwork tutorial skirt. :)

You are very welcome! And, I just LOVE finding new tutorials! It's like a treasure hunt. If anyone has any they want me to add though, just PM me!

I'll have pix up later today of all the designs I have!
OOOOH! I can't wait!
LOL just ask AliKat99 I was still "tweaking" her wedding dress 3 days before the wedding! Her quote to me was "perfection is highly overrated"
I finished sewing on my wedding dress the morning of my wedding! You shoud have seen my mother! :scared1: However, my late finish was NOT due to my perfectionism, just procrastination, and I knew I'd get it done in time. I would love to see a picture of your daughter's wedding dress!

They are totally adorable and the outfits look wonderful!
THANKS!!! :cool1:

Yeah, I'm gonna have to start leaving a postit next to the monitor of which page I left off on.

As someone pointed out earlier, if you go to the first page of the thread, there is a box at the top of the thread that says, 'View First Unread Thread" if you click that, it will usually take you to where you left off, although, it occasionaly just takes me to the end of the thread.

That doesn't help as I always get here by my user cp and that option is not in the cp...;) Oh well, just keeps me on my toes...:thumbsup2

You have to have at least 10 (or maybe 15) posts to PM. So, keep posting...even if you just want to post and say nothing to get the count up.:thumbsup2

Do you have your pictures uploaded anywhere online, like Photobucket, Shutterfly or Dropshots? You have to have them somewhere like that to put them on Disboards. Maybe you can email them to me or someone else and we can help you. I would love to see more of your designs. I *really* want a Princess toile dress!!!! PLEASE!!!;)

Your daughter looks adorable as usaul in the purple halter.
Great job on it. Ya see there is hope for all of us sewing challenged!
