Well, as you all know. I borrowed that idea for the jumper dress from one I saw on Ebay like over a year ago. Now the eBay sharks are out to get me. I posted the outfit and I'm getting tons of messages from the members of the group about the outfit that I listed. They aren't happy with me.
Now since I have bids, what do I do?
Should I end the auction early and lay low?
Or should I just not respond, and hold my ground. The buttons are different and the pants are totally different, also some of the fabric choices. So it's not exactly the same...
Any advise would be great. I don't want to get in trouble with Ebay either...

I think those other ebayers need to get a life! A year later, please.

Honestly, ebay is like highschool.....
There are the popular girls that everyone buys from, hence their items go for ridiculous prices. I watch a boutique seller that is so popular her items always go for more then even retail, just because she is popular. Anyone could just search her items and get them for a ton cheaper but her followers are that crazy or stupid! Or both...LOL
Then there are people like us that come along & refuse to play their game so they try to strong arm us into following. I don't think so!!! I only buy if it is a good price or I find someone else to make something similiar!

What do u mean it's not great. I think it is. If you can find the black and pink shiny t shirt that one of the poster made a dress from a few post back for the shirt that would be darling. You know the dress with the bows down the front (wich by the way was a darling dresss - W2G!).

If you're interested in getting one of the Black with pink Minnie shirts, I got it at WalMart in the little girl's clearance section. It comes in 12M-5T, I believe. It had a pink ruffle on the bottom that I took off.

I love the skirt, BTW!! I wasn't sure whether to buy that Mickey fabric or the pink and black dot fabric, so I went with the dots because it was cheaper!

You have to heat seal the ends. Take a lighter and move the flame over the ends until they "seal". It's pretty cool!

Your new outfits are adorable, and so are your girls! Great job on the Nemo outfit! If you're talking about polyester ribbon, I always take a match to the end of them and it seals them so they don't fray.

Here's the thing, you can't copywrite design. There isn't a single ebay seller that has done this because it is not possible.

If it was possible don't you think that Pottery Barn, Gap, Gymboree, Limitted Too, etc............ would be doing this so that every time you walk into Target you can't get the identical thing for half the price?????

If someone invented a new fabric, sewing machine, pair of scissors............They could copywrite those and be the only one who could use them, but not the design of the item they make with them.

I don't think it would be nice to go around and exactly copy something everytime your ebay competition listed, but honestly it pretty much all looks the same (tons of ruffles which I love) after a while. The dress in question is actually kind of old fashioned looking so I can't imagine that there is someone out there that thinks since they listed a polk-a-dot jumper now no one else can!

Oh, and I would love an invitation to whatever the other sight is!!!! My youngest starts Kind. in 6 weeks and I plan on using my new free days to sew sew sew and list list list and earn earn earn!!!!! Gotta figure out how to pay for my next trip!

Wow - this is one long thread!! I finally made it through all 300+ pages.

First, let me say that you all have inspired me to finally give in to my grandmother's request to learn to sew - she's thrilled!! I decided to start with a so-called easy project, the pillowcase dress (wish me luck!!)

Second, I love all the wonderful ideas and how helpful everybody is to one another.

Third, to castlecreations - hope you feel better and sorry about the ebay thing. You are wonderfully creative and deserve to sell your clothes just like anyone else. Competition is a part of business - if the other ebayer doesn't realize this then too bad for her. It's just sad that there are people out there who have nothing better to do than start drama.

Fourth, I'd really like to be included in the new board but I'm new and don't have enough posts to pm so if anybody could let me know what to do I'd appreciate it. Thanks!!
