My mom made the girls' SW dresses, and I picked up my outfit from Old Navy. :)

Oh my gosh, that is so cute!!! I love it!

Mono~rail, you all look adorable. I would definately notice you at the parks in those outfits.

Jajone, looks like you've been busy. Everything is coming together nicely. I still haven't decided what to do with my "friends" fabric. It's actually laying out on my living room floor in hopes that something will come to me as I walk by it.

Where did you find the skull fabric?

How do they do that? Can you tell me what I should tell the cutters at Walmart so they will know what I'm talking about?

They just snip the end of the fabric where they want to cut and rip it from selvage to selvage. If the fabric is very lightweight and flimsy, it may not work. Wallyworld has some plaids that are just down-right see-through. I wouldn't try it with that. Otherwise, it works great.

Don't be scared. The first time a lady did it for me I almost freaked out! Yikes!!!

Ok here is my first try at an applique. I decided to try it out on fabric I had on hand rather than a Disney one at first. Does it look ok? My dd likes it and I made a purse to go with it.

Looks great for your first time. I'm still working up the nerve to try my first, and I think a strawberry is a good idea, I might do one too! Wish me luck!

ahhhh that is an adorable idea!!!! awesome!

Thanks! It was alot of fun dressing up like that. I don't think I walked more than 20 feet without someone saying something nice to me about how we looked. I heard this one alot -- "One SW. Two SWs! Three SWs! You're cool!"

There was a robot garbage can in Tomorrowland that followed us around singing "Hi Ho". :lmao:

ETA - it's a good idea to wash your trim too - it would be terrible to put all that time and effort into an outfit and then have the ribbon make the fabric pucker!

I'm playing catch up after being gone all day, but wanted to ask this before I got distracted... sorry if it's already be addressed.

Do you mean ribbon and such?

Here's some more. I'm also making a couple outfits for my nieces who are going with us. I made this pillowcase dress today, but need ribbon and was hoping to find some trim for the hem. Any ideas

My, you have been busy!!! I made the same Ariel pillowcase tops for dd8 & dd6. I used red trim for one and pink for the other, they don't like to match exactly! Go figure! Anyway, I'm toying with the idea of rick-rack around the bottom, but not sure I want to. That's the only idea I can offer as of right now! Will you post pics if you add something else, so I can see what it would look like?
Thanks!!

I am a little behind, lots of reading and drama to catch up on today! I had several projects I planned to finish this weekend, but DH threw me a surprise birthday party. So now I am really behind. But here is what I got finished today, Oh and I painted my dining room, but that picture is for another board! :rotfl2: My daughter still won't wear the necklace, but I need to use up my stash anyway! The outfit is for my niece. The shirts are on clearance at Target for $1.48, I just ironed on the bling and tied my little heart out on the skirt and shoes. All together this outfit cost me $7.00 to make and also includes a pair of black shorts not in the photo. Thanks for reading my ramblings, I've heard that is what happens when you get old!:rotfl2:

It was at Joann's. It was stuffed way on the bottom with the rest of the quilting fabric. I think they have it in black and white too. Just thought pink was more girly. I have a yard left and am looking for ideas to use it up. I did all the shirring myself for the first time!

ok thank you everyone for your help on the outfit color choices. I stuck wiht the standard. I have to add buttons. Want ot put yellow ones on! Want to make a little pair of capri's. But here is the top finished without buttons

Those outfits are adorable. Very clever. I love PUSH. He is awesome and made my then 2.5 yr old hug him. Got the strangest look from her kinda like "momma, the garbage can wants a hug?????"

TravelingGal.....Those look soooooo cute.

If I missed anyone...great job. This thread moves fast.

Great job and nice toes!!

These are the special outfits I made for my DD's first trip to Disney World last December. (on left) The skirt of her dress is a little messed up with her fanny pack... it's actually 3 tiers...

MiniMalOliSmall.jpg

This is a plain white T I embellished with ribbon and a Mickey head. The skirt was a mini skirt that I cut and then added three tiers of ruffles...

MiniSkirtSmall.jpg

My DD is wearing necklace and earrings by joyfully_crafted_by_tf off eBay. (They're done with polymer clay and beautiful crystals- and she's a doll to deal with.)

I am now working on some things for this November trip. I just finished the front of a pair of overalls... still need to figure out what I'll do on the back. I may also make an embellished jean jumper or another T dress.

I'm enjoying all your pictures and will post my new things as soon as I'm done!

Lazydazy, I love how her dress matches Minnie's perfectly!!!

I really like the wrap blouse you have there!

And, how are you doing this???? It is SO cool! Do you scan the fabric, or are you drawing it yourself???? Please tell me!

I use Photoshop which allows me to work with layers:

1) get the image from the pattern (print screen from the description page) and crop/resize as necessary
2) capture a photo image of the fabric (from an online store or a photo I've taken myself and uploaded)
3) 'erase' the white in the pattern where I want the fabric image to be
4) insert a new layer using the fabric - make sure it's the bottom layer - size as necessary
5) choose a color to fill in the rest of the areas

I'm playing catch up after being gone all day, but wanted to ask this before I got distracted... sorry if it's already be addressed.

Do you mean ribbon and such?

Yup - ribbons can shrink too. I would wash anything fabric that's machine washable - IMO. Better safe than sorry! Especially since so much time is put into some of these outfits!

eeyore3847 - CUTE top/dress! Good color choices. I'm not very good at imagining things - that's why I Photoshop them before I make them. LOVE the Mickey on your toe!! Too fun!

Gotta run - DS is driving DH crazy!
